Posted February 22, 201312 yr I cannot get this piece to fit into any of the holes no matter how much turning and twisting. Could be just glitched, but I really want to use it as it can actually fit a magnet. ...So can it? Edit: the part is here http://www.brickset.com/parts/?part=4299239. February 22, 201312 yr The answer is that it will fit,but the pin only goes through half the thickness of a technic beam. I have added it to a beam and also added a magnet in the file below. Download link

Download link The download link says file doesn't exist on server :/ May I ask if you are using the mac or pc version of LDD? I'm on a mac and am unable to even use the hinge align tool on this piece. Only the magnet will fit and it never goes green in any holes. Thanks for the help
February 22, 201312 yr Oh oops I used MLcad instead of LDD,I do not know why. I am using windows but that should not matter I don't think. Here is the new file: Download LDD File. Edited February 22, 201312 yr by Alasdair Ryan
February 23, 201312 yr The only piece it seems to connect to in LDD is http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3176 - it probably should fit into half thickness technic beams though, which may well be a bug (haven't got the piece handy to check whether it physically fits those)
February 24, 201312 yr Yeah, you can trick it into place, but it doesn't actually "connect" as such. Additionally, connecting it to full-thickness Technic beams would be an illegal connection, since it would not lock into place and the locking ridges would be in constant compression.

Would that apply to half thickness lift-arms as well? I sadly do not half any of those train coupling in real lift, so I am unable to come up with any legal suggestions on how to attach this piece more ways.

I believe half-thickness liftarms/beams should connect just fine, if I'm remembering correctly (I have used these parts before on certain occasions).
