Sandy Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Stacy took the stage. "I'm looking at the schedule of events for future days, and it appears the numbers correspond with sets that the passengers will use for a building contest. Details on that will come later I assume." she said. Sorry I did not say that earlier. ( ) Unfortunately this brings us back to square one. Although something might be deduced from the reactions that these numbers inspired... Some people seemed very eager to justify a lynch based on the number, Michael and Richard for instance. I know we don't have much to go on with, but there's no need to be evil like that. As others has pointed out, a smart scum has lied about their number after viewing this discussion, making their number represent the theme with the most answers (and thus making the odds-one-out stand out even more). So I'm looking at the people who claimed their number was a city-set rather late in the discussion, such as Michael, Jordan and Paul.
TheBoyWonder Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Well, I have to say this would of been better earlier. But it is quite a relief, and it has made several people look quite suspicious indeed.
Peanuts Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 So, if these really are for a building contest, how does that work out with 9696? By the way, it seems I can reveal my number now: It's 3368, Space Centre.
ADHO15 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Unfortunately this brings us back to square one. Although something might be deduced from the reactions that these numbers inspired... Some people seemed very eager to justify a lynch based on the number, Michael and Richard for instance. I know we don't have much to go on with, but there's no need to be evil like that. I would hardly call it evil, Miss, merely trying to make use of an uncommon potential lead so early in this situation. I am glad that the use of the numbers has been explained and we now have good reason not to vote against those with non-Town set IDs. And not meaning to 'defend' myself with an accusation, but you shouldn't ignore those who thought it better to be secretive and hide their information from the group so early on either, such as yourself.
Nightshroud99 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Oh no, not a building contest. I have. like, literally nothing to build with in my current living condition. Not that I'm very good anyway...
Piratedave84 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Building contest ... well that explains a lot and brings other things to light! As others have pointed out, some individuals who were trying to steer away from the discussion should be looked at closely ... perhaps tonight ... Wink Wink! Mr. investigator So, if these really are for a building contest, how does that work out with 9696? By the way, it seems I can reveal my number now: It's 3368, Space Centre. Hum ... interesting point ... How would you participate in a building contest with a set which from what I gather has not parts! Mary, do you care to elaborate as to why you invented a number? Oh no, not a building contest. I have. like, literally nothing to build with in my current living condition. Not that I'm very good anyway... Hopefully you could maybe use LDD or I can "lend" you bricks (build by surrogate if at all possible)
Palathadric Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 "I'm looking at the schedule of events for future days, and it appears the numbers correspond with sets that the passengers will use for a building contest. Details on that will come later I assume." she said. Crap, and I thought I was coming here for vacation. Next we're going to be creating ships for "Bob"! By the way, my number is 7627 which corresponds with a sweet film I saw some time back about a man jumping on whips and the like. If anyone is interested in checking on what fabulous fabuland stuff I've got going on there, one's more than welcome, only know that you have to plan your time right, as I spend most of my time sunbathing in front of the window, since we're not allowed out on deck. Sorry for my absence, you know, I sleep when I'm bored, and being in a room full of stuffy people can tend to be boring. Oops, I meant a stuffy room full of people...you know...slips of the tongue. Oops just slipped out again. Hum ... interesting point ... How would you participate in a building contest with a set which from what I gather has not parts! Ummm...the set Bristol mentions has parts. Or am I speaking too soon, and you were referring to Stacy's set? Remember people! Wait a while after eating before going for a swim, you don't want cramps, I will have to safe you! So, if we drown we get to be saved by you? That's quite an offer.
TheBoyWonder Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 On second views, it appears I misread the number. It is actually 9676. Sorry for the mistake. It is an easy mistake to make.
ADHO15 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 On second views, it appears I misread the number. It is actually 9676. Sorry for the mistake. Oh, how convenient!
Sandy Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 And not meaning to 'defend' myself with an accusation, but you shouldn't ignore those who thought it better to be secretive and hide their information from the group so early on either, such as yourself. You can hardly blame a girl for being cautious in a game like this. It's not like I was being uncooperative, I even told you the theme of the set related to my Crew Number (which is 3648, by the way).
TheBoyWonder Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Your saying you've never made a mistake before?
ADHO15 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 You can hardly blame a girl for being cautious in a game like this. It's not like I was being uncooperative, I even told you the theme of the set related to my Crew Number (which is 3648, by the way). I don't at all. You weren't the only one, and I considered keeping mine to myself, but I know I'm innocent and have nothing to hide, and so I avoided casting suspicion on myself be keeping quiet. And I am not calling you a liar, but once you had seen the pattern forming you could have easily given a fake theme in order to blend into the crowd, so that does not particularly prove your innocence. But you can hardly blame me either for voicing a suspicion, never mind calling me 'evil' for doing so. You have to admit the set themes pushed the boundaries of coincidence. Your saying you've never made a mistake before? Everybody does, but your timing was beautiful, if you do not mind me saying; it does not help your case at all. Your 'mistake' has made you even more suspicious to me now.
