Amset-Rah Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 My local Walmart has most of the sets in stock except for the small Cole set, which is strange, but I'm certain he'll pop up soon. I didn't pick any up quite yet because they were just put on the shelves and the price scanners said "See sales associate for assistance" so I assumed they weren't for sale just yet. I could be dead wrong, but I'd rather be wrong than right here. Quote
Starrocks923 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 This is interesting... From Barnes and Nobles, for the tenth graphic novel: Will the Summer sets, if there are any, include a gray ninja? Also, where's Zane and Lloyd? At least Nya is there, so we're even more likely to get her in the Summer wave. If I may comment on the graphic novels, I might be able to answer some questions. I don't know what forum to discuss them in, but this forum is Ninjago, so I will post it here. I do recall hearing someone say the Phantom Ninja and the Time Ninja from Ninjago graphic novel #7, "Stone Cold," are one and the same. I don't have #7 yet(Only #1 through #3, #5 and #8), so if anyone does, what happened to the Time Ninja at the end? Perhaps something turns him into a Phantom-or rather, a Phantom Ninja. The graphic novels don't feature Lloyd often. He exists, but like Nya, he isn't often in the stories. Zane, on the other hand, appears in every novel so far, so mentioning the other three is puzzling. I'm going to ask Greg Farshtey a few questions on the LEGO Message Boards. I will post his response here. Quote
Mandate Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) No, the Phantom Ninja has been around since NINJAGO's launch, in the "Cole: Ninja of Earth" book. I have the book right next to me right now, and other people have it and have read it too, so you've got a source right there. Anyway, regarding Lloyd... good grief I never saw that coming, the bit about him powering the Mechdragon. Perhaps this is why he's no longer in the series, the Mechdragon (or the Overlord, that's more or less confirmed now) drains all of his powers and he gets his wish to just be average again. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case, because it would allow them to be more open in their usage with Lloyd as he won't be insanely powerful anymore. EDIT: apparently the new season premiers Dec. 18. Can't get a source, so I doubt it's true. It's on a Wednesday, so I'm not sure if that would mean anything. Keep your eyes peeled anyway. PenPlays Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 That's what I thought it said on the FaceBook page That it premired the 18th... It seems that it is only second-hand information from Twitter posts from random people posing as the Ninja. Take it with a pinch of salt, but keep those fingers crossed! Quote
Aanchir Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 That's what I thought it said on the FaceBook page That it premired the 18th... That was on a completely unofficial LEGO Ninjago facebook page. The official LEGO Ninjago Facebook page never said anything of the sort. I keep seeing this rumor pop up but a Google search for "Ninjago December 18" brings up mainly a bunch of unsourced rumors, some of which are now known to be entirely false (for instance, one in which the alleged premise for the new season was based on the eighth graphic novel, which turned out to be just a stand-alone story like the Graphic Novels almost always are). Lego Spy Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) Not meaning to go off topic, but is Nya into Cole now? I feel sorry for Jay if its true... It's taken from some Ninjago trailers that suggest it. No official (Lego) mention of it yet... Edited December 3, 2013 by Lego Spy Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I was talking to one of my friends little brother, who's 8, and he thinks that it's a ploy to divide the ninja. I laughed to begin with, but it make sense. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I'll admit, the NyaXCole ship tease in that video is pretty blatant, so I imagine it WILL be an issue that comes up in an episode. At the same time, I can't imagine the writers destabilizing the NyaXJay relationship that they seem to have had so much fun writing. So as such, I imagine this apparent "love triangle" will be resolved in the course of one episode... for all we know, it may just turn out to be a wacky misunderstanding. One thing's for sure: all it took was those few clips to rustle some jimmies within the fandom. Quote

I was thinking along the same lines. For all we know, Evil Wu could be controlling one of their minds. One thing's for sure: all it took was those few clips to rustle some jimmies within the fandom. True, very true. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 And to think Ninjago started with a little blacksmith shop and some crazy skeletons baddies... Quote

Lego Spy Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) Where exactly is the video with the idea of the Nya Cole thing? It's on the new Lego Ninjago site, most notably in Nya's character video. (00:23 - 00:27 specifically) Edited December 3, 2013 by Lego Spy Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Lego.com->Ninjago-> character videos->Nya Quote
legoIgor123 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) Wow, now I see what you mean... Thanks for providing the video, Lego Spy! Also, not sure if this is already here. But in the Nya trailer you can see, Lloyd in the top left near the end, when Cole is lifting and Jay is talking. Just thought you'd like to know. Edited December 3, 2013 by legoIgor123 Quote
Gatanui Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 You can also see Lloyd on the front page before the video starts playing. -Gata Quote

Colossus Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) I hope any new Ninjago environment sets are a little more substantial than the previous sets. The old ones seem like more of a backdrop that included either a dragon or a robot. Edited December 4, 2013 by Colossus Quote

The prison cell in the epic dragon battle was weak in structure and the last temple was very crammed together. Quote

The old ones seem like more of a backdrop that included either a dragon or a robot. I dunno, I think the Fire Temple was plenty substantial. The Blacksmith Shop, too, at least for its size. 2012 didn't offer a whole lot in the way of settings, but I was satisfied with the Temple of Light... it's no Fire Temple, but still a great display piece with lots of space to play around with the minifigures. On the whole, I think the best sets in any "play theme" are less like a backdrop and more like a full stage. Plenty of space, props, and action features for telling stories with the characters, but only as many walls as are needed to convey the setting. And I think Ninjago has done alright with that. Not as well as LEGO Friends, perhaps, but still alright. Quote

PenPlays Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 My TRU has all of the sets. I just picked up Kais fighter for my son for Christmas Clearly I haven't beaten you all hard enough with my Inflated Price Hammer. Stand still please. KABLAMO!! Ooh! Look at what's left! However, that particular set is fantastic and was an excellent choice for a Christmas gift. That smile on your kid's face is gonna be more than worth the extra $5. Quote
Mandate Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Just got Overborg attack. Brilliant little set, just wish the Borg Bike (well, that's the only real name it'll have for a while) was a bit better constructed. Especially the saw blades. Other than that it conveys its appearance brilliantly. Quote
