Bob Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 The Pearl - Day Two Three Strikes and You're Out Matthew / Adam was out and about with his baseball bat on a mission. He was walking through the Ice Lounge looking for his target. "Oh boy!" he said. "I haven't had a night action in so long!" He was admiring his trusty bat and contemplating his action so hard that he failed to notice the figure creeping up behind him. Until it grabbed Matthew and simply snapped his neck. He fell on top of his favorite bat that got him so many home runs at Yankee Stadium. Matthew / Adam was Innocent In the engine room, Scott / CorneliusMurdock was speaking on his radio to nobody in particular while examining the Excalibur's Pearl's engine room. As he absentmindedly looked at a wall, he didn't seem to be aware of the figure approaching him with a fire ax. He threw the hammer down hard, plunging it deep into Scott's back, sending blood splatter everywhere. Scott / CorneliusMurdock was Innocent Back in the Ice Lounge, Scouty came across a deceased Matthew while continuing an ongoing trope. "I saw everything!" he exclaimed. As Scouty turned away to report, the figure once again appeared and promptly snapped his neck too. "I wasn't even playing..." he said with his dying breath. The next morning, the passengers arrived back into the lounge, clearly noting that some of their fellow passengers were not present. A few were visibly tired. "Bad news everyone." Bill started. "I've just been informed that Matthew, Jordan, and Scott were all Innocent. I have also been informed that Scouty was Not Playing. I've never heard of such a role before, but we must look out for those like him." ~~~ Players: Alice (Passenger) - Played by Rumble Strike Barbara (Passenger) - Played by Def Betty (Passenger) - Played by Waterbrick Down Ferrik Bill (First Officer) - Played by Capt. Each player will be given a character to play. That character will be aligned with either the Innocents or the Thieves. To win the game, the Innocents must vote or kill off all the Thieves, while the Thieves need to outnumber the Innocents. Additionally, keep on the look out for other factions. Each character was given a sort of “bare-bones” description. Expand on your character a bit, give them their own tropes and play with them. 2. Each day will be played out in its own topic. During a day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting must be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player, meaning that over half of the remaining players must vote for the same player to warrant a lynch. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end after those 72 hours. After the day has concluded, a night will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of nighttime. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the day threads. Similarly, do not post out-of-character inside the day threads. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. Don't edit your posts. 9. Post in all of the day threads or else. 10. There are no clues in the pictures. If you feel I inserted a clue in a picture, please tell me privately and don’t make a fit of it in the thread. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5-vote penalty against you on your first offense, and the death of your character on your second offense. Your character will also die in the most gruesome and awful way possible. I also won't cry. 12. Everyday there will be a certain “event” or theme aboard the ship. You will be told what said event is and you may participate or act accordingly to the event. You must post during this time. I won’t tolerate lurking or inactivity in this game. 13. Have fun! This is a cruise ship and a vacation, put all the seriousness aside and post all you want.
Hinckley Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 The worst news of all of this is that the Engine Room looks exactly like the Engine Room in Excalibur. That is certainly a shitty start. Hatchet man is a serial killer, neck snapper is the Scum, Matthew was our vigilante. Was he blocked and killed? I'm disappointed that his action didn't go through, if he is in fact the serial killer. A baseball bat could mean blocker as well. If he was the vigilante, was he blocked and killed? That would have to mean he blabbed to the wrong person on Day One. For reasons I shall keep to myself for now, I've got my eyes on Lauren. Who happens to be the only one in the room with me right now. What's up, Lauren? How you doin'? Scott, sorry to see you go. I guess you're Rick now.
TrumpetKing Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Crap. Looks like we were wrong about Jordan. It's a shame about Matthew and Scott, too. I was talking with someone last night, and he did mention that the way Alice has been acting seems as if she knew whether everybod y was town or not, implynig that she is scum. Do you have anything to say about yesterday, Alice?
Hinckley Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Boy, I typed that too fast. It looks like I'm saying I'm sure of the MOs. I'm not. I said Matthew was the serial killer, but I'm guessing vigilante. I should've read a little more thoroughly before hitting "Post". You can see I referred to him twice as vigilante and once as serial killer. My brain's a little fried lately. Please do forgive. Crap. I would have loved to have seen Alice lynched yesterday. I think she's a super Scum-bum. What else did this person say? In what ways did it sound like she knew who was on what side? Any anonymous quotes you can share?
TrumpetKing Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Don't worry. I read it fine. It's a shame that we lost Scouty, too. What interests me is that there appears to be a "Not Playing" faction. Was that just for jokes? It appears so, because he was mod-killed. But why so? He did welcome the new Betty, who is much more beautiful, and less bitchy. Congratulations, Phil!

Any news on the Alice situation. You know, those questions I asked you.
The Legonater Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 We lost Scouty? Oh, great... The loss of our vig is just as pleasant. I figured Jordon's mistakes were pure blunders. However, there's still Mary to investigate. Also, it is interesting to see Adam targeted. As far as I know, there was no evidence pointing him as the vig, and he wasn't very vocal like Scott. I wonder what the reason for his attack was.
def Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I didn't think Jordan was scum, but it seemed a waste to not have a lynch day one Today, I'm somewhat sure Jonathan is scum. No investigation, just a strong scummy vibe going off there. Does anyone else feel it?

And hey, what's up, I'm good, is that supposed to be a pick-up line? Ugh, men. You saying you have your eye on me is not really going to help, not without reasons anyway.