Palathadric Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Hmmm...I seemed to have confused two of your names. All of you look so alike. I think if we were to all shave our heads, we would not be able to tell who is who. Anyone want to try and see?
TheBoyWonder Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I understand why you felt my mistake was suspicious. But if I was Scum I would of either gone with the correct number or invented one. As it is, we don't know whether people were lying, or that the ones who witheld information were scum waiting until more information was revealed.
Adam Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Aha! I called it: a building challenge! That said, I'd be interested to see if anyone lied when announcing his or her number. I would be suspicious of Mary's mistake had she given us a City set when she first announced her number, but since her first set wasn't a set at all, but rather an armpiece, I think it's harmless. Come to think of it, I wonder how this challenge will work. I remember one person saying that he or she had a $100 set, and I can hardly imagine our captain would ask us to spend our hard-earned cash. You raise a good point, but how can you be sure that a Thief lied about his or her number? I think it's certainly plausible, but I didn't realize that we had any concrete evidence to prove that somebody lied.
TheBoyWonder Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Its the most logical conclusion someone who claimed a city set late on lied. Most of the sets claimed were City, those that were others I.E skeleton tower raised suspicion. So the Thieves claimed City Set to try and fit in.
Piratedave84 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 SNIP Ummm...the set Bristol mentions has parts. Or am I speaking too soon, and you were referring to Stacy's set? SNIP none of the above, I was referencing Mary's set!
def Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Its the most logical conclusion someone who claimed a city set late on lied. Most of the sets claimed were City, those that were others I.E skeleton tower raised suspicion. So the Thieves claimed City Set to try and fit in. They would need to be careful, because if they claimed something others had, there would be a danger of being called a liar. I find the idea of a building contest pretty baffling. This doesn't clear things up much at all. Only two people have struck me as scummy, and even then, they were mild tells. One of them was Mary, for over-role playing and defensiveness. Since voting should be done earlier rather than later.... Vote: Mary (TheBoyWonder)
Palathadric Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 none of the above, I was referencing Mary's set! Yes, I realized, which is why I added this: Hmmm...I seemed to have confused two of your names. All of you look so alike. I think if we were to all shave our heads, we would not be able to tell who is who. Anyone want to try and see?
Rufus Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I understand why you felt my mistake was suspicious. But if I was Scum I would of either gone with the correct number or invented one. As it is, we don't know whether people were lying, or that the ones who witheld information were scum waiting until more information was revealed. Why, if you were Innocent, would you not have gone with the correct number? If you really made a mistake, this isn't indicative of being either scum or town. Your 'mistake' looks more like an invention that you then had to revise, which you've said yourself is what you'd have done if you were scum. However... Its the most logical conclusion someone who claimed a city set late on lied. Most of the sets claimed were City, those that were others I.E skeleton tower raised suspicion. So the Thieves claimed City Set to try and fit in. We don't yet know if these numbers have any significance whatsoever, let alone if the sets they (may) represent point to anything in particular. As I've pointed out, the only pattern I've noticed is that crew members have lower numbers, which also happen to be CITY sets. I find it highly unlikely that CITY means not scum, or that would mean that all the crew are innocent, which would break a fundamental rule of mafia. If there is a significance to the numbers, it's reasonable to assume the scum will have compared theirs and spotted it. If they then feel there is a need to lie about their numbers, would they pick a number at the centre of the pack, with the risk of accidentally choosing someone else's number? I think it's more likely they'd pick an outlier. So, if there's any mileage in looking at the numbers, we should look for someone who's chosen a number unlikely to be held by anyone else, with a correction if it looks like no-one believed the one they first chose. Ring any bells?? Vote: Mary (TheBoyWonder)
def Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Mary has read the votes for her, and run off. Now, if she were to panic in public, I would consider it scummy, but saying nothing whatsoever seems scummy as well, as if she needed to get a consultation first. Maybe I just see scum everywhere
Capt. Redblade Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Oh dear, a building contest. Have I mentioned that I suck at photography?
ADHO15 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Maybe I just see scum everywhere I think it's hard not to see scum in Mary. As I said earlier, I am really unconvinced that your 'mistake' was indeed down to you misreading your number. I find it highly unlikely that such a mistake could be possible and the timings of giving and amending your passenger ID just add to the suspicion around it. So I too shall... Vote: Mary (TheBoyWonder)
Capt. Redblade Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Maybe I just see scum everywhere It's not paranoia if you're right. Vote: Mary (TheBoyWonder)
