February 12, 201312 yr Author Thanks. Ahead excuse me my bad English. Congratulations dokludi for your work. Can you take a picture from underneath as well? Thanks Pictures: Well done dokludi. Just a quick question. In the video from the Nuremberg Toyfair, you can see that the superstructure is sitting kind of wobbly on the turntable. Did you experience the same with your replica or did you fix that directly when building it? The crane is a more stable. I will do a video then on the week. Very well done!! Now for the most important question; what do you think of it? Do you like it? Model which can be played very well. I will buy it sure with 42008. Well done sir!!! Do you have an estimate as to how many parts you used? It would be a good benchmark to see how close your build technique is when Lego releases an official part count. I am only saying this as you may have been more efficient with your build (same result less parts) with your fantastic skills. Again good job! Thanks. I don't know. I will count it. @ dokludi: It looks nice! By chance, do you have the 8421 Mobile Crane set for a side-by-side comparison with the 42009 replica? February 12, 201312 yr Can we expect a 42008 replica next/ I hope so! Thanks for the comparison pics. This really puts it all together. Edited February 12, 201312 yr by Kronos
February 13, 201312 yr wow! I assume that is the full extension of all three booms? If so, 42009 is actually quite impressive! Also, based on the other photos with all three, I have to say that 42009 is definitely best, and 8053 isn't actually too bad, but still not quite as good as 8421. Thankyou for these comparison photos!
February 13, 201312 yr This is really good work, and looking at them all side by side I will probably take 8421 off my bricklink wanted list and then turn my 8053 into the harbor crane again :)
February 13, 201312 yr One thing these photos make me remember about 8421 is that there are a couple of half pins which limit the three part telescoping boom length to much less than the boom is capable of. You can see that 8053 has almost the same height even though it has only two parts. If you remove the pins, you can get another several cm of extension. It will be interesting to see if 42009 does the same thing. I understand the reason for the stops. If you extend too far, the extension can fall out of its support.
March 3, 201311 yr Nice video! I like how the outtriggers function! What I don't like is that you still have to lower the hook to be able to extend the boom. I wish they (you) had those functions be executed simultaneously so that the hook stays at the same height all the time.
March 3, 201311 yr I can´t see this Video. Musik from SME is in Germany not allowed. :(((( Thank´s to GEMA. By the way, Your Pictures at Brickshelf are great. The outrigges are nice, but to build the Mechnism which turn out the "arms" out is very difficult. I need some help. Jochen
March 3, 201311 yr Fantastic work Dokludi! Awesome reverse engineering talent, and lot of free time. I am just envy, no offense. For the german users, watch the video through: http://www.proxfree.com/

I did so and could see the video then. @dokludi Very well done. Let all the others say what they want, but I think, this is gonna be a fantastic set. Only thing that strikes me a bit after seeing this video is, that it seems that the Mini-LAs in the outriggers seem to bend a little bit when extending/retracting. Can you confirm this?
March 3, 201311 yr Does the boom not seem a bit too fast lifting and dropping,in real life these booms are quiet slow, I wonder how close this is to the real 42009?
May 4, 201311 yr OMG amazing you did that from just photos! Doklud you are a freaking legend. Well done!
