Gatanui Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Btw, the first episode of Hero Factory FOX sports is up on youtube. Lol that sucks so much. :P -Gata Quote
VBBN Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 2013 villains and Furno are up on Amazon now, time for me to put this 75$ gift card to use. Unfortunately Breez, Rocka, and Bulk are MIA. Trying to get my hands on Breez, but that can wait. Planning on getting Bruizer for sure, as well as multiple Furno and Pyrox for my work on updating 'ol tyrant there. Quote
Cahillrebel Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Yea that was a terrible episode. Anyone how do you quote people like Gatanui just did. I am new and trying to figure out stuff. Quote

Aethersprite Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 What did I just watch? My reaction exactly. It was a fun watch but it made no sense at all. Is this official, made by Lego? Also, for some reason, I lost it when I saw Surge cheering wildly. I think it's because it reminded me of the whole Breakout Evo ruckus we had going on here a while back! Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Right now I'm really wondering what song they are using currently for the Brain Attack ads. It's rather catchy. ... I wonder if it's Cryoshell? EDIT: look at that CGI man Edited December 31, 2012 by Vinyl Scratch Quote
Cahillrebel Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) I can't really hear it good in the ads. Notice the villians have actual pieces covering the green head when Breez slices the slugs off. Who can see it briefly on Bruizer. Edited December 31, 2012 by Cahillrebel Quote
Zachattacx Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Intestingly enough it's not on my iPad.Mind if send a link or something so I can get it. Edited December 31, 2012 by Zachattacx Quote
LuckyShot777 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Does anybody have a guess when pics for the summer sets will be out? Because I'd like to see how these others turn out. Dragon Bolt especially sounds interesting :P Edited December 31, 2012 by LuckyShot777 Quote

Dragon Bolt especially sounds interesting :P Yeah, as Jetrax said, list is quite possibly a fabrication. But to answer your question, all prior years have had pictures released around the end of December. So unless we get them today, which I doubt, that tradition is broken. :P In January, the annual Toy Fairs start happening (I believe London is first, with Germany being second - correct me if wrong), and while photography is prohibited at the London Toy Fair, people usually manage to sneak a few pics, just not of HF sets. We did get pictures from a Toy Fair prior to the one in NY last year, however, but the location it was at eludes me. Regardless, if all else fails, we can expect set pics at the NY Toy Fair, which occurs from February 10th to the 13th. That's pretty much a definite, but hopefully we will see them before then. LuckyShot777 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Well personally I think they're real, because I've never seen a false list of sets on Brickset before. They even appear on brickipedia. IMDB I know to never trust, because every single time it's always fake. But Brickset shouldn't be wrong on this list. Yeah, as Jetrax said, list is quite possibly a fabrication. But to answer your question, all prior years have had pictures released around the end of December. I think the reason why we didn't get any pictures yet is because of the fact that I guess not many people pay much attention to Hero Factory/Action figure sets anymore. Therefore the people who leak the catalog take pictures of the more popular themes such as LOTR, Star Wars, and most recent Legends of Chima. Edited December 31, 2012 by LuckyShot777 Quote
Aanchir Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) You do know that list has a 99% chance of being fake right? Ummm, no, that's not true at all. They began to appear at the same time as the summer set lists for other themes, many of which have since been verified. So while they could be fake, there's no need for arbitrary skepticism (though there's no reason to dismiss the possibility of changes between now and summer either). And yeah, from my experience action figure sets have almost always been the last pics to get leaked within the AFOL community. Frankly, action figure themes are in many ways still treated with the same level of seriousness as Duplo sets by many AFOLs (perhaps less, since at least Duplo's target audience has an excuse not to play with what the average AFOL considers "real LEGO"). Yea it is pretty ridiculous, but you have to admit that the action figure line of legos did in fact save Lego from financial downfall with the rise of Bionicle back in the early 2000's. I guess that since Bionicle is gone now, and that Hero Factory isn't as popular is really making the whole action figure lines now obscure. It's a little worrisome how lego is making less and less hero factory sets and replacing them with other lines of figures such as the Legends of Chima ones this upcoming year. They did the same with Breakout and instead of getting multiple titan sized sets we got the very mediocre Marvel/DC heroes figures. Quote

Frankly, BIONICLE did a lot for TLG (for one, showing them how story-driven sets could pave the way for greater relevance to kids, the effects of which we continue to see today), but claims that BIONICLE was TLG's saving grace ignore that the company continued to suffer for years after BIONICLE was released, and that production changes, changes to the company structure, changes to the brand image, and the introduction of licensed themes also played a huge role in the company's turnaround in the mid-naughts. Frankly, it's easy to assume BIONICLE was the keystone in restoring TLG to its former glory, in part because a lot of press releases around that time made that same assumption. But in truth, I feel this is as narrow-minded as the assumption many others have made that LEGO Star Wars saved the company. Really, there was no silver bullet, and the company's recent turnaround can't be narrowed down to one keystone decision. I don't think that either the LEGO Super Heroes constraction sets or the Chima constraction sets are in any way symptomatic of a suffering action figure lineup. If anything, they show that TLG is aiming to expand their action figure themes to new audiences. I definitely don't see what you're talking about when you suggest Breakout suffered as a result of the Super Heroes sets, since we got nearly as many large sets in that series as we had in 2011 (Stormer XL, Speeda Demon, and Black Phantom versus Fire Lord, Scorpio, Rocka XL, and Witch Doctor-- only one "large set" fewer). Expecting a huge wave of titan-sized sets in Hero Factory is a mistake no matter what situation the theme is in, because frankly the larger price points of BIONICLE always performed more poorly in terms of sales than smaller "canister set" price points. Cirkit Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Just found a ton of Furno XLs at my local Target, but there don't appear to be any small sets yet. Shame, seeing as I really wanted to pick up a Breez that trip. None of the other stores in the area have any of the other sets.. yet. I'm hoping they come soon. The slugs in the commercial transform in a different way than in the TV episode preview.. Not bad, and the CG's good too. Quote

Just search "Lego Hero Factory" on the App Store. Note that it's not published in TLG's name. https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/lego-hero-factory-brain-attack/id583059414?mt=8 Edited January 1, 2013 by Devorath Quote

Huh, you know I've never thought of it that way. You see I've always been a fan of Bionicle since 2007, and it was the only line I ever bought from Lego. It's just I brought up those points that I did because of how back in 2010 Lego used their money to make those ben 10 sets instead of putting it in to make the bionicle stars sets what they should of been (that of which being toa sized). But I can definitely see the positives of where you're going with this. By the way when diid you get into bionicle? You seem quite experienced with them and with Lego in general. Quote
Cahillrebel Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Happy New Year for anyone living around New York. Mine is an hour later. Right now, though, I am sitting by my new mocs I made using the Furno, Bulk, and Breez I got delivered to me today. Long live the year of the brain attacks! Quote

Forgot to say this Happy New Year! Gotta love how it never ends. Seriously, first time, it was like "Over 500 enemies? What?" On a high note, the music was cool. Hope they make a full on arrangement for it. Quote
