... I was reading Evo's description and...

Report for duty, EVO! The evil brains are launching an underwater attack on Makuhero City and it’s your mission to stop them. We’ve equipped you with a white-hot vortex staff, back-mounted sheath, spiked armor, opening underwater breathing mask and hero core locking clamps. There’s no time to lose! Whip up a raging whirlpool with the vortex staff and send those aliens spinning!

Features white-hot vortex staff and back-mounted sheath, spiked armor, opening underwater breathing visor, hero core with locking clamps, poseable joints and translucent element.

Did I read that right? Evo has a scabbard on his back? That's awesome if true.

He could be wielding it in both hands, but I like the way they did it on the bag art; makes him look like he has a fishing spear, which is very appropriate.

Also, scabbard? I can dig it.

Since when do robots breathe?

well, this is fiction works. no need to bother with detail. Evo looked cool with those so called breathing device, so why not?

Fair enough. Evo and Aquagon do look like a great pair. Affordable, with great parts like Aquagon's swords, trans-blue cladding and hopefully heads too.

So Evo, being a smaller sized set is 51 pieces and Aquagon has 41.

Both look awesome, especially Evo. I just love that spear. Also, the blue Brain Slug is awesome looking.

I hope to god that isn't a new hand piece in Jet Rocka.

Also, why aren't any of these Toy Fair pics clear? :I

Why not? if it's the same as the hand we have now but with a pin hole as opposed to an axel hole I could see it being incredibly useful - it has always annoyed me that if you want to make a character weild a two handed staff weapon you have no choice but to make it split in half in order to fit it in the hand but then having to use another piece in place of the hand in order to have the staff appear whole when detached from a characers hands - i.e placed in storage on their back or something. That has annoyed me ever since the Rahkshi. Having a hand with a connection like this would make such weapons far easier to make - not to mention would allow Evo's spear to spin like in the trailer.

I think I know what summer sets I'll be getting when they come out.

If Surge looks good, then it's a straight "YES!" for me. Oh, and list of what I want:

Surge

Jet Rocka

Dragon Bolt

Aquagon

Evo

Those are the sets with the most interesting parts and builds.

Evo and Aquagon both look awesome, especially Evo. Definitely going to get him and possibly Aquagon as well. His blue swords, yellow bones and trans-blue armor alone are already worth it. :)

I love Evo, with trans-blue and general awesomesauce, but Aquagon just looks freaky with that mouth like a bat fused with a dragon. Looks like a great parts pack though; yellow short limbs, 3m shells in trans blue, trans-blue head and trans blue Rocka swords.

Now all we need to see are Surge, Dragon Bolt and Frost Beast.

What would make it look like a new hand piece? It would have to have the same connection points as the old one; otherwise it wouldn't be able to hold the upper part of the handles (this piece).

Aquagon looks neat, if terribly plain. Evo, quite frankly, looks amazing. Interesting to see that unlike with past years, there is no differentiation in the packaging designs between sets for release in the first and second halves of the year. I had wondered whether the brain slug at the top might be changed to blue since that seems to be the typical color among the summer sets, but nope, same green brain slug we're used to. As a smaller villain, I like him a bit more than Scarox, who seemed to cut way too many corners just to work in that function, and as a result felt unfinished. This guy's design, while not very detailed, pretty consistently evokes some sort of spindly amphibian-creature.

Oh yeah, your post reminded me to post that I recently was able to procure Scarox and I was actually impressed. He's not going to win any awards for design, that's for sure, and the function's a bit lacking, but he's got a lot of personality to him. It's only really evident when you see him IRL that you can, in a way, appreciate how they designed him. I actually think adding armor to his limbs or lengthening them would detract from his appearance. It's not one of my favorite Brain Attack sets by ANY stretch of the imagination, but he was kind of a surprise for me; I didn't really expect to like him as much as I do.

Hey guys, I was wondering another thing throughout each wave. Why hasn't anyone made a new Drop Ship? I never had one but I liked how the function worked from the reviews I have seen. Couldn't someone make one to hold one or two heroes on the sides and have them drop down?

Well, my reason is that I'm not very good at Technic building, particularly on LDD (which I'd probably have to use since my Technic collection is not that large and mostly out-of-date). Making something that looks good and still functions would be beyond my level of expertise. I imagine that's probably true of a lot of action figure MOCists.

I did at one point try to design a brick-built Hero Pod on LDD, since the new medium-sized Hero sets don't fit in the old-school canisters and since I thought that would be a nice, simple vehicle design to make. Boy, was I wrong! Trying to make a slab-shaped object with rounded corners both visually interesting and solid-looking was too much an ordeal for me.

The head look huge. It reminds me of 'Hordak' from 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe', if anyone remebers that show.

Very plain, as everybody said. Merely a partspack for me.
