Vinyl Scratch Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) I really want someone to buy it and upload it to YouTube for the love of everything that's LEGO. EDIT: Oh nevermind, Edited December 10, 2012 by Vinyl Scratch Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Double post I know, but I think this is worthwhile. The Legends of Chima constraction sets, we're led to assume: 70200 Laval 70201 Eris 70202 Gorzan 70203 Cragger 70204 Worriz 70205 Razar Eris, YES! Sweet news. To be honest I'm looking forward to ALL of them, especially Cragger. Can't wait to see all the new heads. Are those confirmed for a summer 2013 release? Quote
Shakar Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Yup: The Chima line is said to "include construction play-sets, social game Speedorz, six Hero-Factory style buildable figures and board games, with the latter two arriving in August". Source: http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=5004 And, for the record, these are the characters they're going to use (Gorzan, the gorilla, is missing for obvious reasons). Yeah, I did that ugly collage work. Did you notice that, aside from the birds (who never wear them anyway) they chose all cape wearing characters? Gorzan probably is the Gorilla leader, so he/she's likely going to wear one too. Furno XL's cape makes so much more sense now.. Oh, and we're finally going to see proper bird wings for constraction figures. They have NO EXCUSES this time! Quote
DraikNova Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) What I've been wanting for years is a flexible wing piece. That would make dragon MOCs a lot easier. The fact that LEGO's going to make feathered wings makes me wonder what sort of techniques will be used. Edited December 10, 2012 by DraikNova Quote
ZORK64 Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 At first thanks to Zachattacx and Shakar for the clarification and the tip to memorize them. Okay, both Razan and Eris might become insta-buys, depending on wings and such. And I got just right now the glorious vision of building Optimus Primal, if Gorzan comes with the right parts to pull it off. When I'm thinking about it... Cragger could also might be a good template for BW Megatron, and Worriz has also good chances because of the wolf theme... so I most likely end up buying all of them except for Laval (unless he comes with really cool gear - I like him colour-wise, judging from the minifig pic). Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Eris and Razar will possibly be my favourite Constraction sets depending on how they look. But most likely they will look great, hopefully. Quote
TheRedGuy Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Darn you, Front for lowering my expectations! Now let's stop talking about Chima before a mod reminds us that this is not the Chima topic. :p Quote
Jouster Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I'm glad we're getting the leaders of each Chima clan, so far we've seen Laval (well, a shadowy-figure thing that looks like a constraction set). I might pick up some of these sets if they are really good, but Cragger, Razar,Warriz and Eris are a must, for me at least. This reminds me a bit of the 3.0 sets, animal-themed and whatnot but much much better. We'll probably get pictures soon, we usually get leaks around December-January, and if we don't get any leaks for summer, like it happened for the winter-spring line, we still have Toy Fair. (It's in February, I think) Quote
Jetrax99 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 As TheRedGuy said, this is not the topic for Chima sets. This is for HF 2013 and I'd like it to stay that way. Plus, there's barely anything to discuss about the Chima figures. Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Maybe we could have a Chima 2013 constraction topic? I hope Eris' and Razar's wings turn out to be a new mold, and not like something like Ultrabuild Batman's. Also I'm guessing Gorzan will use a Hulk/Stormer XL ish build. That's assuming that the sets are at the same price point as the Ultrabuilds/larger HF figures. Anyhow, definitely looking forward to these sets more than the HF ones. Quote
Cirkit Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 A 'Chima Constraction' topic sounds good. I wish they'd used a gorilla in 'Savage Planet'. Oh well. Bet it'll look good. Talking about Hero Factory for a moment, does anyone think that Breez, Rocka, and Bulk have back armor? It doesn't appear that way from any of the images. Shame. I imagine Furno will, because he's an XL set, and if that doesn't have back armor, that'll stink. I wonder if any of the villains have back armor.. I imagine Bruizer won't, judging by the new image, and the construction of his right arm, but I hope at least one of the others do. Quote
DraikNova Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I think Scarox might use some of it's technic back for adding back armor. Quote
Shakar Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Breez, Bulk, Rocka and Scarox most likely won't as they are 9 euro sets. Furno wears a cape....doesn't bode well if you get what I mean. Bruizer..Cirkit might be right on that. : / Pyrox and Ogrum have no excuses whatsoever. Quote
ZORK64 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Just like Shakar said, Furno's cape would actually speaks against back armour, since it would beefen up his back too much and the cape would cover up any gap on the back anyway. On the plus side, that would mean more stuff at some other place of him. Quote

Bruizer..Cirkit might be right on that. : / Pyrox and Ogrum have no excuses whatsoever. Ah well. We can always modify the 9 euro sets. Almost forgot about the cape. Yeah that would do it. Yay I'm right about something No excuse for those two at all. I'd think Pyrox would at least have a black foot on his back, if not dark red to match the front of the torso. Quote
Front Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Strange that nobody bought a set yet. I guess it's a matter of days before they can be found. Quote
DarkSurgeXL Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Strange that nobody bought a set yet. I guess it's a matter of days before they can be found. Wow, didn't expect HF to be in stock so early, even before Christmas. Still, I can't find them in any online store. Quote
Kalhiki Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Strange that nobody bought a set yet. I guess it's a matter of days before they can be found. They're out!? Woohoo!!! Now I'm excited. Kalhiki Quote
ZORK64 Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Well, I wanted to go christmas shopping tomorrow anyway, so I could also check the LEGO store in town. If I get lucky, you can expect at least one HF review to the weekend. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Wait, I'm only guessing Haha, it must be awkward to have everything you say interpreted as a prophecy of things to come! I appreciate that you stick around even when we as a community are overanalyzing everything you say! I'm also a bit surprised not to see any on-shelf pics or reviews at this stage of the game. Surely it can't be long, though. Quote
DraikNova Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 It's extremely strange if you compare it to the three-month early reviews that have popped up in other themes, like Chima and Galaxy Squad. Quote
Shakar Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 Well, to be fair we had just some minifigs reviews for Chima. Galaxy Squad is the only 2013 theme out in stores (and only in a limited area of the world too). And I guess The Hobbit, too- I'm not up to date with LOTR. I wouldn't be surprised if reviews pop up before this week ends. Quote
Rocketbilly Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 I don't know about seeing reviews any time soon. As far back as I remember, Hero Factory sets always seem to come after the System-based sets. At least here in the UK that always seems the case. Quote
