El Bucanero Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 No, I don't think the stern is too high. It looks very well integrated. It looks good on this ship! Phew, good to hear.. or see in this case. I spent hours to make that stern look decent nd offtake-able, I thought it would look too high... I'll take more pictures tomorrow for the lightning is very bad at the moment here... Mr Tiber Quote

I think you invented a few words in there! no, its not too high! Looks good, though making it a little higher would allow you to continue the stripe all the way through which might look nice. Anyhow, I'll be awaiting the progress pictures!! Quote
El Bucanero Posted August 2, 2007 Author Posted August 2, 2007 Time for another round of pictures, this time: The stern! The stern is finished already, unlike the bow wich is very unfinished.. This is my favorite part of the ship, hence the decorations The stern is remove-able There are cannons in the cabin In every round of pictures, I hide a VIP. Members from EB. Who is it this time? And here's a picture of the side: Mr Tiber Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted August 2, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted August 2, 2007 (edited) Looking very good Mr. Tiber!! I would make the white line go all the way to the back of the ship. Here are some quick previews. I think it looks much better this way! Edited August 2, 2007 by Bonaparte Quote

Found the VIP yet? :-D Mr Tiber Quote

Found the VIP yet? :-D Mr Tiber The white line can go a bit up at the back of the ship. This way you could leave the black plates. But I would keep the same height for the white line everywhere. A VIP? Isn't that Frans Bauer on the quaterdeck? :-P Edited August 2, 2007 by Bonaparte Quote
Errorist Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 (edited) This is a really nice ship. I really like the way your stern came out . The guns give it that extra feel. *sweet* One question though: how many hull pieces did you use for this ship? Edited August 2, 2007 by Errorist Quote
ZCerberus Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 (edited) Nice stern castle Tiber m'man... A VIP did you say... I think I see a handsome bloke dressed in red on the quarter deck there... As I side note, in case any were wondering, if you heard about the Minnesota bridge collapse, I live less than 10 miles from the bridge, but never travel over it really. None of my loved ones were involved in the accident. Anyhow, back to the ship... I might still suggest raising the stern 2 plates so the whole stripe may continue around the back, though I don't know how that would affect its removal. Looking good Mr. Tiber! SirNadroj Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Nice ship, Mister Tiber! I like the classic white stripe along side your ship! Well done! P.S. Instead of posting in the Person above you thread, I took your advice, and I built myself an imperial soldier ship, i'll post pics when it is fully completed. X-D Quote
Lord Beckett Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 (edited) I think it's better like that! But how do you like the ship? Mr Tiber Oh sorry, I thought I already had commented on it but I just realized I hadn't. So the ship is really nice indeed, it is really well balanced and there is a lot of space for the crew. I also like the "double wheel"... very realistic and the two cannons on the back of the vessel (just one thing perhaps, you should maybe have used cannons that you created yourself rather than the standard Lego ones because usually those cannons on the back of ships are of smaller cal. ... but that's a really small detail). The removable cabin is a very good idea and I simply like the global look of the whole ship. Great work. Edited August 4, 2007 by Lord Beckett Quote
Capn Frank Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 That's amazing Mr. Tiber 8-o That looks awesome having your quarter deck and captain's quarters removable. I couldn't even tell that part was removable. Good Job *y* Yes I also like to keep the line the same height everywhere...... I'd also keep the line the same height everywhere (where there is a white line ;-) ) I'd try to have the white line end right before the window in the captain's cabin... Like on the HMS Sophie; here are some pics Just a suggestion X-D Oh and one more thing... ... ... These stern chasers seem a little large being on top of the captain's cabin. I'd try to place a smaller caliber cannon up there to maintain structural integrity of the quarter deck. Just another suggestion ;-) P Quote

Captain Charles F. Harlowe Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Hello Sir. I do not exactly know what Periode Flair you are aiming for, but I would reduce the Number of Yards to three, maybee four per Mast. I am, Sir Your humble Servant, Captain Charles F. Harlowe Quote

Capn Frank Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 (edited) Umpff... A double post!... Firstly, what can I add/do more to make the ship as realistic as possible? ... Mr. Tiber how could you double post? :-P You better hope a moderator doesn't find out ;-) j/k For realism, I'll just comment on the compass cause that comes to mind first X-D I don't know if you can squeeze another stud length into your compass or not |-/ but i suggest having something in front of the compass to designate where the front of the ship is. Here's what i did on the DDW... I've got a with a in front of the compass so the navigator can easily tell which direction the front of the ship is moving. P Edited August 29, 2007 by phred Quote
