I wouldn't object if you each took a handful (no more than 10ish), but if Sister Lucile doesn't recognize it as the amount that was stolen... Also, consider your character's morals if applicable.

A 1000 year old vampire. Definitely not lawful good. I'd say chaotic neutral or just neutral at best. The perks of not being an elf. Not that I'm saying its beyond elfs to steal.

If characters choose not to take gold can the characters that take gold still divvy up what they could have taken? If she thinks gold is missing the worst that happens is play dumb and donate some gold.

"I can't remember. But what did yiu say? You stole my gem? Why? How? I mean... you?" Nessa was completely confused. She could not believe what Karie just said. Anything of it. In Nessa's opinion Karie wasn't able to steal her gem from her.

'It was her! It was her! It was her!'

"No, that can't be true."

'It is true. She did it... KILL HER!'

Nessa's eyes filled with tears as she thought of her mother and the gift she gave her. She turned to Karie: "Is it true? Are you the thiev I am hunting for so long? Speak up!"

Karie could tell this gem meant something to Nessa.

"No Nessa, I'm not. I don't even know what you're talking about. When was your gem stolen? Just to prove my innocence, I'm twenty two now. How many years ago was the gem stolen?"

Karie didn't know how to feel towards Nessa. There was pity and genuine remorse, but after all the stuff she put her through...

Karie waited patiently for an answer.

Dreyrugr stuck his hand into the bag and pulled out a handful of coins, slipping them into his own pocket.

OoC: You can do whatever you like, as long as Sister Lucile doesn't notice anything missing. Also, this isn't your last chance to get money in the quest.

From within the Church, the party could hear a door open, and footsteps.

"Father Caine! The Guards found the Alterboy! They're taking him to the Court District for questioning. Father Caine?! Where are you Father Caine?"

Karie pilfers through the large sack of coins and takes five for herself discretely.

"Waste not, want not."

Upon hearing the young woman's voice Karie began to feel nervous.

"Best I not be here. It'll look awkward, what with the smeared makeup and all. Any volunteers to return the coins? You simply need to tell her that Father Caine gave you the coins, and that he said he would be taking a leave of absence."

Drake looked into the bag. He wanted the gold- No, he needed the gold. He didn't know if it was the gold hypnotising him, but he stuck his hand into the bag and pulled out 10 gold for himself.

Drake blinked. Was he falling under some spell? He didn't know. He couldn't tell. His mind was just a bunch of the thickest fog. Not even his most precious memories were coming to him.

"Dude, something is up in your head."

"Huh? Who are you and why do you look freaky?"

"Gah, amnesia. Must have hit his head on a rock while he was too busy offline we were interrogating the fools."

Then, Dak started to say some mysterious stuff and then he started waving his hands about like he was having a seizure.

And then Dak slapped Drake.

Karie's question opened Nessa's eyes. "It was... ", she stuttered. "It was 23 years ago... I guess" , she paused. "I guess you haven't stolen my gem, have you?" She looked down to her feet kicking some mud around.

"You know what? Forget about it. I'll handle this with the money." She grabbed the bag of gold and walked to the front of the church to enter the hall.

"You are the traitor. You are the one not to believe in. You have lied to me! I won't listen to you!"

She stomped her foot on the ground energeticly heading towards the entrance.

'You are doing the right thing. Don't let anger take over control of your mind.'

"Oh won't you shut up, too? I don't want to here a beep of any of you."

The insane knight reached into the bag Karie was holding and snatched 10 gold pieces, a total of 25 gold (plus whatever fell out in the fight) having been removed from the near 5,000 gold the pouch possessed.

Karie's question opened Nessa's eyes. "It was... ", she stuttered. "It was 23 years ago... I guess" , she paused. "I guess you haven't stolen my gem, have you?" She looked down to her feet kicking some mud around.

"You know what? Forget about it. I'll handle this with the money." She grabbed the bag of gold and walked to the front of the church to enter the hall.

As soon as Drake made his withdraw, the Elf ranger grabbed the sack and left the party in the alley, walked to the front of the church, and entered....

Karie was more than surprised at Drake's swift withdrawal from the bag.

