it would be great if they did give everyone an XL set. personally, i'm looking forward to Stringer XL and Bulk XL

Well I want Nex XL with his crazy tech things and Evo would be awesome as well.

Otherwise great job with this wave, Lego. Dragon, big, real, dragon! Big Stormer and Surge and Evo. If Rocka's jetpack is useable by others, then why not, but really too much Rocka. Anyone has any idea what will Frost beast' weapons look like? It has Pyrox claw in ice colors, but will it have his staff thing too? I hope for something different.

And great pics everyone who found/screenshoted them. :classic:

While I'm really looking forward to Stormer and Surge, I'm a bit on the fence about Dragon Bolt. Something about his built looks kinda awkward, judging from the pictures. But I'm optimistic that will change once we see the actual set (besides, he's blue, so I'll probably get him just for parts anyway).

So the Villains (except Dragon Bolt, maybe) are "swarm sets". Well, 7 creatures alone couldn't threaten HF, and since the pods landed in planets presumably inhabitated by dozens of the target creatures..

Planets? No sir! Planet. In case you didn't notice, they all WALKED into Makuhero City, so the pods landed in the areas around it.

I wonder if they're going to try to integrate a function into Bolt Dragon's wings. Seems like a prime candidate for it.

If so, I hope it works well.

The big chunk of Technic on his back makes me think that a wing flapping gimmick is totes happening.

So all those animals were living on Makuhero City's planet? Well, that explains how they got to HF and why the slugs were sent in that specfic planet.

And I agree, Dragon Bolt is getting a wing flapping mechanism. Still better than Scarox's and Bruizer's features.

Oh and I forgot, thanks a lot for the screenshots Zachattacx and Vynil.

Uh

When did Rocka become Optimus prime?

In all seriousness, that felt to me like a version of a transformers trailer, the fly-over camera following JetPrime/Jetrocka as he shoots at an enemy around in a city.

Regardless, Dragon bolt looks great, and his tail is going to be SPLENDID for parts.

Well, the brains did come in pods, so it remains to be seen how those factor into it, but I have a hard time believing that all of those beings are on the same asteroid (yup, Makuhero City is on an asteroid; fact!). It would be an unamusing retcon.

But yeah, Dragon Bolt. Soooooo sexy. Looking forward to that.

I imagine that they go to Makuhero City in the same rocket ships that took the brains to the various worlds in the first place. I agree I will not be that impressed if all of these bizarre creatures are from the same planetoid as Makuhero City, though on the plus side maybe the Pyrox species could in a rather bizarre way help explain Stringer's egregious "cattle wrangling" comment from Savage Planet.

I was taking a look at the mysterious character in the video, and I think I managed to make out that he has a 3M shell with either a Quaza spike or a new piece in his left arm, another 3M shell with the rounded shoulder pad, and the torso armor the heroes use in this wave. It might be just me, but I'm pretty sure this isn't Black Phantom or Von Nebula.

Well, we have no way of knowing what a VN set would look like at this point. I can only hope it would use the same mask, but who knows? Remains to be seen. Maybe we're just desperately hoping for a resolution to that particular story and seeing signs where they aren't.

At this point everyone's just taking blurry images and pointing out things they think they might see.

I say wait until we get better images before concluding anything. Like whether or not VN is the villain, or how there are obviously no titans in this wave (dragon says hi).

Dragon Bolt isn't going to be the same size as in the episode though, right? If he is that size then I have no clue how all those pieces fit inside a big box BAG.

I don't see how it could cause a problem. Furno XL's bag is fairly large, after all, and I can imagine another large bagged set this year would use that same size.

Now, what we don't know is how detailed he will be. After all, the show's animators already have a tendency to stick armor pieces where they really aren't in the sets (like on heroes' backs, etc). So his tail might be in fewer, longer segments, or might not have armor shells on every segment. Overall, though, he doesn't seem like he'd be extraordinarily big-- his torso is visibly quite small, after all. He may be a higher piece count and price point than Furno XL but I don't imagine he'd need larger packaging.

On a side note, Dragon Bolt apparently has a function where you press down on part of his back to flap his wings. Quite nice.

I dunno. If they do bring him back he could have a redesigned face. Either that or he'll resort to his prototype face.

I don't imagine so. He looks massively scaled-up.

Though I hope they didn't embellish too much on the design for the show, because it looks really good there.

Nah, the parts are pretty blown up in the episode, but aside from the texturing I think that's all the embellishment he's getting.

I'm certain Bolt Dragon (that's what I'm calling him) will look the same way he/she/it looks in the animation, minus the added texture. Most, if not, all of the armor added by the animators seem to attach in ways not possible in real life.

Then again, usually the only possible armor additions are in places that would be impossible or impractical in real life, like opposite sides of limbs. It's possible that they added a few extra tail links or added to the wings to improve the look, but I hope not.

True, well I guess we all have to wait until better images of the set to know if there is any difference or not.

Not sure how the beasts will fit in those tiny rocket ships where the braliens barely fitted. :P

I'm pretty sure Dragon Bolt will have a shorter tail, That's way too long for his price point. Shouldn't be much of an issue, though.

I am sure they wouldn't make the tail longer for the sake of the episode. Anyway, is anyone else thinking the name on each set is in fact it's species name. I am thinking of making Dragon Bolt into Bolt Dragon if that is the case to fit in with the species name idea.

I hope Dragon bolt is lacking 600% of its bricks. It currently looks like a mal nutritioned horse with a dragon head. The awful bionicle claws (as opposed to the new ones from Toxic Reapa that do not break) do not help.

The only good thing about it is the dragon head, but we have seen 5 of them in NinjaGo already.

If you look at the CGI blog link, there is another render which the file name calls a Cargo Bay. The H insigna on the walls, and the giant hole, makes it seem like they broke into HF. In fact, the extended trailer has Rocka and Dragon Bolt flying in a tunnel. So...?

The CGI models look great. Sadly, I doubt Dragon Bolt will retain his size and complexity in the set.

Aquagon looks pretty cool, too. And it also seems his knee doesn't have the regular hinge design that pretty much every set has. Instead he has something similar to Stormer XL making the knee more pose-able.

Also, TV episode-wise, loving the Jawblade billboard. Love little details like that.
