Karie flipped away from the dastardly duo, releasing a lightning bomb as she did. The orb rolled beneath the partners and exploded, blasting them backwards in a wave of brilliant blue electricity. Amorith, in turn, pulled an opal from his sack: not what he had hoped for, but something he could work with nonetheless. He called out a few choice arcane words and released a powerful burst of frigid magic energy that froze the feathers of the fumbling friends. Nessa, unaccustomed to her new crossbow, took the turn to aim, dealing only the damage that the weapon would deal in the hands of a less experienced ranger, but hoping to utilize her new-found ability to its full-effect in later rounds. The cursed bolts stung Al sharply. "I know that sting!" He screeched. "You're using the cursed bolts! Did you kill Don and wrest it from his cold dead talons, or is he just thirsty for our blood?" Drake, attempting to dramatize his assault, failed to successfully land a blow on Ed, who wrapped his cloak around Drake's sword and pushed it aside. He used the opening to bash Drake across the head with his glowing scepter, the pain hurting twice as much as it would had Drake sensibly switched to the back row as Nessa suggested. "That felt good! I love it when bigots suffer." Stated the Cloak with sadistic glee. He then swung about, in a swift motion whacking Dreyrugr before he could fling his shuriken. As the combat progressed, Al made several attempts to grab his Dagger from Karie's pocket, each time, the agile rogue managed to dodge and evade the were-raven's maneuvers. "Cah ha ha ha." huffed the were-raven, grinning. "You're gooood!" Within the Church, the party could hear a sudden shriek. A woman cried out, grief-stricken: “Dear Ennoc! The donations! Father Caine! The donations and the market funds! They’re all gone!” A venerable voice responded, the Party assumed it belonged to Father Caine, the man to whom the woman had cried. He said in a shocked voice,“What do you mean they’re all gone? This is preposterous! When did you see them last, Sister Lucile?!” Sister Lucile, audibly on the verge of tears, replied, “Just last night when I added the new donations.” Father Cane furiously, then frantically responded, “Dear Ennoc! This is a crisis. There was more than 5000 gold in there! I must inform the High-Priest, or the Lord, or someone. You inform the Guard!” Round 2 of Cloak and Dagger Ed Po (The Cloak) "And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor..." Vash the Stampede Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Sorry I couldn't reply about the dagger. And for the bonus 1 WP and only a 50% chance to stun it's probably not worth the switch considering he has a 50% chance to recover it. By all rights it's likely enough that we swap and then he takes it back accomplishing nothing in the round. Dreyrugr finding he was too slow to hit his opponents takes a smelling salt. Feeling faster he also throws his shuriken at "the cloak" from the back row. If the party says otherwise Dreyrugr will not take smelling salts. If chain lightning is rolled Dreyrugr takes a potion on his second turn or first if party decides against smelling salts. If no one has anything against my ideas for Dreyrugr could you chuck me at the end of the battle order. Quote

The aged mage quickly tore his ruby from his sack of gems and focused on the spell. He closed his eyes and shouted the incantation, releasing, yet again, an immensely powerful burst of fire magic. The wave of heat scorched the Po brothers, who tried all they could to avoid the burning flames... with little luck. "You like magic, huh? Next time you target me, we'll see who's magic hurts the most!" dared Ed. Nessa, now more accustomed to her crossbow, released another bolt into Al's torso. "Ooooh! The sting!" cried Al as he removed the bolt from his abdomen. "I feel like cutting you open!" He snarled viciously, attempting, but failing, to snatch his dagger back from the agile Karie. "Just you wait till I get my dagger back, elf!" Finally, Dreyrugr, now hastened from the smelling salts he sniffed, launched a shuriken at the Cloak. The blade hit the cloak in one of his few unprotected areas, slicing also into a hidden pouch of gold, which the vampire rogue snatched in a swift and fluid motion. "There goes my lunch money." grumbled Ed. "We'll get it back." Grinned Al. He stepped back, away from Karie, who had expected him to move forward. Too late to change the direction of her tumble, Karie found herself rolling right into the sadistic Al. She swerved and stood back up, only to find her pocket relieved of its duty of carrying the Crow-claw dagger. And my shuriken should be thrown from that battle. Dreyrugr while staying in the safety of the back row attacks the dagger twice with his scythe. If chain lightning is rolled at any time or Dreyrugr rolls damage he will take a potion instead of attacking. Quote

