de Gothia Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) They were so many. We killed one and two more came behind him. They flooded Avalonia and soon they reached the countrysides of Benoic. We had to flee in to the ruins of Gothia Castle. We were safe, at least a while. Soon the forces of the Hand began to attck the villagers. They killed the childrens and kept the adults. Lord Revolword had need of many slaves in his war machine. One of Revolword´s most brutal generals was Murgol. His favourite thing to do was to let the childrens run for their lifes and after a while he followed them on his big black horse. No one of the little childrens had survived his chase and his double axe. Now Murgol and his men had reached the family of Eiriol. The children was playing outside when someone suddenly took them... The soldiers of Morgul was fast and soon the last one in the house was dragged outside. Morgul grinned: - No childrens?!! -No, my Lord. Only these three. -Search the sorroundings! The members of the Eiriol family could only watch when the soldiers began to search for their kids. They had all heard the tales of Murgol and now they prayed for the children. They waited to hear them scream, to hear them cry and to be forced to watch as Murgol chased them. Their lifes were about to end... But there is always hope, even in the darkest hour... The Hand was about to learn a lesson... C&C most welcome! Wanted to build something with my dk red bricks. The combo wasn´t the best... Edited March 7, 2013 by de Gothia Quote
Gideon Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Another great build from you! And another great build showing resistance to Revolword's forces! The houses are really nice, but I agree that the dark red and reddish brown is a little to close in color to really stand out. Quote
Niku Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I love this build from you, the story has drama and totally the red construction is beatiful indeed. Quote
SkaForHire Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I have been lax on comments lately, but I need to say this: Spectacular! Great story, great action and suspense, and a great MOC. I agree with the off coloring. Maybe white instead of brown? Or even tan? Still, great little MOC here. Quote
Kai NRG Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Somehow I think DK red and brown go really well together... better at least than sand green and light grey - but obviously it's just me! Really great job here, posing and all, the larger house is fantastic! The third to last picture is a great scene with some really good expressions, however I would suggest you put the brown dot (1x1 round plate) the lady warrior is kneeling on farther back if possible to make it less noticeable. Just a suggestion, great work, chicken scene especially! Quote
Infernum Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Wow! I love the suspence and drama you can feel just looking at this! Nice work! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Lovely scene! The action is superb and the houses look great Quote
kabel Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I really like those houses and all the minifig action. It's great how mocing in the GoH forum has turned into storytelling through bricks. However, personally I wouldn't stack up the 1*2 bricks like you did with the dark red ones. They are missing a little texture this way. Quote
Brickington Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Great build as usual! I love the story and the build! Great job! Quote
songwm Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Very nice scene. I like the red house and how the resistance force hide behind the house. Great build!! Quote
Captain BeerBeard Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I think the color combo works really well. I love the fig posing here and pretty much everything else. Excellent build, my dude! Quote
MikeyB Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I think the DK Red and brown combo looks good as well and really like how much you've packed into the build. Your story is excellent as well. I'm also glad your using the LotR Orcs as they are, as that is my plan too. Quote
de Gothia Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Thanks guys! I´m happy youl all liked it! I will think about the 1x1 round brick for sure! Little things that you misses when you have built it! Kabel: Not really sure what you mean with the 1x2 dk red bricks? Is it a problem just with this colour? Quote
Kai NRG Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 ...Kabel: Not really sure what you mean with the 1x2 dk red bricks? Is it a problem just with this colour? Probably the fact that you (seem) to have used mostly 1x2 DK red bricks for the second story of the larger house, but one right on top of the other (not off-set at all), which does in general give less texture/stability, but actually in that color it's hardly noticeable IMHO. Still, it would be nice to have a few 1x1s... Quote
Kayne Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Great build dG, but the real stunner is the minifig choice, posing and expressions. They really add a lot of drama to the scene Quote
kabel Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Kabel: Not really sure what you mean with the 1x2 dk red bricks? Is it a problem just with this colour? no, I meant simply stacking them on top of each other instead of overlapping them, just a minor detail though Quote
de Gothia Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 (edited) Thanks again! Kabel: Aha! Thanks for the input, I really appriciate it! Will think of it next time! Edited March 11, 2013 by de Gothia Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Wonderfull work again! The dark red combo is really wonderfull and also are the details like the tile on top of the chimney. Also the fig posing is great. Only thing I don't like is the way the figs are sitting on their knees. I know it's just taste, but it always looks a bit weird to me. Quote
de Gothia Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 Thanks Ecc. I can agree with you on the kneeling part. That do look weird if you see it from the side. The body looks twisted and broken like the woman with the kids. Looking at the minifig from the front makes it quite natural I think. You don´t see their foots on the wrong side. Quote
Legonardo Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 nice one dG! most of this is spot on, the ground I think isn't that great in my opinion, its too blocky, like that 1x6 brown plate really stands out to me, so for next tim etry out smoothing out the layers, keep the colours by all means but yeah. keep it up! Quote
de Gothia Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 Thanks LD! You´re right about the ground. I have ordered many 1x2 dk tan and dk green in the LUGBULK so I hope to make the ground a little more scattered. Quote
Mike S Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Great work! I really like the pic with the hand soldier coming out of the shed munching on the rib! Quote
