Aanchir Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 There's going to be a Ninjago panel at Comic-Con according to this article, featuring writers Dan and Kevin Hageman, designers Simon Lucas and Tommy Andreasen, and marketing director Brian Bowler. Hope somebody reports on the goings-on there! Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 The Battle for Ninjago City is sooo awesome! Te Overlord's Tri-Walker is so cool! Not to mention the building aka the Temple of Fortitude (not much of a spoiler) is so nice. My only quarm with the set is the laconic wall between the jail and te area with the stair contraption. Not really much of jail, but easily fixable. Also I noticed the black and red sticker on the box in the set had the same symbol that's on the small folding wings of Zane's NinjaCopter. Weird...overall a nice set! 9.5 out of 10 just because Jay should have had a new suit and the lack of jail wall. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Still no news about the Character Encyclopedia's exclusive minifigure. :c Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I heard there would be a preview at The SDCC Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Still no news about the Character Encyclopedia's exclusive minifigure. :c I think we will hear more news on the character encyclopedia at comic con, there's going to be a DK book booth there, so we might see who the exclusive minifigure is at comic con! The Chosen Minifigure Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Since bionic le is coming back next year, if it's Minifigure scale like this years Hero Factory imagine a Ninjago/Bionicle crossover. Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Is Bionicle truly confirmed? Those images could be fake (but don't start that argument here). I seriously doubt a crossover with Ninjago. It's jumped enough sharks already. Quote

It's jumped enough sharks already. It hasn't been confirmed by LEGO official, but a rep accidentally confirmed it, a designer said a new constraction theme is coming out next year, and these two separate rumors do too. Quote
Agent Fusion Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) Not only that, but an alleged list of set names have been released from a reliable source (a Russian shopping site). Edited July 15, 2014 by Agent Fusion Quote
Starrocks923 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Hey guys, can we please keep discussions involving other new or rereleased themes in its respective topics, and maybe put what has already been mentioned in jammers? It's going off the topic of Ninjago, and it's probably best to keep it a surprise for users who somehow haven't heard yet. As for the book, I imagine it could be sold at Comic Con. The reveal is a given, they have done it before. I remember the Minifigure for the Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary being spoiled on my LSW poster. Quote
Agent Fusion Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Back to the book, I'm sure it'll be either Nya, Pythor or Dareth as the figure. Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I am personally really really hoping it is Pythor (one of my favourite characters actually), and if it is, I'm buying the book for sure. If it's anyone else, I'll be more "meh, I'll pick it up later when the price drops a little". I'll be watching out for any book related announcements with enthusiasm. Quote
PenPlays Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Back to the book, I'm sure it'll be either Nya, Pythor or Dareth as the figure. At the moment, we can't really be "sure" of anything. Heck we may even get Lloyd with a new outfit that will match next years Ninja... again. Speaking of new minifigs for the Ninja (spoilers contain info about the most recent episodes that aired in the US) In "Enter the Digiverse" we see Zane, Cole, Jay, and Kai tap into Lloyd's Golden energy that is seeping into the Digiverse (to revive the Digital Overlord). Having golden versions of all the Ninja would be beyond cool, especially with the outfits that they have this year. That adds yet another four possible characters for the encyclopedia minifig. Quote
Agent Fusion Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I'm just saying who I think is most likely, although golden ninja team would be beyond cool. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I have a feeling that it will be Zane's forth "outfit", the one that we've only seen in the series finale... I'm hoping it will be a slightly chrome figure, if that's the case. Quote
BrickBuilder3213 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 The UK release date for the new book is October 1st. On Monday, (if you have Facebook) if you go here, they're going to reveal the minifigure! Quote
Krulis Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 How is it supposed to be exclusive? Isn't it version from Destructoid? Book related minifigs are very unorginal this year: -this -"classic" Luke -Firox (only things distinguishing him from Frax is googles print) The only decent one seems to be new Palpatine. Quote
Mandate Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Yeah, that's really disappointing considering it's in another book and Destructoid (side note, Destructoid is not an LE set in Aus, could be exclusive though as I've only found it in Big W stores) Let's hope that the book will be more accurate than the last Visual Dictionary, because in short the original had next to no accuracy on the plot line (and thus a lot of mistakes were made about characters, Lloyd as the Green Ninja was made out to be more or less the same as the original appearance of Samurai X and eventual reveal as Nya) Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) Yeah, that's really disappointing considering it's in another book and Destructoid (side note, Destructoid is not an LE set in Aus, could be exclusive though as I've only found it in Big W stores) Yeah, Destructoid was advertised as a Big W exclusive in AUS. With so many opportunities for exclusive minifigs, this is a disappointing surprise. I imagine LEGO told them it was an exclusive minifigure before they put him in Destructoid. It would be a wonderful exclusive if he wasn't included in Destructoid. Of course this won't stop me from buying this book. I was going to try and get it regardless of what the figure was going to be. Edited July 21, 2014 by Wall E2624 Quote
Mandate Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Indeed. Glad to know it's an exclusive, that way I don't have to be expecting to find it all year only to find utter failure (I get enough of that at my school, ugh). I'm hoping to buy everything I can of this wave. For me, the value of collecting a line diminishes the closer to discontinuation it gets :/ . Quote
RaginSpartan86 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 There goes all of my hopes and dreams for a Pythor figure. :( Quote

Don't forget Naya from the LEGO Friends Character Encyclopedia, who was entirely assembled from existing elements. I agree it's disappointing, though at least this gets me a fig I hadn't finished deciding on how to get (since I don't yet own the Destructoid and was contemplating getting either that or the activity book). I would have been a LOT more miffed if I had preordered this book only to wind up with a figure I already owned. Quote
