I think we can almost guarantee that we will be seeing more Ninjago sets past 2014. Apparently while discussing the sequel to The Lego Movie it came out why Phil Lord and Chris Miller would not be writing the Lego Movie sequel themselves. Not enough time. They will be too busy writing and directing the Ninjago Movie.

The show in higher quality movie format from what I heard.

It would be hard for them to transfer the now timeless designs of all the ninja into a more human format (not to mention stop motion format-a la The Lego Movie).

IMDB also credits the present cast of the show for the movie as well!

Wow, the Overlord looks FANTASTIC. Now that's how a top bad guy should look. I used to dislike the gold but it does blend with black, purple and red really well and the printing on him is gorgeous. Even though I won't buy the sets I just have to get my hands on this guy, like when I bought myself a few Stone Army minifigs (which are absoloutely beautiful, BTW).

Nya's new printing looks great too. If I'm not mistaken, she's not using her old mouth piece, but the new one the Stone Army figures used without the teeth printing. It's nice to see a previously printed piece without printing, though I prefer the smaller, more subdued piece (though samurai helmets and masks were often meant to look big and scary).

Shakar because he has gold is probably because he took Lloyd's golden energy. I was also looking at pictures from toy fair and a little circle thing said some of the story and it said something about a prophesied destructor "The Golden Master". The overlord?

I know that's the reason, but since I don't follow the story I was looking at him from a purely aesthetic perspective. I thought the gold looked tacky, but that goes for the preliminary version- now I think the printing is gorgeous.

The only thing I would change about the minifig would probably be his helmet, or at least make it gold since he's essentially a being of black energy wearing gold armour. Colour coding matters.

Strange, another prophecy? I sincerely hope the TV show does not take this route, because after Season 3... well, too many prophecies more or less, because if they do this it will effectively mean every single plot NINJAGO ever had had a prophecy behind it, and this year was seemingly going to break that.

No, Season 3 actually had some good prophecies in it. But I don't see how a prophecy of a "golden master" makes sense, considering the "golden master" is clearly the Overlord and other prophecies stated that the battle with the Overlord would be the final battle with the Overlord. Granted, Cyrus did muck that up a bit, but at the end of the day unless there's a group of ancient Samurai Warriors trained in the art of Samurai-jitsu there's no one else who would have needed to make a prophecy about the Overlord.

It could just be me, but the Overlord minifig looks like it has a bit too much going on, I think if he lost the giant walker and had proper legs or a snake tail I may like him more. I don't follow the show or canon in any way so I'm not sure if it serves a purpose to his character, but it looks like a jumbled mess in my opinion. The shrine is looking real nice though.

"Everything is Awesome" was fine and dandy for TLM, but using that as part of NINJAGO would completely obliterate its two music requirements: 1) It must fit in with the NINJAGO style (look at Jay Vincent's works on Youtube, ever since Episode 11 NINJAGO's music has a clear style of it's own until episode 26), or at least techno in some way (too early too tell with that style) and 2) If not the former, must be the Fold. "Everything is Awesome" violates the bit about the Fold, and the song is dubstep, not techno. It's also going to be pretty ridiculous to have that song in NINJAGO anyway...

I believe he was referring to The Fold song A-W-E-S-O-M-E not Everything is Awesome. Though I now wonder what Everything is Awesome would sound like if The Fold did there own version of it using the original lyrics.

Oh... now I see what he meant Sorry about that. But I doubt they'll use A-W-E-S-O-M-E anyway, because NINJAGO has had (other than last year) a new "song" each year. It'll be pretty late to use A-W-E-S-O-M-E by that point really.
