BrickBuilder3213 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) I've been counting how many Nindroids we get, without any spare General Cryptors included... ...We get a total of 12 Nindroids, 7 of which are Nindroid Soldiers, 3 of which are Nindroid Drones, one Mindroid and of course, General Cryptor. PenPlays Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Does the little brick built droid have a proper title? Yes. Recon Nindroid. Quote

PenPlays Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Apparently the one in X-1 charger is a Nindroid also. So 13 Honestly, I wouldn't count the Recon Nindroid. If you are counting any of the villains that are directly related to "Ninja" in either name or ability, then technically Tech Wu would count as a Nindroid as well (despite being a cyborg as opposed to a droid). Can I say something about those new flick-missiles? They are extremely functional and the cannon-brick can be loaded from either side. The Charger comes with three missiles. Two for the Engine/cannon and one in "storage" on one of the two hinges on the side of the set. The Charger itself is beautiful. It's worth every penny, actually. It's large in size, and quite brick-filled (Unlike Cole's Tread Assault from 2012, which shared the same price as the charger). There are no new minifigures, sadly (no armored Kai). The Motorcycle is also really, really nice. On that note, you can launch the bike by pressing in the exhaust flame. You have to lift up the hood manually, however, as Kai's head will smack on the lowered windshield. Quote

PenPlays Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 We have a release date for the Ninjago Movie! You'll be surprised however to find out that it is September 23, 2016. A whole year later than we expected. What will Lego do for 2015? Well lets hope that another hiatus isn't in store. Quote

No, we already have received confirmation of new TV episodes in 2015 from a Cartoon Network press release. Honestly, I never really expected the Ninjago movie to be coming out in 2015. It was just greenlit this year, and there's no way we'd get a high-quality theatrical movie with less than two years development time. The LEGO Movie was in development for around six years! Obviously, the development of The LEGO Movie and the Ninjago TV series helped lay some groundwork that future LEGO movies can build on, hence why neither this nor the sequel to The LEGO Movie will take nearly as long to develop, but a 2015 release date seemed overly optimistic from the get-go. I thought the movie was green lit back at the beginning of the year, after the uproar of Ninjago being retired. And then it got kicked into overdrive and given a big theatrical budget when TLM hit it big? Quote

And then it got kicked into overdrive and given a big theatrical budget when TLM hit it big? In any case, it's still a roughly three year development time, which is pretty reasonable for a theatrical film. If it were a direct-to-DVD movie it would make more sense for development to just take a year or a year and a half — but the quality would be more on par with Clutch Powers or the BIONICLE films than with The LEGO Movie. A longer development time should result in a more well-polished (and hopefully more well-received) movie than previous direct-to-DVD fare. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I was under the impression that the new sets didn't comeout until sept or aug. According to the email from Lego I got...the X-1 Ninja Charger came out today. Quote

The TRU across the street has both of them as well. Quote

A real surprise to me that it and the Battle for Ninjago City are not being released simultaneously, since I thought they were part of the same wave. Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I've seen them both at TRU a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't know their release dates were supposedly separate. Quote

Marketing sure had interesting ideas this year with all the different release dates for different themes and apparently in the themes. Quote

Actually no. All themes are currently on schedule. -TRU always gets the June sets first in early/mid May. -Lego Store slowly gets the same sets at the same time. Usually identically stocked by the 25th. -Every other store that received stock shelves the sets on June 1st-7th. There is then a group of Summer sets set aside for August. This allows fresh Lego to be stocked every two/three months. Edited May 26, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote

No sign of summer chima, herofactory, starwars is online, but all of ultra agents has been released. So for the summer wave for shop at home, it is very sporadic. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Which would be a better deal? 1. X-1 Ninja Charger & Destructoid 2. Ninjacopter & Thunder Raider Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Content-wise I would go for the Charger and Destructoid. Both look better to me, and have really clever play features. Quote

Maniac4Legos Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Aw, I was ninja'd. I guess it's pretty cool! Don't worry about being ninja'd! I thought you told me you weren't trying to be the most popular :( Quote

Lyichir Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Which would be a better deal? 1. X-1 Ninja Charger & Destructoid 2. Ninjacopter & Thunder Raider Are you taking figs into consideration? Because I recently learned that there apparently will be an activity book featuring the exclusive Zane figure from Destructoid for a much cheaper price. While I love the look of the X-1 Ninja Charger (and intend to get it rather than the less-impressive Kai Fighter), I own the Ninjacopter and it too is a great set, with two exclusive figs to boot. And while I also love the look of the Thunder Raider, its Techno Blade and Jay figure appear in the Battle for Ninjago City, and its Cole figure appears with an exclusive Techno Blade in the low-priced Hover Hunter. Perhaps for now you could get the Ninja Charger and the Ninjacopter, and save up for the Battle for Ninjago City and Hover Hunter later in the year? Quote
