It does seem slightly odd though that in all the "investigations" no one has actually turned up scum, but I guess by tomorrow we should have a clearer reading of things. I wonder if Bob really would have made it this easy to catch the scum. Unless Bob just didn't think the MCs would work with town. :sceptic:

Hey, I'm not the only one with bad habits...

Well I feel foolish. My apologies. Your comment just stuck out more to me.

Well, that's good news. If the Master Criminal's results are actually indications of a person's scumminess (and as of yet we have no reason to believe that they aren't) then that could turn out pretty well for us because it's almost like having two investigators.

[claps] Someone's catching up!

I had to say that sarcastically because that has been so obvious for a long time now.

To make it a bit clearer, here is a list of surviving crew and passengers that have apparently not been confirmed Innocent:

Betty (Passenger) - Played by Waterbrick Down/Ferrik

Bill (First Officer) - Played by Capt. Redblade

Bristol (Lounge Singer) - Played by Peanuts

George (Passenger) - Played by The Legonater

Holly (Passenger) - Played by Nightshroud99

Jack (Medical Officer) - Played by Piratedave84

Michael (Passenger) - Played by badboytje88

Phil (Passenger) - Played by Rufus

Richard (Passenger) - Played by ADHO15

Stacy (Cruise Director) - Played by Sandy

Susan (Passenger) - Played by TinyPiesRUs

Thomas (Passenger) - Captain Genaro

Timothy (Passenger) - Played by Palathadric

And those that have:

Alice (Passenger) - Played by Rumble Strike

Barbara (Passenger) - Played by Def

Diane (Passenger) - Played by TrumpetKing67

Lauren (Lifeguard) - Played by Scubacarrot

Mary (Passenger) - Played by TheBoyWonder

Like Barbara said, a few of those will be neutral/Innocent, but, as of yet, unidentified by the majority.

EDIT: Barbara should NOT be on a list of 'confirmed Innocents'. My mistake. More 'confirmed not Scum'.

Oh, that's exactly the fact. Please refer to the case of the Creeper vs. Gotham City, where a neutral chose to use their neutral position to do whatever they felt like, and it was a lesson on the danger of throwing neutrals in a game.

I'm mainly helping town as I am since I'll get lynched when I stop, but I was meant to be a fly in the ointment, not an orchestrator. And really, I'd rather not take charge, but I have no problem being the voice of the tracker and the neutrals for now.

Posted

I agree that Holly's behaviour points to her being scum. Her voting supports it. If nothing better comes up, I'm all for lynching her today.

Just as a reminder, here's the final vote counts of the past two days:

DAY ONE

Mary / TheBoyWonder: 7 (Rufus, ADHO15, Capt.Redblade, The Legonater, Captain Genero, Tamamono, Rumble Strike)

Susan / TinyPiesRUs: 1 (badboytje88)

Jordan / Tamamono: 13 (Hinckley, Waterbrick Down, Scubacarrot, TrumpetKing67, Piratedave84, CorneliusMurdock, Sandy, Peanuts, Dannylonglegs, Palathadric, CallMePie, Nightshroud99, def)

Diane / TrumpetKing67: 1 (TheBoyWonder)

DAY TWO

Mary / TheBoyWonder: 7 (Captain Genaro, ADHO15, Rumble Strike, Hinckley, Ferrik, badboytje88)

Pierre / CallMePie: 12 (Capt. Redblade, Dannylonglegs, Sandy, def, Palathadric, Scubacarrot, Rufus, TrumpetKing67, TinyPiesRUs, Piratedave84, The Legonater, Nightshroud99)

Michael / badboytje88: 1 (Peanuts)

So, it looks like Dianne, Lauren, Mary, and Alice are not scum. They could be the SK, but they are probably not scum. Plus the tracker, and the claimed day investigator and their day two target, and my MC, and me... Looks like half the group is clear.

Except that we do not know who many of those people actually are.

There are three people here that I'm willing to vote for. Holly, Michael, and Betty. They've all just been way too quiet, I think. Holly seems to have the most against her, and she is probably who my vote will be for today.

