Heroica RPG - Quest #57: Green and Gone

Leaving the comfort of the hall, the five chosen heroes headed for the Ziegfried Manor in the early morning, for a seemingly simple mission. Those five heroes were:

The five heroes arrive to the Ziegfried Manor. They find that the peculiar butler, Schuester, is waiting for them outside of the front door.

He puts a gloved finger up to his mouth as if he was indicating that they should be quiet.

"Ssshheeroossshhh... ghhhooo quiiiethleeeh thoo nurssheereeehh. Morrrrghannn eeeshh weeethenggh foooorr yoooohhh."

How will the party respond?

After arriving at the gates of the Ziegfried Manor, Thalion looks around and notices an experienced looking group of heroes already gathered there. He approaches them and bows to the three unknown heroes, speaking in a soft voice, " Greetings fellow heroes. My name is Thalion Dwinlas. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

OOC: Thanks for hosting Flare, its nice to be here. Thalion made a last minute purchase at the Marketplace (3 potions; -15 gold), otherwise his stats are fine.

[Costy]

"Names Nagure. Anyone else get what this lizard is saying?"

OOC: All good.

Alexander arrives at Ziegfried Manor and looks at the fellow heroes, he noticed three unknown heroes: "Hi all, I'm Alexander Vandangant and it's a pleasure to make your acquaitance."

"Names Nagure. Anyone else get what this lizard is saying?"

To Nagure: "He says something like his lord is expencting us."

Then Alexander turns to the butler: "Well, if all my fellow heroes agree, you can introduce us to your lord."

"Nuhhh... Nuhhh luhhhddd... Morrrrrrghannn eeeenn nuuurrrsheereehh... "

The butler is obviously trying his best to be comprehensible.

[Endgame]

Stats are good!

I approach the gates of Ziegfried manor, standing next to my puzzled party. They were trying to decipher the butler's words - was it really that difficult. I greet my party with a nod.

"Hello, all. I believe the butler is telling us, "Heroes, go quietly through the nursery. Morgan is waiting for you.""

[Flare]

The butler nods enthusiastically and grins, showing his pointy teeth.

[Zepher]

Boomingham is the last to arrive, but for a change his breath smells clean and his eyes aren't foggy. He blinks a few times at the party and the Butler.

"What do you make of them?" he asks Barty.

"I don't like them. Except maybe the elf."

"Ah, you dislike everyone. I like all of them except maybe the elf. He's got the smell of magic on him." Boomingham sniffs in his direction suspiciously.

"You like everyone, Lawrence."

"Be that as it may-" Boomingham turns to his party. "Hello there, chaps. And it does look like we're all chaps this time around. Anyway, I'm ready and rearing to go whenever you all are. Onwards and upwards."

To Morgan we shall go.

Thalion nods at Nagures statement and follows him.

[Flare]

The butler motions for the heroes to follow him, and quietly he leads them to the nursery on the upper floor. To their surprise, they don't notice anyone else on their way up. The heroes enter the room.

"Well, you must be the heroes I sent for. A yeti, never met one of you before, nice to meet you."

"Sorry for being rude, I didn't introduce myself. I'm Morgan Ziegfried. I'm sure you all have nice names. Anyways I'm the daughter of Altair and Beth Ziegfried, perhaps you met them before. The only reason why you are in here is because they are out - otherwise they would've known that my ridicolous brother has disappeared. Actually - pretty much all my family has been gone for the last couple days on some important meeting of some sort, somewhere outside of the city. There's almost no one here, its most fun this way." She giggles quietly and pets her kitten Fireball.

"But anyways they'll be back soon enough, so that doesn't leave us much time to find my brother Merlyn. The night they left we had an argument about shapeshifting, and after dinner he disappeared. When I was in bed I heard a croak of a frog, but I didn't realize until the next morning that he was gone. Ugh... it'll be awful if he's not back by the time my parents are back." She groans but then she adds with a sneer, "The family has already been traumatized enough with the loss of my bratty cousin Bluto... so yeah my brother really needs to be found quickly..."

"So, any questions, heroes? Or are you ready to go out and find my silly brother?"

"There is the issue of finding which frog your brother is. There is more than one amphibian in Eubric..."

