I'm going to order extra 3m blue shells to extend Dragon Bolt's tail. And any other HF sets I'll buy will be cannibalized for blue parts soon after buying.

I'm thinking of replacing Breakout Stringer's blue 3M shells with tr. blue ones, so he's fully tr. blue. Plus I bought another Stringer for parts, so I have plenty of blue shells to extend Dragon Bolt's tail.

Yeah, the Summer combo models are likely going to be sweet. I wasn't hot on the Winter ones, but that's probably because I didn't like the source sets to begin with (except Furno XL+Pyrox, but that was pretty much Furno with some add-ons).. but I like that this year the combiners are buffed up Heroes, rather than some random beasts. Summer sets look better and have more exciting colour schemes, so I think they'll look better.

Evo+Aquagon might look cool, I guess he's going to wield a replica of Laval's sword since all the required pieces are there. Stormer uses a Rocka blade while Frost Beast uses one of the new jagged blades from the Chima sets- Worriz style sword anyone? Surge+Dragon Bolt has quite the potential..at worst we'll get some weird thing like Rocka+Black Phantom..at best, we might see Surge XL given that Bolt uses a large torso bone.

I too am curious about Jet Rocka- an alternate model would be very cool.

And I forgot to write this in earlier posts, but thanks to the BZP pics I can see just how cool Surge's and Stormer's printed visors are. The details on Surge's visor actually mirror some signature elemens of his classic helmet (the ridges at the top and the huge Miru-like eye holes), and Stormer's just looks way cool! Now I'm even more sad Jet Rocka didn't get a printed visor, it would have been very neat.

I too am curious about Jet Rocka- an alternate model would be very cool.

If Jet Rocka has an alternate model that is something similar to the Exo-Raptor that Rocka can ride.

I'll totally buy Jet Rocka if he has an alternate model like this.<<

I definitely agree with the idea of a Surge XL. That would be great. The instructions might even say to add the brain slug on his head. I think the Evo and Aquagon combo will basically be a beefed up Evo, because neither of them have many technic parts to do something super interesting.

After seeing the back of the Jet rocka box, he does'nt have a combiner.

Well, I don't think Hero Factory would introduce a new price point for a final wave of sets-- after all, one reason the BIONICLE Stars were made small sets, besides requiring fewer molds, is that the price point for small sets tended to have more reliable sales than the price point for full-size canister sets. In Hero Factory the current lowest price point is $9.99, so I imagine a final wave of sets (if it were to happen abruptly, say, next year) would be priced according to that rather than designed to meet a lower price point which might have uncertain sales.

Overall, I wouldn't be opposed to TLG creating a smaller price point of sets, though, as long as the parts are still versatile within the Hero Factory building system and not as specialized as the parts of the Agori/Av-Matoran/Stars/1.0 Hero builds. It would be great to have more smaller parts for use within the building system, and it could also be used as an opportunity to create neat creatures or assistants (for instance, a canine companion for a Hero, a robot drone, or a robot assistant like Quadal).

Speaking of Surge XL, I had made a MOC like that a while back, but completely forgot to take pictures. You guys reminded me to do that, so I did - it's literally just a Furno XL design with modified colors, but I thought it ended up looking pretty nice.

I disagree, I like it. Looks useful outside of Aquagon.

I think the Wave 2 sets I'm after are Aquagon and Evo at the moment, but if the oppurtunity arises I may grab Surge and Dragon Bolt too - I need more Blue. I wish you could buy individual Brain Slugs :c

Very neat design. Mostly a recolor, but his color scheme still really suits that build, and the wings and lightning pieces also go well with the model.

I'm sure you made some slight mods to the torso, though- can I see it without armour? Not to copy you of course, I'm happy with my mods to the Furno XL build. Just curious.

And, I know this may sound like a weird request (well, it is): can anyone post a picture of Stormer XL with Scarox's head?

@LewiMOC, the individual brain slugs might be released in a polybag later in the year. It would be AMAZING if they did it like they did with the krata of old, in all different, unique colours.

Shakar, I would try to do that if TLG would not release things so much later here than Europe and the US.

Really? They're large, fairly specialized, and have exactly two intended connection points. Not to mention they already come in at least seven varieties. I have a hard time imagining how adding a couple more equally-specialized varieties would be that much more useful, especially compared to other types of recolors like helmets and more traditional building elements like shells.

Really the comparison to Kraata is very apt, and the Kraata were notably one collectible that did not present a great deal of usefulness to MOCists in the grand scheme of things. Sure, they came in a number of color combinations, but they also came in six different shapes that were more or less identical in terms of functionality, with aesthetic differences too subtle to be seen in most MOCs. And while a number of clever MOCists found uses for them due to their small size and unique shape, I think it goes without saying that the budget for many of those "extra" varieties of Kraata (particularly those with clashing colors, like Lemon Metallic and Bright Red) would probably have been better spent on other, more useful new elements.

I had an idea for using the slugs as tentacles of some kind. Their tails just seem like they'd look cool as such.

No problem; I didn't make a lot of changes, though. Just a few color alterations.
