The dragon was an impressive sight even lying down, collapsed on the floor it still retained much of its glory.

"What a nonsensical thing to say! How do you know no one is invincible or perfect? Just because you haven't met them yet. Gods who are not invincible and perfect are no gods at all. If a god is not invincible, then he can be defeated. Why worship a being that may be one day and may not be another. Why would a god need to leave His people to study the universe. You think as though a god must be in one place at one time, but again such a god is no god for one needs only worship him whilst he is present. Clearly you have much to learn about the difference between gods and God. God is not comprehensible. I call him 'God' because there is no fitter word that I can think of. Though the God of which I speak is nothing like the gods of Eubric. Eubric's gods, if they can truly be called thus are are but petty in comparison to the God I worship. The fifth Deadly Venom can go to Monk Pretzel for his good tactics during this battle. Everything worked out well in the end it seams."

I accept the fancy shield back from William Harkenshire. "So you accept the gold, minion? I know many poor people who could benefit from it. Helping the poor never is a bad thing. Perhaps salvation may not be lost for you after all. I pocket the three Deadly Venoms. What about these venoms? Will you at least take those? Although, as some may know, poison does have great healing properties to it."

Mizuki leaves 500 gold from her pouch onto the floor for the dragon and the mythril shard that Maurice offered to her. She then goes up to De'kra and trades her bow for De'kra's explosive handcannon before passing him back his normal handcannon.

"I am sorry, but your descriptions do not match up with what you said earlier. How can a god who can change the will of people at a whim not be invincible? Also, what is outside of God? There can be nothing outside of god for God or gods as you would say created everything there is."

IC: De'kra sighed, "Because when you are master of all, you forget to be careful. You make mistakes. You forget to watch your people, instead you build new lands and explore other realms. You let your praises get so high, that your servants feel neglect and jealousy. And over time those feelings drive them to evil, all while master forgets his people, forgets to take care of them. People die, people suffer. Communities die, unity is destroy. And god of nothing is not god."

"Then former servants of master," De'kra continued, "They study. They learn while master forgets. They might even have great power on their own, and should they be as long lived as...they will have eternity to plan. And then one day they strike you down, and take your power for your own. It almost happen to Zoot recently, from what another hero told I.

"As for what could exist outside of gods and goddesses," De'kra concluded in a series of low chirps, "I people had theory. Well not theory, we saw it. We knew it. We god was made by older entities, and he made servant-scientists who made new life. And some of life he made changed on its own, errors and glitches in their bodies and reproduction causing changes and new traits. One of I people had abnormality in his brain that ket him see futures, another could teleport. And that wasn't inherent in our people, and ...we god was too neglectful to give those abilities to them. They developed it on their own. That is what make gods true creators, they can make systems that can grow without them."

QM Note: No problem Etz, you guys are almost done. De'kra, just to get things straight, you're leaving your share of gold (250), correct? Are you taking the two Deadly Venoms or not?

Maurice divides the loot, although some heroes choose to leave it with Retraga. Pretzel starts to dig near where the dragon's horde was. He doesn't have to dig much before finding 50 gold pieces wedged in the dirt and rock crevices. He decides it's best not to take Mizuki's or De'kra's dropped gold while in their sights.

It's not long before Umbra appears at the top of the mountain. She takes no time to admire the view or the heroes, but rushes straight to Retraga to check her vitals.

"Oui... oui. Eet appears zat ze beloved and almighty Retraga is alive and recovering. You 'eroes... you 'ave done well to complete your task and zave ze dragon wizout 'urting 'er. I would normally expect zuch a destructive band tu 'ave no regard fur zuch a magnificent creature, but you 'eroes are different. Oui, I must return to 'ubric tu attend tu important matters. My fasther will kill me if I am late fur ze Ball! Ta fur now, 'eroes of 'eroica, but consitter yourzelves in ze good graces of ze reputable 'ouse ov ze Shadeaux. Au revoir and adieu."

Umbra begins to descend the Khand's Peak just as Flavius and Denerii fly to the top, appearing before the heroes.

"...Wow. They actually did it. And Retraga is alive and recovering, to boot!"

"Are you surprised? Teehee! I always knew the heroes could do it! Well done. Retraga just needs rest, she should be back to her old self within a few weeks. She's a very wise dragon you know, it's a shame you didn't get to speak to her true self."

"Now, to discuss payment, I know this wasn't initially agreed, but we had some left over feathers from our deal with Captain Whales. As our thanks, there is one for each of you. They hold mystical properties and are a rare privilege for any outsider to hold, so use them well."

Denerii leaned towards the heroes and whispered, with a wink: "He's just a little secretive, they fall from our wings all the time and are pretty common among our people. Still, good for trading for shinies with the folk below, teehee!"

"Ahem, yes, and there is also the matter of the opportunity to train with us, the Rito clan, to become a glorious Winged Warrior.
