Posted February 20, 201312 yr Hi guys I'm just wondering what some alternatives for rare pieces are like black 19L soft axles or pneumatic cylinder brackets? Also, what are some other rare parts that have easy alternatives?
February 20, 201312 yr How about these? http://www.bricklink.com//catalogItem.asp?P=57539 http://www.bricklink.com//catalogItem.asp?P=75c19 http://www.bricklink.com//catalogItem.asp?P=75c18 , these are a little short to be used for 18L flex axles, but they work in a pinch.
February 21, 201312 yr How about pneumatic hoses? At least for wheel arches, I think they look better than the 19L flex axles
February 21, 201312 yr You could do as DLuders says, take a 19L red flex, and then use a sharpie on it :P

February 21, 201312 yr An alternative to the pneumatic cylinder brackets is used in the 8460 crane model: (see attachment) Chris
February 21, 201312 yr This part, Hose, Flexible Ribbed with 8mm Ends, 19L can be used instead of the other black flex hose. It's much cheaper, and available from lego direct.

It's also a lot more ugly I don't think the pneumatic bracket is rare, it just seems expensive: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=53178&colorID=3 Edited February 21, 201312 yr by Carsten Svendsen
February 21, 201312 yr Well, it's expensive, 'cause it's rare. And it's rare 'cause the demand is high and it only came in a few sets. Quite simple. If you don't want to pay for that part, you work around it. Either choose another colour, if possible, Or do something completely different (with the same outcome) That's the way it is will all LEGO bricks Other rare parts that are crazy expensive are the rader dish and boat rigging for the UCS MF. That'll set you back a REALLY good diner with your luved one. Of course you could just buy the nonprinted/not grey versions for a song + spray can (for the rigging) AND still take the missus out for a proper diner Demand and supply. Quite basic, really
