Karie couldn't help but check the man's pulse. She wasn't worried, but determined to save the man from death's grasp.

"Look Yoro, we'll help Dice out on one condition, you cooperate with us. He has information we want, and we need it now. If you promise to cooperate, we'll try to heal your husband."

She swiveled to the party, still knelling by the dying Dice. She addressed the party with an air of authority and force.

"Will one of you pass me a potion? I'm a little low."

epm2hv.jpg "That is fine." she stated aristocratically, but with concern in her voice.

Karie, getting impatient, decides, to heal Dice herself. She than starts lightly patting him on the cheek.

"Come on, wake up you old fool! I don't have all day! I have a riot to disperse!"

Amorith passes Karie a potion to replace the one she used on Dice.

OOC: Thanks for telling me Dannylonglegs, can I still decide to not take it or is it too late?

He rubbed the dagger hilt shaped bump on his head.

ycnrc.jpg "Where'd...? What are you murderers doing here?"

"Us 'murderers' just saved your life. What were you doing in this alley and did you see who attacked you?"

His face turned grim, expressing regret and sadness. He glanced down at his injured chest.

ycnrc.jpg "Fleur." he spoke softly, as if blowing out a candle. "It was Fleur."

Drake looked down at the man. Drake looked scared. Then he looked back up. "There is no romantic french music playing. That means bad. The Fleur character? Could be anybody. I'm thinking Fleur was part of that mob. And that mob is up to no good."

Drake sighed. He sat down and leaned his back against the wall and groaned. "My village was destroyed. Everybody I knew was lost. I nearly died, because of those orcs. I was the lucky one. I escaped. But my life is now built on vengeance and that is a fine example of what one small mistake can do."

Drake looked at everybody else. "This place made a small mistake. It's already growing. The mobs? They might get angrier. They will fight. A war will happen."

"A war killed my friends and family. I don't want that to happen to you. Fleur, or maybe us, might put this place in danger."

Drake closed his eyes and bent down. "Just like I did. I never wanted death. But it happens... and it can stop. When we find Fleur, we must make sure we kill him/her. We can't let something happen to the people here. They could die, but not if we help."

"Waaaahhhh!!! Oh, come on. That was a bit over dramatic. All that happened was you accidentally annoyed a druid, who created me and I took control of your body and I called forth the orcs. The orcs destroyed your village, you survived, you sailed off in a boat and you ended up at Eubric after you went fishing and fell asleep. This village isn't gonna have that happen to it, now will it?"

"So who ever this 'LaFleur' guy is, he seems to be up to no good. We should stop him. Probably he works together with Abe, the accountant of the local church. For the purpose of our employees we have to act now." Nessa was decisive. For why she was she did not know. Was it because their party leader seemed to faint? Or because she had left these voices behind?

'It is your destiny.'

"Who is Fleur?"

'It is your destiny.'

ycnrc.jpg "Fleur is Abe the Accountant." Stated the wounded man finally. His eyes were grey and stormy. He sat up and moved to a dryer patch of ground. fortunately the alley had an overhang protecting the party from the pouring rain.

ycnrc.jpg "She ran by that name back then too. I guess I should explain a little better, because I know you'll want to find her...." He started, his eyes getting hazy as he remembered. "We met 10 years ago in Drandora Port. She was a young con artist and business woman, the daughter of exiled royalty who abandoned her parents riches to make her own way in the world. I was a traveling merchant (as I am now), but a good bit younger... About 18, I'd think. She was a year younger."

if22vo.jpg

"She co-managed a small market stall (among other things) and I'd visit whenever I was in town. Eventually we entered into a partnership... And after a while we became... more than that. My life's goal had been to own a shop, and her life's goal was independence and adventure. We made a great team. For three years, we traveled the world. We finally settled down in Brendenton, making good friends with the Lords, Fleur going by the name of Abe for credibility. She was blessed with a rather androgynous face and boyish voice and made a very convincing man."

2r62n8o.jpg

"We made deals and for a while, profited."

f5dg6.jpg

"After three years we decided to marry and settle in Brendenton. Before we did so, though, I had to take one more trip to the Upper Kingdoms to bid farewell to my old contacts and call in all of my favors. 'but on my way back, in a frontier kingdom, i was ambushed by an Orc raiding party."

o88owj.jpg

"The bandits took me to their chief, a disagreeable man who called himself the Bone King."

23h1s9y.jpg

"I was forced to work for them along with several other prisoners for 5 years. Fortunately I was able to arrange a deal with the Bone King by calling in my last favor from an old friend. I managed to escape the Orc Chiefdom."

2zf96jo.jpg

"I returned to civilization after five years of living with the Orcs. I made it to Duplova, from where I was able to get a wagon and a horse. That's where I met Yoro. She was... Well, she needed a traveling companion, and I obliged."

n5lll.jpg

"I longed to return to my one love, Fleur, but when I finally got back, a week ago, I didn't realize how she'd changed."

1pcykj.jpg

"She was trapped in a loveless political marriage. Her husband was an abusive business man, and an adulterer, who only loved money. He treated her like she was nothing but a possession. But she was the real power behind the man. She whispered business plans in the man's ear, and as a result, he profited, and she profited through him. But she was a smart woman. She made her own business arrangements. She took over the church's financing, and kept the church in the black."

