Balrog Posted August 25, 2013 Posted August 25, 2013 I will finally take my turn on this great model. And I will try and use Therion's instructions for this. I guess it will still be easier than disassembling the whole .lxf file. The parts are already sorted, so I could probably start right away. Quote
jantjeuh Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) I'm also planning to build this model, but according to Rebrickable I'm missing a 4L light bley axle, which is hard to find. Can anyone tell me where it is used in the model, and if it can be replaced with a black one without sacrificing aesthestics? Edited September 16, 2013 by jantjeuh Quote
Blakbird Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I'm also planning to build this model, but I'm missing a 4L light bley axle. Can anyone tell me where it is used in the model, and if it can be replaced with a black one without sacrificing aesthestics? I don't recall needing a 4L light bley axle anywhere. That might have just been a mistake in the CAD file. In this model there aren't really any exposed axles in which the color matters. Quote
jantjeuh Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I have just looked through Therion's instructions (thanks for that by the way, makes it a lot easier!), and I can't find it being used anywhere. Guess Rebrickable is wrong there (not the first time) ;-) Quote
Balrog Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 It is definately not needed. Does it even exist? Quote
Lipko Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 Sorry for the late reply. Yes, there are mistakes in the ldd file. By the way, may I update the Rebrickable project with Blackbird's CAD file or Therion's instructions (or both)? The biggest problem with LDD that there are lots of parts missing. Quote
Blakbird Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 You are welcome to use my file if you like. Quote

piterx Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 i really thought i already posted in this thread to tell you how much this thing rocks :D probably one of my favourite big scaled cars till now! Quote
jg711 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 i think its based on the 8070 but it doesnt matter because this is much b etter build! Quote
Lipko Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 Thanks for the comment! Actually it's not based on 8070, apart from being red and coupé. Different chassis, different functions. Quote
Technyk32231 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 can this be rc'd? I'm sure it can. Almost anything can be made rc. Quote
legomuppet9 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) I'm sure it can. Almost anything can be made rc. Whether or not it can elegantly be made RC is another matter entirely http://legomuppet9.b...2-quadbike.html but of course this is a nice big model, lots of space.... except for the amount of functions. So yeah, it would be interesting to do. You could perhaps take the gearbox out and use the space that gives Edited December 22, 2013 by legomuppet9 Quote
kevman Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I'm sure it can. Almost anything can be made rc. I guess the better question is has anyone has RC'd this... Quote
Nico van Duin Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 A while ago I built this car and I have to say I was so impressed, that I want to nominate it for the hall-of-fame. It's just a realy well-designed creation and it looks and works awesome. I also have to say it's incredibly sturdy for such a big and complex car, because once it accidentaly fell of the table and landed right on its roof, and appart from the front bumper and hood, nothing was realy damaged and it was fixed in no-time. Therion Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 You can also download them from Rebrickable, if I remember correctly... Quote
