Countdown Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Hi all, for the last 2 years, (yes, that's right TWO years), I've designing, building, testing, dismantling, re-building a full PF Liebherr LB-28 rotary drilling machine. The individual components have passed the proof of concept stage, now it's "just" a matter of assembling them together and aesthetic details. Stay tuned in a month or 2, instructions may be available if the demand is there. Quote
DLuders Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 @ Countdown: Hey, long time no hear from you! It's good that a fellow Civil Engineer is designing complex Lego Technic MOCs like this! Quote
GuiliuG Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 i would love to build that but it has those pneumatic cylinder cases You can connect them with liftarms. By the way, thanks all for your interest. Quote

Johnny P Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 at the moment i am also working on something special. i don't think it has done before in lego. a log yarder. Quote
andythenorth Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) Yarder You probably already found Heavy Equipment Forums if you're building yarders (it's the best heavy equipment forum I know of). Plenty of yarder threads in the forestry sub-forum. http://www.heavyequi...estry-Equipment There are other forums in there for dozers, scrapers etc. Also for forestry, Vannatta Bros has great explanations of how yarder logging works, and how loggers use their equipment http://vannattabros.com Edited March 15, 2013 by andythenorth Quote

Pat-Ard Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Hi folks, I'm sure you pros can help me. I love my collection of Unimogs, but what I really would like, are some scale-fitting machines. Do you know some? Thanks Pat Quote
colinrichardson Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Hi folks, I'm sure you pros can help me. I love my collection of Unimogs, but what I really would like, are some scale-fitting machines. Do you know some? Thanks Pat I'm not one of the pros that you were addressing your question to, but I'm not familiar with "scale-fitting" machines. I wasn't able to find any via google. Could you post a link or picture? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) Wait........I am one of the pros...... Jurgens backhoe should look quite good with it. I was not happy with the roof,so I restyled it. Edited March 16, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote

Bzroom Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I can't keep it a secret anymore. This is my current Technic project. I hoped not to unveil it before it was finished. But, I can't resist! Walking Tree Harvester: I was trying to achieve a unique counter balance system with the arm. There are 3 motors hanging off the back end of the LAs. It contains: 2 XL - Walking 3 M - Arm lifting 1 M - Compressor / Gripper valve 1 M - Turret Rotation 1 M - Gripper feed wheels. It nearly maxes out that little controller :) Improvements I plan to make: * More functional gripper, stronger grip, multiple clamps to gather multiple trees, better feed mechanism. * Better styling on the arm, battery cover * Reinforcements to the LA's gear box * An operator cab on the main chassis * Better color scheme * Bonus, in the front section is supposed to be a winch that will lower down a small forest buggy for the operators to travel to and from the work site Quote
DLuders Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 @ Bzroom: Your Walking Tree Harvester MOC is wonderful! There's a lot of functionality built into that model. Quote