28sxy50.jpg

"However in her despair at my loss, she turned to hatred, envy, and greed. When I returned, she was not the woman I fell in love with, and I was not the man she remembered either. When I arrived, I wanted to escape with her. She had a plan that she'd been working on for quite some time, and with my arrival, she set it into motion. She was planning to use the current cloth depression and the Hinckwell's monopoly to buy cloth at the lowest possible price and sell it to the Shadeaux for immense returns. I confronted her about her overly ambitious, and heartless plan. I told her that she could either have me or the money."

15ea7mu.jpg

"She chose the money."

rt1dmu.jpg

"She took my 1000 gold, adding it to her 5000 she made weapons trade and left me to die."

v9rfl.jpg

"And she can have it."

OoC: Damnit! The Black cloak should be on top.

Karie tried not to show it, but she felt sympathy for the young man. Love. What the heart won't do for it.

She was shocked at the turn of events. Abe was a woman all this time, and she didn't even know. This Fleur must be one hell of a con artist to pull that off.

"This may pain you, but the way things are going, Fleur could potentially bring Brendenton to it's knees if this revolt doesn't stop. Do you know where she would have went?"

She spoke with concern in her voice.

It's strange what people will do for money.

ycnrc.jpg "She's going to Eubric to sell the cloth to the Shadeaux. I made the arrangements for her myself in the mage's district by Z-Mail. Her ship leaves at Five. After that time you won't be able to reach her. There's a storm brewing and she picked the only captain mad enough to sail it. Once she gets to Eubric, provided she doesn't capsize, she'll be long gone."

OoC: You'll observe, I never referred to Abe as a "he" in the narration. That's how you do a gender-reveal right!

What is the name of the ship and how will we recognise it?

ycnrc.jpg "The ship is named Fortune's Mistress, but you can't miss it. It'll be the only ship attempting to leave the harbour." He stated, a grim look in his eyes. "It's suicide to sail in this weather."

Nessa was startled. There was the voice again. 'Haven't I told you to leave me alone?'

Much colder and more commanding it answered: 'You do not tell me what to do. I am here to prevent you from the wrong path to follow. Now head to the harbour and stop that girl.' Nessa prepared to go when she asked: "You talked about 5000 gold Abe or Fleur has. I guess it is not the same money Father Caine was about to give her before he died? But if so she seems to lack some funds."

ycnrc.jpg "You are correct. As soon as Fleur realized you killed Marty, she suspected that the Po Brothers, and by extension, Father Caine, would soon be incapacitated. I don't know how, but she knew you were lying the second you called yourself Marty's assistant, and she sent me to report to the Shadeaux that we'd be supplying them with 6,000 gold worth of Cloth, not the 11,000 that we would have had, had Father Caine contributed his share of the gold. You have certainly crippled her plan already. Marty too was going to bring 4,000 gold to the table. She'll only be getting a third of what she intended. We would have left before four, but she had to wait for the Clothes-Guild-Head to accomplish his part in the plan: to announce the Hinckwell plot to the other Guild-Heads at the Guild meeting today. By doing so he provided credibility to the previously-heard rumour, causing panic in the Cloth-Market motivating it to sell at stupidly low prices."

"Ah. Orc raiding party. That would have probably been my fault. Sorry."

Drake smirked at the idea of being suicidal and sailing in this weather. Then he got serious when he heard what Fleur's plan would have been.

"At least we "crippled" it, but that's not gonna stop her. We have to find Abe/Fleur and kill her as soon as possible. Then, we can stop the mob, the rumours and anything else and go back home?"

"I like your thinking. NOT."

OOC: Got the idea of Dak from a game I once played. More specifically, a character and his personality. I recommend you read Dak's lines in his voice. He's called Murfy and you can find him in certain Rayman games.

I expected to be able to smoothly stay in the quest from this point on but stupid real life has gotten chaotic. I can't guarantee getting on at all for who knows how long so kicking me out of the quest is probably the best option. If all you 62ers need Dreyrugr for firepower and Dannylonglegs approves Kintobor can control my character (needless to say within reason). Apology for all and best of luck.

That's alright. I hope you enjoyed the twists and fights while you could stay. Due to the timed nature of the plot, I'll have Kintobor control your character's action, and I may give you an idle piece of dialogue here or there. I understand how life can be chaotic, and don't go out of your way to check in. I hope your real-life chaos resolves itself well. :sweet:

"This is a decision she has to make. We can not guarantee her staying alive. If she attacks us she has to face this party. If she makes it... fine, if not... well... she will be dead. And I guess the second part is more probable. So if you don't mind we have to go to the harbour."

ycnrc.jpg "Fine." he stated glumly. "Do what you must... but I know the independent, kind, funny, wonderful young girl she once was is still there somewhere... under this new, foreign shell of hate and greed." he stated, hopefully. "I know she must have felt something when she stabbed me and left me here. I don't want her back. What she did to me is inexcusable... But I can't bare to think that she's dead."

OoC: I'll send you off as soon as Karie states the Party's action.
