MakutaNocturn Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 UM guys there are some strange things on brickipedia, I would like you to tell me if YOU know what are these: 67895 Calender King 43564Dark Maker 54678 Dark Stringer Then is also: Online Games: Fate of Villainy ...and a title :Antagonist Team-Up is on the List of hero variations, all on the same URL: http://lego.wikia.co...ki/Hero_Factory , so that could probably be new info?... I think it's fake but time travells would be great in Hero Factory. Quote
DraikNova Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) This is undoubtedly fake. And a pretty bad try at making plausible names, as well. Edited May 26, 2013 by DraikNova Quote
xxlrocka Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 "Time Travel" In case that actually happens, I should let you guys know that I called it. And Dark Maker sounds like one of the horrible, unoriginal names I might come up with. Dark Stringer actually sounds like a working name for a model that might actually be real, though, so I wouldn't call fake on it straight away. Quote
Kalhiki Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Fake. Fakety fake. That's all I have to say. Though Dark Maker sounds like a pretty cool character. Not the name, but the idea. Maybe change the name so it has "shadow" in it. Always love some shadow themed villains. @exxtrooper: Cool to hear they're available. Maybe we'll see them at other retail stores now like Walmart so I don't need to pay TRU mark-up prices. Kalhiki Quote
Aanchir Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 These names seem terribly implausible, and the numbers seem like they came from someone who realized "hey, the switch to 5-digit numbers frees up a lot of potential numbers for fake sets!" but didn't realize that all the new numbers this year tend to follow very specific rules within their particular themes. Overall, it's the same deal as "Rampant Oceans" and "Empire of Frost"... someone tried and failed to identify a pattern that would let them make convincing "predictions". Quote
Bigger Fish Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 Dark maker was the name of the guy who launched the brain attack in the TV special. Quote

Dorek Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 So, back to talking about real things... I love that LEGO actually advertises Jet Rocka's jet (best name ever!) as being compatible with other Heroes. Don't like Rocka? Switch him out. Quote
vexorian Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 The real question is though: Is it compatible with other heroes? I mean, this wave has some relevant variations in hero size and shape. Quote

Cahillrebel Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lego Jang made a revamp of Jet Rocka with Nex! Quote
Takanuinuva Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I saw it. Its nice. I've actually reverse engineered The Jet Rocka build from Jang's review of it. Took a lot of quick pausing to see how its built. I have my own revamp of it but before I can post it I need to get Brain Attack Surge and Stormer for there shield pieces. My real life revamp won't have exact colors but I have an Ldd file for that. I could post the Ldd file of my revamp if you all want it. Quote
Aanchir Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lego Jang made a revamp of Jet Rocka with Nex! Not fond of the amount of orange added to the jetpack. Not only does it make it less streamlined (and its lack of streamlining is one of the original model's weaknesses IMO), but I never see the point of a vehicle matching the color of the person who pilots it. It just makes it that much harder to tell where the vehicle ends and the pilot begins, whereas a contrasting color scheme (like Drop Ship, Rockoh T3, Axalara T9, etc.) is much more effective. Swapping out the transparent bright green parts for orange parts makes little sense anyway, as Nex already has Transparent Bright Green in his color scheme and the vehicle itself still has a Transparent Bright Green windscreen. Quote
Chro Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Eh... I need to build a good vehicle MOC soon, it's been a while since I've done that. Quote
Cahillrebel Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I actually find that I like the jetpack. He tried to add new parts to it to ma,e it unique to Nex. Plus, the orange on the jetpack looks good as well. Quote

New parts to make it unique to Nex would be fine if there were a justification other than trying to match the pilot's armor color, which does more harm than good. More unique doesn't have to equal worse. Orange on the jetpack would work better if the orange parts being added were as streamlined as the ones they were replacing. This is not the case. Suddenly the blades which were previously a clear part of the wing itself feel like arbitrary add-ons, and the air intakes are far less smooth and enclosed. Quote

I agree on that score. Besides, in our world vehicles don't match what drivers and pilots wear ( mostly). Quote
Chro Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Well, they sometimes do (for example, a racecar driver's jumpsuit will have the same company colors as the car). But I still prefer to keep them separated to some degree, like the Rockoh, Axalara, Jetrax, etc. as mentioned by Aanchir. Quote
Cahillrebel Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Ok. I see what you guys are saying. I forgot about the fact that the other HF vehicles were not Hero color based. Still, very good build with a couple things the should have been kept the same. I do like the retractable jet pack stand. Quote
pocketmego Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Well there is a bit of precedent. Furno's bike is Furno colored (and completely transforms his feet into 2001 Toa feet for some reason). Stormer XL's made up bike matched. But, even given those examples, the way Rocks found the Jetpack means it was meant to be a multipurpose multi-user vehicle. Quote