I think those are fair choices. They are all not on my list of town...

He's dumb and making stuff up, like he did all yesterday. I didn't claim to be a Jewel Thief, I claimed to be a jewel thief. The role name has little meaning, I explained the action.

SNIP

SNIP

-My third-party role is called Master Criminal. Does the town win condition state anything about that? Anything? No? Then you can ignore them.

SNIP

Which is it? Jewel thief or Master Criminal?

SNIP

From here on in, I'm not going to defend myself from paranoid, poorly thought-out accusations. If you want to lynch me, go ahead. Find out for yourself, and also piss off the town tracker by taking away the only person they're confiding in (we're not inviting Mary to the circle, since she's not even here in thread, so neither of us can see the advantage of it). And you won't get any other info from me, or the other Master Criminal. Totally your choice.

SNIP

You saying "kill me and you wont have any information" makes you look as self-centered and narcissistic as Jonathan ... what? are you the neutral town pillar now? Who is to say you are helping us anyways ... I feel you are trying to use your "vast experience" to confuse everybody ... I still don't feel easy about you or your "friends"

I see none today, Jack.

Oh, sorry I had forgotten that the 2 previous days were taken out of the space time continuum and that we should not take them into account today!

My apologies!!! :facepalm::wall:

I see my name mentioned as a lynch candidate. That appears to be it.

SNIP

The most use I'm going to be for everyone here is dead. For the town it's leads. For the scum it's one of them not lynched. I implore you, unless something more concrete comes up, To vote for me. Maybe Dead I can be of use.

SNIP

WTF really?

It seems you are willing to contribute today and have at least posted semi-valid points ... and then this ... what a non-towny thing to say!

maybe after 2 days of near lynch wwe will take you up on that!

EDIT: Barbara should NOT be on a list of 'confirmed Innocents'. My mistake. More 'confirmed not Scum'.

We shoud take this list, and anything Barbara says, with a grain of salt .... a BIG grain of salt. The "results" from them (the 2 MC or thieves) merely means that the person targetted did not have the jewel on them which in turns means that there is a very real possibility that some of the "cleared" list are still scum or neutral.

Now can aynone confirm with certitude that we still have a town investigator? this would enable us to certify that some individuals on the list are in fact clear. Alternatively we could simply lynch one of the "semi-cleared" persons to test the theory!

I am still enclined to lynch Barbara, neutral or scum there is no way keeping her alive will help us in the long run. Alternatively, I am not opposed to lynching Holly as her posting/voting habit have made her stand out from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen without further ado I present to you our lynch subject for today.

bristol.jpg

Bristol, our lounge singer.

I am going out on a limb and I will confess to you that, though my loyalty lies with this town, I am an amateur thief. I went on this cruise together with a buddy of mine, whose identity I shall keep to myself, and it is our goal to be in control of the diamond at least once during our voyage. Last night we succeeded in our task. We managed to steal the diamond from its previous owner. We targeted Bristol and it appeared she had the diamond. Since this happened during night two I find it highly doubtful that the diamond has switched hands before so that would mean that Bristol is a part of the killing team of scummy thieves.

I know that coming forth like this puts a huge target on my head and that it will make me a likely target for team scum. But I am willing to make that sacrifice for you. By the way scum, targetting me won’t get you your diamond back as it is currently in the hands of my partner in crime and it is not possessed by me.

So Bristol you are getting my vote today!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

How interesting!!!!

Should this prove to be true and not a aploy by scum to target an innocent, we must lynch Bristol as it is almost impossible for the jewel to have changed hands!

Your statement however raises eyebrows; you said that you and a buddy came together which means you knew each other from the get-go which in turns makes Barbara's search for other thieves kind of superfluous ... and a lie!

This could also mean that by an INSANE amount of luck, you met up with the other thief by chance which means that there are 3 thieves: Barbara, person X and yourself.

Would you care to address these concerns?

