As title, If i was to sell my 8043 with box, all parts, books and the spare pieces.

How much should i expect?

There are plenty of great resources on the Web to look up such information.

Ebay.com

Bricklink.com

local graigslist.org

Lego.com might still be selling the set

P.S. I will pay 11 euro's for it, just to one up Alasdair

@ dajones: Since the 8043 originally sold for £142.99 / US$199.99 (per this Brickset.com webpage), I would expect it to get close to that amount. The "Out-of-Production" set is in high demand (whether it's new or used), so you could ask for that amount and probably get it.

I give € 20 for it!

If you want to sell it, you must ask the min price what you pay for it, everything what you get more is nice  .

Its used, dont really have the room to have it out so its just taking up room in a cupboard

I think you should save it for a couple of years if you're not in a hurry and wait until it is a rare set and then sell it so you get a ton of money

PS I'l give you 21 euros

i'll give you 22euro for it :sweet:

just to give you an ideal, i just bought a secondhand 8043 last week in the land of oz for AU$199 + shipping with manuals but no box ( i didnt want the box because i have to pay a higher shipping cost).

i think it was a good price locally.

@ dajones: You can look on this Bricklink Price Guide to see what used 8043 Motorized Excavators are being sold for during the last 6 months:

Times Sold: 18 Total Qty: 18 Min Price: US $122.92 Avg Price: US $165.89 Qty Avg Price: US $165.89 Max Price: US $198.02

If you don't really need the money, why sell it?!

Like other said; it's a great set, one of the best. Take it apart and store it somewhere.

I will pay you 25 euros for it

yepp - never a good idea to sell Lego technic icons or potential icons - and the 8043 is definitvely a potential icon... complete and seldom used/played technic set-icons achieve high prizes after some years out of producrtion - at least if they come completely with well preserved box and instructions...

but if you want to sell: one week ago i got a used (one times build) but near mint 8043 (box, instructions and parts look as new) for 95€... IMHO for this now OOP model a really good deal for me... in ebay all 8043 (even used ones without box) cost about 115€ and more... but first quarter in a year is expensive technic time - in november / december all prizes go down... so if you want to sell, then sell it now

ah, btw: my bid is 30€ :classic:

€ 95 is a very nice price! I see used models on Dutch MarketPlace website for around € 120 as well. New ones are already € 180-200.

You can probably still find new ones in some Toys are Us stores etc, although is getting harder by the day.

I will pay you € 35. Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!

Recent Lego models are usually better than earlier ones. If this trend continues, old sets will see drop in price.

So called legendary studded classic models (8868, 8880 etc.) already falling in price.

42009 will make 8421 hoarders quite twitchy.

The excavators' design will stand for a long time I guess, got me out of my dark age two years ago. The design of the 8868 has never been very sophisticated. I think too 8421 will be less worth next years. The new crane is beautiful! Fits perfect with sets like 8043, 8069, 8265.

The design of the 8868 has never been very sophisticated. 8265.

Well, in my opinion it was much better sopisticated than its reincarnation last year (9397).

BTW my bid is 31 EUR

by far - the 8868 has IMHO one of the most sopisticated designs of all technic sets until now - this set is legend and will be remain legend... 9397 is not a bad set but far away from being or becoming a legendary set ever...

anyway: 8043 has good chances to become a legendary set...
