March 3, 201311 yr I pick up one from TRU today for 20 off the regular price of 139.99, they were having a sale from 2-24-13 to 3-2-13 20 dollars off anything 75.00 or more. There were a couple themes not included. I gotta say I was,nt sure I would like the set, but after building it today I can say I like it a lot. I had bought it more for the parts than anything. the new hubs are nice, I,ve already got some ideas for those. I think for the money spent its a good set, maybe the price per piece is a bit high, but I have,nt worked the numbers on that yet. All in all its a fun build, the suspension is a work of art. Very well done. Dan
March 6, 201311 yr I would've liked to buy this set but it doesnt seem to be worth all that money, so I just bought the new hubs, 5l thin axles, shocks, two 9l links and a differential straight from lego for $40(I got more than two of each hub), should arrive soon
March 7, 201311 yr I would have passed on it if it had,nt been on sale. There is a lot of good parts in it, I think compared to the logging truck its a much better deal if your looking at prices. Dan
March 7, 201311 yr On Lego they sell it for $130, $10 cheaper than on TRU, that is, without promotions. Edited March 7, 201311 yr by Someonenamedjon
March 7, 201311 yr Author We just bought a bunch of these last weekend from Toys R Us online with 20% off.. Got the sets for $118 with Free shipping....

March 7, 201311 yr I,m talking TRU prices, the 42000 is 139.99 and the logging truck is 149.99 I believe. Yes you can order it form LEGO for a little less. But as I said TRU had a sale going 20 dollars of all sets 75 and higher, so the 139.99 set was now 119.99. That's less than LEGO. Comparing the parts between the two sets I think the 42000 is a better buy if your looking at is as a set for parts. That's just my opinion, I,m sure other would disagree. Dan

March 10, 201311 yr Author Now they're running a BOGO 50% off, excluding Technic... LOL.. Yeah, I got the message this morning... You know, a little over a year ago they were running that deal about every week and Technic was always included...

What a bunch of crooks... Agreed there Paul..they have a sale, then they jack the prices at TRU. Under normal circumstances, they are nearly always a good deal above S@H prices, except it seems right around Xmas and then again in the 2nd half release in July-August...BUT they don't seem to get enough stock on the new items and sporadically at that, then they sell out and its a waiting game...funny thing is S@H rarely have new items until well after TRU does...odd, but its been the norm for a long time.