At the start of the game I wasn't made aware of the fact that I am an amateur thief. My partner informed me at the beginning of this cruise that she knew that I was innocent. After night one I was informed that as of that night I was a member of the amateur thieves and that both me and my partner had the opportunity to target one player each per night. Barbera is NOT my partner in crime.

To make this more clear, I started day one as an innocent townie.

Nope, go for it. I am 100% sure eight other people here won't lynch me since I'm not lying. Ten is needed for lynch. Lead a lynch on me. Go for it.

Honestly, they know what they know, and I only don't know the identity of the day investigator. So push it. Try it. Set me up for a lynch. Jonathan is rooting you on from beyond the grave, and when things are over, we'll learn who knew what they were talking about. Jonathan will appreciate your support though! :smug:

Go for it. It's a logical fallacy though. And this is why: scum know that I can't help their ability to win (unless they decide to confess their scumminess to me in order to get me off their back). They need to out number town, not town + neutrals. So, if I organize for town, I am frustrating scum. They want to kill me, but they know it will be a short-term solution, as the other people in my group can talk to each other. But, killing a neutral makes the game longer for them, and they want to kill town every night. Killing a neutral is a waste of a night kill for them. Rather, if a neutral's to be killed, they'd much rather it be a lynch, since it's definitely not a scum being lynched. And Michael's claim means I have no useful night action to harm them. I'm symbolically a threat to scum, but killing me would make no real difference. They need to kill the tracker and the day investigator.

Go for it. Start a lynch on me. It's one of those cases where in the end, everyone will know that I knew what I was talking about, and that the person who went against my perfectly logical reasoning will be shown to not know what they were talking about. I will lost this game, but in the culture of EB games, my reputation will grow all the more, and the one who pushed for my lynch will seem all the more myopic. Go for it! :drunk:

Seriously, go for it! Go against logic, in all its myriad and beautiful forms, and start a lynch on me! I want you to! Please!

Oh my god! An EB host made an over-complicated game! No way!

No worries Dave, no hard feelings when this is done :sweet: I personally think this claim shows my claim was more honest. What are the chances that I predicted there were a pile of third party thieves here? About the same as Dave has of being right in his accusations...

I would strongly advise town not to lynch Barbara today. I am not trying to defend her I am just pointing out that there is a more important matter to discuss.

But why?

Why would you organise for town? What's in it for you?

Listen if the majority of "town" supports you, so be it and I shall abdicate; you seem very confident of ever being lynched, people like to sheep ... I don't ... If people wnat to side with you that's fine by me but in the long run you have your win condition which does not include us and we have our win condition that does not include you; we will need to part ways so let's not get too attached!!!!

Michael tells us you are not part of his faction which seems can do conversions so this tells me you are lying and are not neutral in any way shape or form.

Michael tells us you are not part of his faction for as far as Michael is aware of.

Nice deduction! We'll see when it's over, who was logical, and who was sucking on Jonathan's knee-caps.

To answer the single legitimate point you asked, which I may have covered.... If I am not helping town, I will be lynched. I haven't satisfied my slight win condition. That is fine enough motives for me. After I satisfy my paltry win-condition, I would likely continue as is, since I like being bullet-proof, and quitting is the action of a poor sport. But you'll need to lynch me to test that out. Go for it!

Michael tells us that the faction he is part of can convert; can you?

What is transpiring here is that there are possibly 2 neutral factions (both thieving factions), a scum faction, an SK and a town faction? HIGHLY unlikely!

Michael does not want to tell us who is his accomplice (which has the diamond BTW) but did tell us it was not you and you are not willing to tell us who the other thief is.

We can deduce that there are at least 4 thieves and that it is possible their ranks will grow.

Michael, can you and your friend elaborate on the win condition of your party? Does it corroborate any information provided by Barbara? Actually just tell us if it's similar or not, it should be sufficient for now.

You're a Sherlock, and the facepalming here will go on many games from now. I let you know publicly, so that there is no surprise or confusion when it happens in the future.

