Posted February 11, 201312 yr Another creation in my new 8wide series of locomotives, this time a German shunter DB class V60 (BR 363). It is in 8wide and equipped with large PF-motor, battery box and IR-receiver in rear. Technically it is quite similar to my recently presented Swedish V5 shunters, except this has got BBB medium wheels. Custom connecting rods are on my wish list (Zephyr, send me some samples ) Comments welcome as usual. EDIT: i changed to longer white tiles 1x4 - is it better ? (I hope so...) And the prototype (real locomotive) :
February 11, 201312 yr Another great creation Selander, I like that the locomotive has everything integrated (PF receiver, battery box and motor) and I like the air tank between the wheels! The new rods from Zephyr will be a nice touch! Keep on Selander!
February 11, 201312 yr Wow, I just had a look at actual photos, you captured the esence of aV60. As Lego Train 12 Volts said, with zephyr's rods, it will be just amazing.
February 11, 201312 yr Excellent shunter Selander. This little guy has an interesting and unique look to it. Great job
February 13, 201312 yr Very nice build. And since you only have side rods on this 8 wide engine, you could probably do a nice all lego solution, e.g., my original rods on my 0-6-0. (of course everything looks better with custom rods though, grin)
February 14, 201312 yr Very nice work there Thomas, you have done an excellent job in capturing the look of this iconic class of locomotive, especially when it comes to the bulging of the long hood which is a prominent feature of this class. I also like how you have been able to cram in all the PF components into such a small locomotive, that in itself is a difficult feat. Edited February 14, 201312 yr by Steinkopf
February 17, 201312 yr Author Thanks for all kind comments. I made a small change to longer (1x4) white tiles with headlights - is it better ?

February 17, 201312 yr Saw this on Flickr - a really top quality design. Instantly recognisable from the prototype.
February 17, 201312 yr I had forgotten to ask but are there more pictures of the area the train is in because it looks really good.
February 17, 201312 yr Author I had forgotten to ask but are there more pictures of the area the train is in because it looks really good. No not really - the train shed is a WIP and I just put it there to create a nice background for the photographing. If you browse my Flickr photos you will however find some photos of a train station and platform area which is in the foreground.

February 21, 201312 yr Can you please show a picture of internal mechanism? Especially how the power function motor is driving the wheels?
February 21, 201312 yr Have a look at his Flickr stream. I'm sure the internals of this one very similar to the older version of this engine with the smaller wheels.
February 22, 201312 yr Author Can you please show a picture of internal mechanism? Especially how the power function motor is driving the wheels? As Duq pointed out you can study pictures in my Flickr account. The mechanic parts are more or less identical to my Swedish V5 shunters. Also I have some pictures of motorization concepts for PF L-motor, incl use of BBB medium wheels like in this DB class V60.