Just food for thought. They both amount to rather close the same damage on a good hit or two, but with your strategy you attack twice. Also: The dice were not in your favor this round. >Drake v. "Let's have some fun!" suggested Al playfully. "Don't mind if I do." commented his partner. Drake first took a swing at the cloak from the back row this time. His defensive strategy payed off, and when Ed caught Drake's blade in his cloak, whipped it aside, and jabbed at the hero with his nasty scepter, Drake only took half the damage he would otherwise have taken, had he still been in the front row. Karie, wary of Al's re-acquired power, attempted to poison him with her thin fencing blade, but Al parried with his long, cruel dagger. Dreyrugr, noticing Al's distraction with Karie, swooped in with his scythe and sliced the were-raven's side... but Al caught the farming tool with his blade before it could give him more than a scratch. "Ha." he grunted. Amorith, having essentially nuked the couple twice in a row, was slow remembering his incantation this round. Ed took advantage of the mage's slowness though, and coughed his own spell. The were-raven extracted a dark purple rope of evil power from his scepter, and released it on the poor mage, the magic hitting him square in the for-head and rattling his brain. "There!" barked the were-raven victoriously, "A sorcerer always keeps his promises!" He paused to reconsider, "When he wants to." he quickly corrected. Nessa, strong and in control of her actions, fired another blighted bolt into the chest of her were-raven quarry. The Dagger growled. "Ooooh! That stings! Why is everyone targeting me?!" he whined mockingly, as he scoped out his prospects. Dreyrugr watched the were-raven as he carefully lashed out at his opponents like a vicious, cornered lion. Dreyrugr stepped into the ring, swinging again at the dagger-wielding rogue. "Got you!" Al called out, surprising Dreyrugr, and pushing the scythe harmlessly aside. He stepped forward, gripping the rod of the scythe in his left hand, and bringing his dagger right under Dreyrugr's chest-cavity. He twisted. "Oh! Oooh!" the sadistic scoundrel crooned at the sight of Dreyrugr's red blood dripping down his Crow-claw dagger. "Fun! Fun! Fun!" He exclaimed ecstatically. "Fun!" "Easy, love," calmed the chillier cloaked-magician. "Take it easy." he grinned, clearly not-at-all upset by his partner's sadistic streak. Inside the Church, noise could be heard, drawers shut rapidly, doors slammed. Karie, fed-up by the antics of the cooky crow-brained couple, whipped her blade at the Dagger, slicing in between his protective belts and armour. She hit, but due to the distance from which she attacked, the damage dealt was halved. as she leaned it to cut as deaply as possible, the expert pickpocket noticed a hidden pocket of gold, which she snatched and placed in her own. "Hey! First my dagger, now my change?!" Cried the were-raven. "Oh, and poison?" He added. He was used to the feeling it seemed. "I've drunk worse." Nessa went to reload her crossbow, but still somewhat unaccustomed with the silver crossbow, Nessa dropped the bolt she was trying to load, the first mistake she'd made all battle. Cackling with sadistic glee, Al focused on his topaz. jolts of electricity raced across his form as the static energy built up. The air around him darkened with power. "Let's engage in a little SHOCK-therapy!" The mad mage cackled. Dreyrugr, healed and ready-to-go, sliced into the distracted Cloak, snatching up more gold. She's only stunned this round, but it means that she loses her turn, meaning she can't remedy herself or take a potion. Ooh! Bad mistake! She targeted the Cloak!