Thalion approached the girl and greeted her with a smile, "Hello Morgan, my name is Thalion and I am a mage too. Tell me something; since you and your brother talked about it, do you or him by any chance know any shapeshifting spells? If you do, did someone teach them to you or have you found out about them on your own?" He listened to Sorrow's comment and turning to Morgan, nodded in approval, "That is true; if your brother did turn into a frog, how would we know which frog to look for?"

"Hello Thalion." The girl smiles a sweet smile. "I have taught myself how to shapeshift into various critters. But I didn't think that Merlyn could until now. As for your second question -" She looks at the five heroes until her eyes rest on Alexander.

"The silent one is a ranger, correct?"

[Zepher]

"I swear, these missions keep getting sillier and sillier," Boomingham grunts, but a small smile plays on his face. "You got any leads? Or should we just walk out into the city and ask the first frog we see for directions? I'm not a huge fan of frogs. Could be a distant cousin of the green skins. And shape shifting doesn't sit right with me either." Boomingham cocks his head at the little girl. "Say, how is it that a wizarding family came into power? Didn't anyone tell Eubric you chaps couldn't be trusted?"

[Flare]

"Well I found what seemed like frog tracks leading from his bed, downstairs and then out the front door. Schuester must have left the door open a crack, otherwise I don't know how he could've gotten out. Anyways, you could look for tracks outside of the front gate."

Morgan snorts at Boomingham rude comments about her family.

"I'd watch it with that big mouth of yours if I were you, fat knight, or else you might end up turned into something worse than a frog by my parents."

She looks at the five heroes until her eyes rest on Alexander. "The silent one is a ranger, correct?"

Thalion looked a bit surprised, "Indeed he is, I guess his bow gave him away. I have nothing more to ask you, and unless someone else has something to ask perhaps we should hurry to catch a frog!?" He smiled at the girl and bowed sightly, "Thank you Morgan."

[Wedge09]

She looks at the five heroes until her eyes rest on Alexander.

"The silent one is a ranger, correct?"

"Ranger Alexander Vandangant at your service. You say you have had an argument about shapeshifting, right?? Your brother tries to became a shapeshifting, I think, bu maybe I'm wrong. We should follow the tracks leading from his bed, maybe we find in the track some clues. Last but not least question, are you sure of the fidelity of Schuester?? Maybe he know more about the disappearance of your brother."

[Endgame]

"Lets not fall apart already. Besides the tracks, is there any other way to identify your brother? I get the feeling the tracks will eventually end..."

[Flare]

"I've already asked Schuester if he saw Merlyn, but he didn't know anything."

"Well, little undead thing, I don't know what he looks like because I never saw him as a frog... If Alexander here (nice to meet you by the way!) talks to any frogs you may find, it might be helpful to find him."

[Zepher]

Boomingham can't help laughing at the little girl's spunk.

"We'll get your brother back, magic user or no. Don't worry, little lady." Boomingham turns to look at his party. "Let's get a move on."

Thalion nods in approval.

"By the way, if you don't mind me asking sir knight, is there something wrong with being a magic user?"

[Endgame]

Hmph. The young ziegfried girl had a knack for irking everyone near her in a one mile radius. "Little Undead Thing"?

"Onward, I suppose."

[Zepher]

"I've met a few magic users I can trust, but most I've met haven't got a bit of honor in them. I don't trust them anymore than I do Orcs or Gods. They can change this world we live on too much, I'm not pleased with it. We must seek our own way, not morph the world to our wants. That being said, Ms. Nyx and Mr. Marvelo have proven their worth, so its clear mages aren't a lost cause."

[Endgame]

"I've met a few magic users I can trust, but most I've met haven't got a bit of honor in them. I don't trust them anymore than I do Orcs or Gods. They can change this world we live on too much, I'm not pleased with it. We must seek our own way, not morph the world to our wants. That being said, Ms. Nyx and Mr. Marvelo have proven their worth, so its clear mages aren't a lost cause."

"That is a double-edged sword, sir Boomingham. I have met people who don't deserve to touch a sword or even weild a weapon - ended quite a few of them. Anyone can be devoid of honor. I see no reason to single mages out of the crowd when there are so many that commit the same wrongs, minus the spellbooks and Ether.
