PenPlays Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Dat Pagoda Temple :wub_drool: Could be one set, but there's a good chance that that's all we're getting. I'm content, after I find out who that villain is... Quote
DraikNova Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 That dragon's head in the temple made me wonder what the megablocks was going on, as it looked like a Mixels figure. And the Overlord Mecha-chair-walker-thingy is confusing, to say the least. Golden spider legs as railing and a SW missile launcher both feature in the build, but the figure has armor with golden pauldrons and a strangely elongated helmet. Meanwhile, the one visible back leg appears to have half a shuriken stuck in it. As far as I can judge from two blurry pictures, the temple seems slightly disappointing. Quote
Shakar Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 The Overlord wears.. gold armour? Seems kind of unfitting. He should wear something black or titanium metallic.. but I'm looking forward to see him in a clearer shot. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Personally, I'm hoping the finalized version wears something closer to General Cryptor's armor, which is an absolutely beautiful mold. Quote
Infernum Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Cool, the Overlord is wearing Gundabad armor? Quote
Aanchir Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 At least you can get them to work. I can't get them to fire. At all. What do you mean "can't get them to fire at all"? Are they not shooting forward, or are they not even coming all the way out of the launcher? Either way, try inserting and removing them from a Technic hole multiple times or triggering the launch mechanism multiple times. Just like some hinge functions, I feel like flick missiles have to be "worn in" a little bit to reduce their friction if you want them to be most effective. I get far fewer "misfires" with the buggy now than when I first built it. Quote
Lego Spy Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 That dragon's head in the temple made me wonder what the megab****s was going on, as it looked like a Mixels figure. As far as I can judge from two blurry pictures, the temple seems slightly disappointing. Now that you mention it, it really does look like something from Mixels. And as you mentioned, the temple does seem to be lacking something, but I won't judge yet, as we can only see about 1/4 of the whole temple. Ninjago is getting another temple? I hope that this one lives up to the Fire Temple! This isn't the Legend of Zelda thread! Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Here's the ninjago set list: 70727 X-1 Ninja Charger – 426 pcs – $40 70728 Battle for Ninjago City – 1223 pcs – $120 Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) Awesome! I'm so glad we have a location set this year. Edited January 11, 2014 by Sir Brickalot Quote
Kaijumeister Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) Nice to see the Overlord finally getting a minifigure of his own! Looking forward to seeing how the full temple looks like. I finally managed to pick up my first Rebooted sets; Thunder Raider, Kai's Fighter, and Destructoid. Opened the Thunder Raider and am absolutely loving it, job well done by Lego! Now I'm thinking of refunding Destructoid and getting the NinjaCopter instead. Edited January 11, 2014 by Kaijumeister Quote
DraikNova Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 What was the parts count on the Fire Temple? Quote
Kalhiki Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 What do you mean "can't get them to fire at all"? Are they not shooting forward, or are they not even coming all the way out of the launcher? Just like some hinge functions, I feel like flick missiles have to be "worn in" a little bit to reduce their friction if you want them to be most effective. I get far fewer "misfires" with the buggy now than when I first built it. Well, at first they would get stuck when you tried to fire them. Like, you'd push the trigger and the missile got stuck in the hole right before it should have launched out. Now they somehow magically flip backwards when they're fired. So at least they're shooting out now. I guess you're right in saying that they need to be worn in. Hopefully a few more attempts will get it working properly. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 What was the parts count on the Fire Temple? It had 1174 pieces, so the battle for ninjago city has more pieces Quote
ReZourceman Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Freaking. Sweet. Obviously blurry as hell, but the temple/building looks amazing, and as someone already said....no need to get another Zane set (because I don't really like either). Quote
legoIgor123 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Wow. Just wow. These pictures are pretty brilliant. So what can we tell by these pics? - Another Zane - OverLord!! - Awesome Temple - Awesome Temple - Awesome Temple Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Here's the ninjago set list: 70727 X-1 Ninja Charger – 426 pcs – $40 70728 Battle for Ninjago City – 1223 pcs – $120 Thanks but I think you're a tad late to the party, no worries though, since it's always nice to contribute. http://s407.photobucket.com/user/vicnasty8333/media/img_0993.jpg.html I think I'm the only person here who thinks this looks like a Chima Scorpion walker. The weapon even looks like something from Chima. Quote

It just seemed like you were reporting the set lists over the prices since that was what you announced, I just misread what you said, but still. Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Actually both were listed with the names when I found them. Still, where'd you get this info? You've been posting similar stuff in other theme threads. -Sci Edited January 12, 2014 by CM4S Quote
Mandate Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Regarding the Overlord, the gold does not surprise me whatsoever given the current plot of him trying to use Lloyd's powers to recreate himself. Can we PLEASE put spoiler tags on these? The set images contain some major spoilers as to what happens in the later parts of the story, regardless of whether or not the minifigure is the Overlord or not. Quote

Who knows if that is who we think it is? It could just be a new character. Quote
Mandate Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I think it's pretty obvious it is who we think it is. Otherwise it's not the epic-climax build-up, it would be like having the Great Devourer not actually be released at all, it basically just says "ha ha, you watched the entire tv show and waited six months for nothing lolololol!" Pulp Detective Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Can someone tell me who is that Overlord character?? Quote

Not so much Mixels so much as more Chima Legend beast I thought. That same kind of blocky organic feel that they are doing this year. The Sentinel in the X-Men set has the same feel to him. It might just be the aggressive use of the new small ball and socket bricks, and away from Constraction elements. I don't know how you all can read much of anything from that blurry overlord picture? All I can tell is the Overlords coloring seems to be Black with Gold Trim or highlight coloring? Quote
DraikNova Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 That picture is just one real "foot" segment of the vehicle and the rest of what you can see is just the box art. It all has to do with the perspective from which you look at it. At first I thought it was some sort of absurd bipedal vehicle. Quote
