Tobias_Jay Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) Pictures of the designers and sets in the LEGO Movie Essential Guide show Lloyd in the Police Dropship set. So yes, if you missed out on him in 2012 here's another chance at getting him. Can I also say that the head and hair from Ma Cop (70809) would be great for a custom Edna (Jay's Mother). Those combined with the S3 Pilot's torso and Argus Filch's legs . Perfect! Edited January 4, 2014 by Wall E2624 Quote

LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 This is believed, but it will be just the ZX varaition. Quote
Aanchir Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 This is believed, but it will be just the ZX varaition. This is probably true since it's the variant that shows up in the LEGO Movie and on the marketing materials. However, I have to wonder if it will use Lloyd's new face from the 2014 sets. After all, since the expressions of figs in the LEGO Movie do change, it's not like the new expression would be inaccurate. And it would save TLG the trouble of pulling a decoration out of retirement. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 True, I was just hoping that with the movie we'd get something new for Lloyd because he's so fresh in out minds Quote
Infernum Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Two new sets? They sound great! Can't wait for more info! Quote

Lord Business' Robo Police have invaded Cloud Cuckoo Land in their high-tech Dropship and are in hot pursuit of Emmet, Batman™, Green Ninja and Johnny Thunder! With a pair of Robo SWATs at the controls in the dual cockpit, fire up the rocket boosters for Pursue Emmet and the Master Builders in the awesome Dropship! Quote
PenPlays Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 (edited) That's already been discussed, and pretty much revealed, in the Movie set thread, but hey! Another 2012 Lloyd won't hurt anyone. To be honest, Johnny Thunder is the only reason to get that set anyway. (and might I say that I am ecstatic that they actually used his real name, as opposed to what they did to poor Lloyd... Calling him adventurer would have okay, but Lego would have been ridding this generation of one of the most important minifigs in Lego's Action Theme culture.) Faefrost Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Then the "city" in Battle for Ninjago city, is completely unnecessary. Why name a set battle for Ninjago city when they could just very much call it "battle or ninjago". The name is misleading, and I don't see why call it "battle for ninjago city" if there's no city. It's recreating the scene from the show that is the " Battle for Ninjago City". Just as the LotR "Mines of Moria" set does not show anything resembling a mine in it. It's simply staging a scene that takes place in the Mines of Moria. Quote

The "Mines of Moria" set still shows a lot of interior scenery of the Mines of Moria, though, so I don't think that's an especially good example. Nobody's under the impression that "Battle for Ninjago City" will contain the whole city, just bits and pieces like the "Mines of Moria" set. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Destructoid is a Target Exclusive. http://www.target.co..._1_34&term=lego Edited January 9, 2014 by Dr.Cogg Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 ^ Thanks for that, I'm still quite debating over buying it, since my only "want" in that set is a regular rebooted version of Zane. Quote
Kalhiki Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 ^ Thanks for that, I'm still quite debating over buying it, since my only "want" in that set is a regular rebooted version of Zane. In all honesty, it's one of my favorite sets from the wave. A bit pricey, but cool overall. After all, it's a tank with arms! Also, I just noticed that Garmadon and Lloyd have the same hairpiece. Thought that was interesting. Quote
EdWebhead Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 A bit of a random thought, but wouldn't be awesome if we got a D2C set of Borg Tower, something like over 2000 pieces? I would be really cool to get a set like this from Ninjago. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Agreed a Borg Tower would bE awesome i'v Lready developed an Idea for a custom, but don't have the correct pieces to build it. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I hope we get set descriptions soon. Every other theme, but Agents, has set descriptions for 2014 summer sets. That's already been discussed, and pretty much revealed, in the Movie set thread, but hey! Another 2012 Lloyd won't hurt anyone. To be honest, Johnny Thunder is the only reason to get that set anyway. (and might I say that I am ecstatic that they actually used his real name, as opposed to what they did to poor Lloyd... By using Green Ninja it just takes more light off of him and more on "the Speical" Quote
Aanchir Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Also, I just noticed that Garmadon and Lloyd have the same hairpiece. Thought that was interesting. Yep! They also have the same hair in the show, even in flashbacks of Garmadon when he was younger. Young Garmadon's face was also near-identical to Lloyd's. I like that the creators of the show put forth a concerted effort to create a family resemblance. Speaking of resemblances, now that I have 70725 Nindroid MechDragon, I have to say I really love the Sensei Garmadon figure's face. It is very plainly the same character as Lord Garmadon from previous arcs — that much is conveyed by his forehead wrinkles and distinctively-shaped eyebrows. But he also seems like a very trustworthy, if gruff, mentor character. His robes feature some of the same calligraphy as Sensei Wu DX (black robes). Nya's car also has an amazing flick-fire mechanism. Sometimes the pieces get out of alignment resulting in odd failures where the flick missile just catapults forward slightly or even starts flipping backwards, but it's still a beautiful concept to have the flick missiles rise up from a concealed position and then shoot forward with incredible momentum. The MechDragon itself is a beautiful design. The saw blade mechanism is cool and unique, and it's got a very formidable physique. It fits together magnificently. My one big criticism of it is that the tail-swinging function is not as good as that of Epic Dragon Battle or Earth Dragon Defense. I think it needs more weight on the last tail section. Quote

That feature seemed so amazing on the box, but I found it to be terribly executed. Love the buggy itself though, so a minor nitpick. Quote

I had a similar problem until I realized that they work far better when you push the trigger gently to raise the missiles and THEN push it hard to fire them. It still doesn't work 100% of the time this way, but it does work much better than if you try to fire them in one hard motion. EDIT: New Ninjago summer set images! http://www.pockyland.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=59473 It's not what I was expecting... but that's not to say I'm disappointed. SoupOrFishOil Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Ninjago is getting another temple? I hope that this one lives up to the Fire Temple! Quote

But I still think the buggy's awesome. One of my favorite vehicles from Ninjago. As for the new sets: cool that we're getting a temple. Can't wait to see better pictures. Quote
obsidianheart Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Hang-Glider Zane looks not-robot. Guess I won't need that Destructoid after all. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Both of those pictures must be for one set and I assume that set is Battle for Ninjago City. It's a shame that we probably aren't getting an Overlord Dragon or Borg Tower. I am still very interested to see more pictures. Bring on Toy Fair! Quote
TheRedGuy Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I'm guessing that the minifigure in the black walker thingy is the Overlord? Quote
