I fear UK and Europe (except Germany and Switzerland, they're alread out there) are getting the new sets in August, like the past 2 years. I wish we got them in July, like Bionicle..

I was in one of the toy shops in my city and a guy told me that Polish TLG decided that sets will be in August, not in July as always.

Whelp, the Black Brain promotion is officially live, and valid on both in-store and online. Alas, I'm a few points short of a VIP discount, so I'm going to place a small order (Aquagon...?) and then decide what to do with the points later.

I'll be going to my local Lego Store on Friday. Still got some Hero Factory purchases to round out the collection, so I can't wait to get my Black Brain that day too.

I always hate relying on the in-store promotions because sometimes they'll forget to offer and I'll forget to ask, then I'll walk out of the store without it =P.

But, given my general living situation, ordering online is neither monetarily beneficial nor expedient, so I'm going to hope they don't actually run out of them by the time I can get to my local store.

Well, yeah, but I don't like rebuys, especially when the first wave is so "meh" compared to the second wave.

I might call a UK Lego branch tomorrow to check when wave 2 is being released. Then we might finally get some confirmation. Smyths toy store are releasing them on the 26th July, so at least the sets will be available before August, plus Argos is about to release their new catalogue which will probably have the new sets. On another note though, does anyone know why there is such a difference to when the sets are released in different countries (e.g. they released in early June for the US, but the UK still hasn't got them), is it like a buisness strategy for TLC or is it just random every year to when the sets are released.

Well, some places in Europe did get it earlier, too (along with the sets earlier) so maybe you can ask your local store if they have plans on extending the promotion. Since the winter sets have been out for a bit anyway, they might have a surplus in the end as it is, and just deal out the polybag on a per-order basis.

I would, and that's a good idea. I haven't really got a local lego store though, the one that was closest was the Bullring, and that's kinda disappeared. On a side note, I've noticed they've been updating the site with new items like the Chima Croc Swamp Hideout, so I wouldn't despair just yet.

Unfortunately, I just called Bluewater Lego Store and they told me that they don't have an exact date to when they are coming out - just that it will be somewhere in August (silent cry... :I ). They did, however, tell me to call later this month to double check, maybe we'll be lucky? I guess the best thing to do is to ask your closest Lego Store near the end of the month to see if they get stock early so that you could get the promotion with the new sets.

I tried to ask Lego directly (relating to S@H), but the gist of it is that they can't talk about yet-to-be-released sets, by their policy. But I know it's going to be August 1st like 2012..

All themes are available on S@H, save for HF and Castle.
