Just where are the proprietors of the Grocery Store, Pet Shop, Cinema and Café supposed to put their monies? Shouldn’t that little truant boy roaming our street with that dog be in school or a library? After the local Firemen rescued that window cleaner from the Emporium where or where does he get medical treatment? Why was the local Police not on hand to secure a perimeter for the fore mentioned rescue? My hair is getting so long from lack of a skilled barber that I’m seriously considering building a modular Hippie commune! Suppose our Limo and Fire Truck break down, just who is going to fix them?

Point is we have many years left in this Modular series. So many possibilities and I will continue to buy each one for as long as I can!

According to this logic, which by the way is an astute observation, the Parisian Restaurant fits in with the Retail/Residential category. This means the 2015 will be a government building. Maybe a post office or bank? Or as someone else suggested a court house? Knowing TLG it will be a pleasant surprise.

2007 - corner, business - Cafe Corner

2008 - retail, residential - Green Grocer

2009 - government building - Fire Brigade

2010 - corner, business - Grand Emporium

2011 - retail, residential - Pet Shop

2012 - government building - Town Hall

2013 - corner, business - Palace Cinema

2014 - retail, residential - Parisian Restaurant

2015 - government building ???

2016 - corner, business ???

2017 - retail, residential ???

2018 - government building ???

I'd love a post office. Seems they haven't had a proper post office for some time, and with all the mail boxes around town, someone needs to deliver it.

A Post Office would be cool, and I can imagine a very effective ground floor, but I'm struggling to think of what would be on the second story. A Postmasters apartment (been there/done that with the Pet Shop)? A sorting area? (seems like a wasted opportunity). Maybe an Office or some description? (a Dentists could be a lot of fun!)

The more I think about it the more I would like a Dentists office. Bright white equipment, dangly surgical lights, gowns, a waiting room, nervous minifigs, and instead of a light brick how about we get a sound brick. One that plays both drill sounds and screams...

Is it Safe?"

Yep, how about Post Office/Dentist combo for 2015?

I'd like more retail/residential combo's. Plenty of options:

Flowerstore with a greenhouse out back

Butchershop

Woodworker/furniture store

Store for musical instruments

My question is how about Market Street in this scheme?

My question is how about Market Street in this scheme?

Its generally ignored as if it never happened - I was surprised that it turned up in the Mini Modulars. Was branded differently (Factory) to the others and designed externally.

I noticed the trend of corner-corner-straight, and private-private-public, a while ago. I pretty darned sure that there's going to be a post office and a police station in those. As for what the police station will look like, I'm probably going to be disappointed, because I already have a strong feeling of what it should look like.

About fire station height, or maybe closer to pet shop height, in light gray with dark gray accents, 3 floors, perhaps a little grim looking, depending on your taste. Columns out front, likely against the front wall, going up two or more floors, heavy cornice, with "POLICE" in a brick-built sign centered at the top, light gray with dark gray lettering. Grooves or dark gray accents for a facade of large stone blocks.

Basically, design wise like this, in light gray, with dark gray accents, and a third floor:

As for the post office, I hope they break their trend, since it would make a great corner building. Late 19th century ornate style, a little gothic. Likely in white.

Basically this (although it would somehow have to be shortened):

Boy am I going to be disappointed when they don't look just like that.

BraselC:

This is a lovely modular! I definitely would buy it!

One thing we have to remember is the shelf height limit most of us face with our modular collections. 22 to 24 inches should be the max height so they fit on a shelf up high out if the hands of kids. We just installed IKEA Lack shelves with the hidden inside brackets 23 inches or so below the nine foot ceiling in our renovated LEGO room...for the modulars. DO NOT store heavy containers or books on these shelves because they cannot hold the weight. But they are perfect for modulars. Will post photos once the construction mess is cleaned up. IKEA shipped two 74 or so inch Lack shelves for just $31. from nearby Virginia and they arrived the next day...what a deal!

A small doctor or dentist office upstairs would be nice, there's a post office a few towns over that is on the first floor with businesses being on the 2nd floor. So they do exist. Maybe 2 apartments for both floors also.

They can easily do an entire hospital with Ambulance. It's a distinct design - modern or classical.

I'm all for a Post Office in 2015. Looking forward to the Parisian Restaurant next year! I know early in this thread that people were discussing releasing more than one modular per year - I would love this my wallet would not!! Why not one modular "Lite" each year as well? In the real world we have a lot of small one story buildings, playgrounds, parks, small plazas, etc. Just an idea.

Not within the restriction of 32x32 studs. The examples you give would require 100+ studs.

I don't think those particular hospitals would work for the Modular; however, that classical Glenside hospital is gorgeous. I wish all buildings looked like they used to. I'm not too keen on the modern architecture, but I know it has its place in the world.

But I'd love to see a hospital modular. You'd think it would be a good fit considering CITY doesn't get a ton of hospital related stuff. It's an area that isn't as well distributed as I'd like to see. I loved my old hospital as a kid and I was a fan of the ambulance that came out last year even though I don't buy CITY sets.

I don't think the 32x32 is a problem for the hospital, but more the layout of Modulars being only ~16 bricks deep. If it was the full depth of the plate from the start of the normal sidewalk it could work, but being that narrow it might be tough to pull off. Granted all Modulars are too small in comparison, so it isn't really relevant.

If you want medical stuff there could be a doctor's office and a dentist (like what was suggested previously), it is probably easier to fit on a 32x32 baseplate while keeping it realistic than having a real hospital.

I have been hoping for a Modular Bank or Hospital for a while now. I also don't understand why Lego made a Fire Station Modular but so far no Police Station to complement it. But who knows what they will make in the future. I

just hate waiting an entire year for a new Modular Building and having it be something I don't want. I have recently purchased my first Modular sets, 2 Grand Emporiums and 1 Town Hall. The Town Hall set is incredible.

I wish that they would introduce 1/2 modular sets twice a year. What I mean by that is to do two 16 stud wide buildings and release them individually (6 months apart). For example, you could have a 16 stud wide flower shop with apartment on top in Jan-Feb and a small 16 stud wide coffee shop with apartment on top released in say Jul-Aug. Then, you could buy one small building for around $75 USD and pick and choose which ones you may want. I would propose these be in addition to the annual large modular buildings like a courthouse, police station, hospital, museum, etc. More modulars and options = More Fun!!!
