PenPlays Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 (edited) Nah, that's not the case. They screwed up the catalog. The only theme that has "Hard to Find" 2014 sets listed is The LEGO Movie theme. If you see, City and Friends also do not have their exclusives listed as "Hard to Find". This degrade in quality concerns me greatly. I'm also not digging the new layout for the sets. Too organized for my tastes. Happy New Year!! Edited January 1, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
TheOneBrick Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 According to the internet, 26,575 Forints (Ft) is around £75, and 10,455 Ft is around £30. Can't wait for Toy Fair, when we can finally see these sets! Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Summer sets! 70727 X-1 Ninja Battle Machine 70728 Battle for Ninjago City -Sci I hope that "Battle for Ninjago City" will be somewhat similar to the book description of the Mayor and his daughter being saved. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Battle of Ninjago City sounds awesome. I can feel it... Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 It better be...$120, Lego is gonna suck my wallet dry! Quote
DraikNova Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 I hope the "Battle for Ninjago City" set will be similar in scale to the Fire Temple. It seems kind of obvious for it be Borg Tower, possibly featuring some gimmick to turn it into a mech, so I'm hoping for something that can be pulled off a little better within a reasonable price range. Faefrost Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Battle for Ninjago City? Giant Robot vs Giant Dragon? Which seems to follow along with most Ninjago tropes. Quote

Freddy Bricker Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Then where's the "city" in Battle For Ninjago city, if it's just another dragon and robot? I mean: " Welcome to Ninjago, a city where everyone lives in a mech, and moves on a dragon, just because". Quote

I mean: " Welcome to Ninjago, a city where everyone lives in a mech, and moves on a dragon, just because". The set is called Battle For Ninjago City not Battle in Ninjago City. It doesn't necessarily have to be in the city, it might just be the battle for control of the city because right now in the cartoon, the Overlord has taken over the city. Quote

I figure its the safe end of the betting pool for Ninjago. because Ninjago = Robots and Dragons. For all we know at this point it may be the dance competition with Cole's father. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Seeing as a lot of sets are known to be summer 2014 releases (Mixels wave 2 stands out) and weren't mentioned on that site, I think there will probably be at least one more set. Quote
takarawarrior2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 i hope LEGO makes more Ninjago sets for summer 2014. Quote

It doesn't necessarily have to be in the city, it might just be the battle for control of the city because right now in the cartoon, the Overlord has taken over the city. Then the "city" in Battle for Ninjago city, is completely unnecessary. Why name a set battle for Ninjago city when they could just very much call it "battle or ninjago". The name is misleading, and I don't see why call it "battle for ninjago city" if there's no city. Quote

The "Battle for Geonosis" set from LEGO Star Wars doesn't include any scenery. Neither does the "Battle of Naboo" set. With that said, I think you're right, it probably will include at least SOME kind of scenery. Quote
Lego Spy Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 i mean more than 2 sets Oh, okay, I'd like to see more than 2 too. Two sets isn't much of a wave. Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Yeah, I've loved the 2 temples released for Ninjago in the past, and would love to see Lego do what they did to the fire and light temples, to Borg tower. And, I can't go back to it now, but wasn't the price listed as $120? I don't see why they'd make such a large set for just a robot, unless of course I got the price wrong. Oh, okay, I'd like to see more than 2 too. Two sets isn't much of a wave. I agree, it's more of a splash! Quote
Aanchir Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Oh, okay, I'd like to see more than 2 too. Two sets isn't much of a wave. Two sets is way better than no sets, in my opinion. And at least it's a separate wave and not just the first wave being split in two like the U.S. got with some previous themes like Power Miners and Atlantis. Don't get me wrong, more sets is generally a good thing, but I'll have to see what these two sets actually include before I know whether I'd prefer to have more. There are lots of other themes competing for my attention this year, after all, so I won't mind if it doesn't take a lot of sets to complete my 2014 Ninjago collection to my satisfaction. In the 2013 Ninjago lineup you had to get every set except the Golden Dragon to get all the new minifigures (arguably, you could get the Golden Dragon in place of the Temple of Light since Garmadon and Wu had no exclusive new parts, but you'd have to swipe the crest from General Kozu's helmet to complete the Helmet of Shadows). I would have balked at this in a year as big as 2011 or 2012 (even without having to get every set in those years, I never managed to get all the Serpentine minifigures — I lack Lasha, Spitta, Lizaru, and Pythor), but in a year with fewer than ten sets total it's a lot more manageable. Of course, we also don't know if there might be any store exclusive sets in the summer that we haven't heard about yet. It's certainly not impossible. Remember how long it took to confirm the existence of 70726 Destructoid? Edited January 3, 2014 by Aanchir Quote

LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 You also have to look At the fact that the Lego Ninjago movie will come out next year. If it has the promo behind it like the Lego Movie does, then we'll see a huge line next year. Quote
legoIgor123 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 So a whole bunch on Ninjago sets in one year? Almost like its to make up for no summer wave last year and not as many this year. Also, over on the Lego Movie thread, I heard that out favourite ZX green ninja may be in a set in summer! Is this true? Quote
