Posted February 14, 201312 yr Here's something you don't see often -- a Lego racecar made with an onboard intelligent brick! Laurens Wuyts posted this YouTube video of his Lego Mindstorms NXT Ferrari 246 model. His Flickr photostream shows many of the details. He credited Sheepo for the suspension design. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWHy3a-aSHU
February 14, 201312 yr Seems like a fantastically complicated way to make an RC vehicle, but I guess if the builder had a NXT set but no PF parts it makes a lot of sense! Not much to look at but it appears to drive great : ) Think the 'V6' needs some work though.
February 15, 201312 yr I have not enough red bricks to make it full red. and my PF IR reciever is broken.
February 15, 201312 yr Welcome to Eurobricks, Laurens-wuyts! Can you upload your video without music, so we people in Germany can watch it as well?! It'd be very appreciated! edit: Just found this video on flickr. Is it the same video as the YT video? Or does the YT video show some real action? Edited February 15, 201312 yr by PsyKater
February 15, 201312 yr Author @ PsyKater: I can view both the YouTube video and the Flickr video here in the USA, and I can tell you that they are identical except that the YouTube video has an additional ~30 seconds of footage, showing the car driving in a parking lot. You're not missing much. Those beautiful curves on the Ferrari 246 are difficult to replicate with Lego Technic right-angle connections. The tapered oval radiator grille is very distinctive, but I don't know how one could improve upon it.