"Oi! No need to be greedy!" She smacked his hand away after he pilfered his coins. She was than shocked again when she realized she no longer had the bag, as she watched Nessa walk to the front of the church with it. Something about that girl made her feel uneasy. She knew she wasn't involved with the theft of that gem, but if Nessa saw her as a threat, would she intend to kill her? Karie clenched her waist. The scar was still there. Stupid Apprentice. She sat down on a crate and began to touch up her face, knowing she'd have to wait to do every other part of her body.

Dreyrugr lay down in his bedroll in the shade hoping for some time to regenerate his limbs after the previous battle had him stabbed cruelly with large amounts of blood loss. He looked at the annoyed party leader as she started 'touching up her face'. In his long life Dreyrugr found himself still unable to comprehend why so many felt more beautiful as they started to hide themselves. They would start to feel unable to go out in public without painting their faces as they would think they weren't beautiful without it yet they would feel so confident about their beauty after applying their paint. Dreyrugr soon turned his face to where Nessa went straining his ears to hear what he was doing.

OOC: Feel free to slap a failed attempt at hearing for Dreyrugr. It's just the type of thing he would attempt to do while he is just lying down doing nothing.

I'm afraid that you won't be here long enough to regenerate at all. 5-10 minutes is hardly enough time to gain benefits from rest. Sorry. You will be allowed to get more potions from the Market though.

Dreyrugr (and everyone else) could hear from within the church, the opening of a door and Nessa's voice, followed by a loud exclamation.

"Oh Ennoc! Father Caine found the donations! Oh, bless you child!"

Then the voice was quieter.

A few minutes had passed and the party still heard Nessa and the young woman inside talking.

The party heard the conversation die down, and the front door swing open (the hinges needed some fixing and a little lubrication). Nessa stepped back into the Alley and returned to the party.

Karie waited for silence before she closed her mirror dramatically, the lock's click resonating through the alley. Her face looked fine, but the rest of her body was splotched with white, as her paint was coming off in the rain.

"Well, I suggest we head to Che Qi's place ASAP. We don't have much time left.

Karie leaped off of the crate she was sitting on and began to walk out of the alley when she remembered something.

"Um, if I give someone the map, while they lead us there?" She waved the map in her hand.

OOC: That's a cue to move us along, by the way.

"Well, I suggest we head to Che Qi's place ASAP. We don't have much time left.

On the heels of a betrayal at the hands of Marty the Face, the rumour spreader, and having acquired a side-task of bringing the Mob Boss two were-raven heads, the Party, heeding the helpful hints of the Po Brothers, returned to the Cloth Market. They rushed to find Abe, the seeming common denominator in the day's madness and deceit, who the Po Brothers stated would meet them and Father Caine at 4:30.

The party speed-walked back to where they started today, the rain drizzling on their heads, the wind kicking up. In the street people rushed by. The street was busy with people moving around, speaking with each-other in hushed tones. With Nessa following her compass, the party made their way to Honourable Che Qi's stall, passing a nearby potions merchant. When the party got to the stall, they found it empty. The cloth that decorated his stall in the morning was gone, replaced by a sign etched in wood that said "Gone Fishing." It was 4:05.

OoC: If you'd like to buy potions, or other objects, just say the word, and I'll get the stall up. You don't have to though.

Karie returned to the potion stand she saw. It was called Paul's Potion Place.

"Hey! I don't know what everyone's out in the rain for, but if you lot want some quality potions or products, please peruse my powerful possessions."

Potion – Restores 10 health to the target. Costs 6 gold.

Tonic – Restores 5 ether to the target. Costs 18 gold.

Grand Potion – Restores 25 health to the target. Costs 13 gold.

Remedy – Removes all negative effects from the target. Costs 12 gold.

Phoenix Essence – Revives a fallen ally with full health during a battle. Costs 57 gold.

Mead - Causes the encouraged-effect, doubling the target's attack power for the duration of one battle. Costs 18 gold.

Nostrum - Causes the lucky-effect, allowing the target to roll the battle die twice and get the better result of the two for the duration of one battle. Costs 38 gold.

Lightning Bomb – Causes 5 points of lightning-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to lightning. Costs 12 gold. (1 in stock)

Fire Bomb – Causes 5 points of fire-elemental damage to all enemies, doubled if the target is weak to fire. Costs 12 gold. (3 in stock)

Nessa looked at the merchants table. There was definetly something she could use. "Dear Mr. Paul, I'd like to buy one mead and three potions for a total of 36 gold."