Town, feel free to lynch me. I will rest satisfied that I can taunt Jack from here to eternity with his inability to listen to reason in any way whatsoever. If he were remotely polite, I would be more so, but he chooses to be as he is, ignoring the lone PM I have passed along. As such, I am removed from all responsibility, save that of my over-active conscience. Is my conscience stronger than my desire for just deserts? Hard to say, but whether I am lynched or not (and I'd kind of like to see myself lynched), I see a lot of taunting in Pirates's Jack's future.

At the very least, Jack, you can't say I didn't try to reason with you. The rest is on your shoulders

And keep sucking Jonathan's knee-caps! It's a winning strategy to practice necrophilia...

[...]

Wait, what? So, Neutral Mastermind Girl said that she knows of two other thieves, and you are a thief, as well as your partner? Is anyone on this ship NOT a neutral thief? And you started out as town, with a partner, who was a thief, and knew you were town, and the you suddenly were a thief, and what the hell?

Yeah, all I can say about this, is, that it's not true. I never was in possession of the diamond, nor am I currently, and as long as I don't suddenly turn into a neutral thief, I never will be.

There's one thing that makes me wonder: What's your goal? If you two, just like Neutral Mastermind Girl, only have to own the diamond once, why not make your partner's name public? Or is this a deviation on this neutral thief role?

In fact, there's a second thing that makes me wonder: We have...three other neutral thieves, right? Who all are, basically, investigators? Who cleared a decent number of people so far, and were helpful to the town, so that we don't accidentally lynch someone who isn't scum? That's really very nice, and very helpful, but it's a bit hard to believe.

My opinion is, if it tastes too sweet, it will propably give you diabetes.

Why would they sabotage their own efforts by helping us find scum? If they aren't lying, what incentive would they have to help us? With every scum that is lynched/killed, their chances of success decrease.

Michael hasn't told us the name of his partner, which tells me (assuming they are telling the truth) that their objective isn't done yet, otherwise, why be secretive? But if he really has to, say, survive with the diamond, why come forward at all? Why not (again, assuming they told the truth) just steal the dimond from me and leave me in the dark about it, increasing their chances at doing whatever they have to do?

I know I'm not scum, obviously, and that this is a lie. I don't know if I would believe me, though.

BTW, thanks to autosave for saving this post when I accidentally deleted it, phew!

Hey Bristol, better to test the claim of someone putting their neck on the line, than to trust the accused, right?

Can you think of a single reason not to lynch you today, and lynch Michael tomorrow if you turn up town, as opposed to lynching someone else we have no results on? Just one. One is enough. Can you think of one? Just one?

Posted

So now there's a neutral thief who can also convert? Alright, let's fly with that for the moment being... The obvious way to check it out would be to lynch Bristol.

I'm down with that, I never really liked her singing anyway. :hpmf:

Well, I find Michael's claim hard to believe (and I know it's a lie), but apart from that...no. I got no night action.

That said, I wonder what he hopes to benefit from accusing me. He's going to be lynched tomorrow, so what does he gain from getting me lynched? :sceptic:

Exactly. He has nothing to gain by lying to us. It is possible that his "partner" is feeding wrong information to him, though. Some of us are more gullible than others.

Here's a couple questions to Michael:

- Did the host inform you that you were a jewel thief, or did you learn it from your partner-in-crime?

- At what point exactly were you informed you were turned into a thief?

- Did you know about you had a partner at the start of the game?

- What is your exact role title?

- Do you need to gain the diamond from your partner in order to fulfill the win condition, or is it enough that it is in your partner's possession?

- Who did you target last night? You said both you and your partner had the ability to search for diamonds.

Please answer these as specifically as you can, thank you!

I said this to you in private earlier today, but I will repeat it here:

How about saving a towny from death and lynching a scum? Not that this would serve you any good, but in my book if Bristol is town and it can be asserted that Michael is scum ... then lynching the accuser makes more sense ... no?

He won;t answer .... I asked virtually the same questions earlier and no answer as of yet.

Very scummy; drop a bomb and leave!