Hinckley Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I didn't think Jordan was scum, but it seemed a waste to not have a lynch day one Today, I'm somewhat sure Jonathan is scum. No investigation, just a strong scummy vibe going off there. Does anyone else feel it? I'll answer right to it. I don't feel it and I'm not Scum. Why did he tell you that he was our vig? And how can you be so sure what killer is what? And hey, what's up, I'm good, is that supposed to be a pick-up line? Ugh, men. You saying you have your eye on me is not really going to help, not without reasons anyway. He didn't. Where did I say he told me he was the vig? And didn't I clarify that I'm not sure of the MOs? You should be able to guess why I would be suspicious of you.
Bob Posted February 16, 2013 Author Posted February 16, 2013 Stacy took the stage. "Today's theme is Islanders!" she said. "Free tropical drinks all day long and a barbeque on the pool deck later tonight!" A few of the staff looked frankly embarrassed to be in their outfits. Bristol couldn't care less, while Bill looked completely mortified.
Scubacarrot Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 He didn't. Where did I say he told me he was the vig? And didn't I clarify that I'm not sure of the MOs? You should be able to guess why I would be suspicious of you. Oh, I am stupid, I didn't look at the pictures. Okay that makes sense. And no, I really don't know, shoot me a PM, maybe.
def Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I'll answer right to it. I don't feel it and I'm not Scum. No shit? You don't feel you're scum? I didn't see that twist coming. In lieu of a more concrete candidate, you'll be getting my vote today. You have nothing to worry about if you're town and the rest feel the same about you
Scubacarrot Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 If Matthew has been talking to people (and possibly blabbing), I'd hope he has not talked to just one person.
Hinckley Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 No shit? You don't feel you're scum? I didn't see that twist coming. In lieu of a more concrete candidate, you'll be getting my vote today. You have nothing to worry about if you're town and the rest feel the same about you Well, there's the person you started the lynch on yesterday. Why is she not a more concrete candidate today? And what about Alice? Alice was also acting really Scummy yesterday. So, how did I rise to the top of your list? And what exactly have you done to prove to everyone how Townie you are and your word should be followed?
def Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Huh? I'm voicing suspicion, not claiming to speak for the town. Defensive much?
Sandy Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Hakuna Matata and Honolulu and all that shit, everyone! Enjoy the cruise while you can, we'll all be dead soon anyway if this goes on much longer... Who was Scouty? Where did he come from? What's going on around here?! The Furry Night was a success, so let's hope people join up during the Beach Party as well.
Hinckley Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Huh? I'm voicing suspicion, not claiming to speak for the town. Defensive much? You conveniently skipped my questions. What happened to your suspicion of Mary?
Piratedave84 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Well that does suck balls!!! It sure looks like Matthew was either the vig or the blocker; most likely the vig based on the baseball bat and the fact that it qas explicitely said he had a night action. I find it odd that Scott was targeted, I will have to look back on day one as I cannot think atop my head of anyone he could have angered/targeted. A conclusion I can draw is that the scum had an "In" with someone who knew maythew had a nogr action seeing that it would be a very very big councidence that a PR would be targetted on night one. The target selection to me does not appear random and I will therefore go back and review the events of day one; maybe it will help me draw some conclusions!
The Legonater Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I find it odd that Scott was targeted, I will have to look back on day one as I cannot think atop my head of anyone he could have angered/targeted. I feel it was because he was one of the more vocal members, though surely there were more vocal people than him.
Hinckley Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 We missed one of the most important clues. Three dead Townies. What set numbers did they have? From Richard's list from yesterday: Jordan (Passenger) - Played by Tamamono - 4429 Helicopter Rescue Matthew (Passenger) - Played by Adam - 4441 Police Dog Van Scott (Engineer) - Played by CorneliusMurdock - 4201 Loader And Tipper All three Town sets. And no building challenge to speak of yet... Hmmmmmm....
Rufus Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 If the scum did kill Matthew then I agree they must have known he had a night action - I can't imagine why they'd kill him otherwise. On the other hand, Scott is an odd choice for a serial killer kill; he's not the usual 'lurker' type the SK might go for. He might have been a vigilante target, which would imply Matthew wasn't the vig. Of course it's possible that Scott was killed by the scum, and Matthew by an SK or vig; I don't think we should assume anything at this stage. As for Jordan, I'm not desperately surprised he was innocent, but without a Werewolf we were unlikely to catch a scum on a day one lynch.
Capt. Redblade Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Well, that's certainly too bad about the deceased. Mr. Scott may have been insubordinate, but he was a good man. And whether blocker or vigilante, Matthew will be missed. Jordan... I'm not totally surprised about, but someone always has to be first. The Furry Night was a success, so let's hope people join up during the Beach Party as well. Oh, please no. I just want out of this ridiculous costume. We missed one of the most important clues. Three dead Townies. What set numbers did they have? Jordan: 4429 Matthew: 4441 Scott: 4201 I wonder if it's significant that all their numbers start with 4?
Piratedave84 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 SNIP Jordan: 4429 Matthew: 4441 Scott: 4201 I wonder if it's significant that all their numbers start with 4? I dont think 4 had anything to do with it; the fact they were all town sets makes a lot more sense. it can be very plausible that the scum simply picked 2 targets with town sets; as for Jordan, I dont think we can assert that he was picked because of his set number seeing we lynched him mostly based on his odd behaviour. Hence we are talking of 2 targets, not 3; Jordan cannot really be included in any "kill analysis".
