And??? I did pick that up but I figured it was the last thing on Dreyrugr's mind if he was making someone confused or whether or not they think Dreyrugr is slightly crazy. It sure would beat having a town trying to murder you for the simple fact you ARE a vampire even if you hadn't done anything.

PS: The above examples may or may not be experiences of Dreyrugr. It just happens that people hate vampires for being vampires.

Just checking.

I'll bring you guys to Fleur this evening. I don't quite have the time right now.

Karie downs both a mead and a potion (a rather nasty tasting concoction by most people's standards, including her own), as well as apply venom on Sexy.

In order to prepare Dreyrugr chugs a nostrum and a smelling salts. In a moment of hesitation Dreyrugr chugs a mead. In that moment Dreyrugr got a headache. Dreyrugr sat down for a moment before getting back up.

"So are we going to catch that ship or what?" He may not have been feeling well but he felt like he could hit people harder as he could no longer control his own strength.

Nessa saw her companions drinking some of those elixirs. She also grabbed a mead and downed it. The taste was aweful - again. All those drinks seemed to be not her taste. But suddenly something changed. Nessa felt stronger in a way. "Will you all please stop wasting our time and hurry down to the boat?!"

'Perhaps it was not a good idea to take one of these...'

Nessa then applied some venom onto her bolts.

The party hurried. They drank their drinks as they ran down the muddy road that lead to the Harbour. They waved goodbye to Che Qi, and wished him well. He stared at them, confused, but to thankful to say anything. Why were hey running? What was their goal? The rain fell hard. The Party forced themselves against the wind and the rain, each step bringing them closer to their objective: Catch Fleur Beyland. The Party made it to the Docks. It was 5:07

When they arrived, they found, to their dismay, three Guards waiting for them. Dockworkers were piling the last of the crates of cloth onto the ship which bore the Bonapartes' colours. Fleur was nowhere in sight... Then, from the Helm of the ship, they heard a harsh yet boyish voice.

"Damnit, Captain Quinton Brody, I hired you to sail at 5:00, no questions asked, yet we've been sitting here for seven minutes."

"You're insane! This here's a hurricane, and you aren't a damn Sharkling. I'm waiting for your safety." came a deep growling reply from further back on the ship.

The Boyish Voice laughed hollowly. "I'm safer in the storm than here." it growled, bitterly. "There's a band of five mercenaries coming... They've killed all my associates and now they've come for me. I told you not to ask Questions, and I payed you enough to run a blockade, Quinton, now, get this damn ship moving or so help me, I shall get out and move it myself."

The deep voice grunted in acknowledgement. "Alright! you heard the boy, Aquomancers, ease the winds, drop the sails, haul anchor. We're leaving NOW!"

The cloaked figure of Abe the Accountant stepped up to the rail.

2diqesm.jpg

"They're here." She stated in a removed voice. "Guards! Arrest these men for murder. You, Aquomancer. See that these men are killed. Fly back to us when they're dead."

She leaned down on the rail, her cloak churning like the ocean beneath her in the furious wind. Her face, slightly exposed by the wind, looked boyish, and somehow familiar. Her expression was that of cold, clinical anger and intensity... but in her eyes there was pain. The rain beat against her face like mad tears, though she was not sad.

Party Leader: Order-up! Everyone else: You know what to do.

"Fleur! I expect you to take me as a fool, an idiot, but what you don't realize is that you ruined your entire plan when your ex- boyfriend, Dice gave me a key piece of information: you knew who we were in the alley back at the bank! The only way you could have known this is if you had met us earlier! You married Dil years ago under the alias of Ave, and sparked an interest in the cloth market in him. You used the takeover to your advantage, and intended to backstab Dil and take off with the cloth, and sell it. When you returned to Marty, you knew he was dead because you knew what our goal was: to stop the rumour. You knew this be because you met us back in the inn when we first arrived here. Come on Fleur, call me on my bluff! You know I'm right!"

Despite the harsh conditions, Karie had a large grin on her face, rapier in hand.

Drake stepped forwards. "Yeah, I know you're all greedy and you hate everybody who opposes you but you better get off that ship lady and fight us like a man! Or go out in the storm like the insane idiot you are and die in a horrible agonising pain in which we won't be there to save you and introduce you to a longer and more efficient life. Your choice. Take your pick."

"That, or I come aboard and beat you up while Drake watches and the others fight the guards and the aqua-fool."

Drake then turned to the rest of the party.

"Okay, I've figured out that the boat isn't too far away so we might be able to land some hits on Fleur. If we fight her, though, we have to be quick because she is going fast!"

Posted

"That is a nice conclusion, Karie. I am impressed." Nessa admitted. "And now we have to take our last stand. I don't say it will be easy cause it won't. But we have a chance. I'd say we concentrate on the guards and the workers. I will attack Dock Worker A from the back row."

Posted (edited)

Karie knew the party had one shot at this. Everything that happened today accumulated to this.

"Amorith, stick to the dock workers, we need as many of them incapacitated now! Drake and Nessa, stick yor sights on the two Advanced Guards. Dreyrugr, focus on the Aquamancer. Everyone stay back! Fleur's obviously made it clear she intends to get out of this with her goods. Lets prove her wrong!"

Karie jabs at the Harbour Guard from the back row twice.

Battle order to come.

33ueq01.jpg "I'm impressed," the cold woman smirked. She loosened her scarf from her head and pulled it down slightly, revealing her face as that of Ave Hinckwell. She bore an impressed grin now, her recently-crudely-cut short hair sticking out the sides of her head-scarf. She bowed deeply, extending her arms wide in an exaggerated gesture of false humility.

"Not bad." She admitted, a challenging smile on her face. "You've quite the deductive mind." she pointed out, "But you're wrong about one thing.... I had no choice in marrying Dill." She stated coldly. "He needed a title to get into the Lord's counsel, and exiled royalty sells cheaply." She flashed a wounded grin. "He had economic sense, I'll give him that, but I would never have willingly taken a man like him. He forced me to be his wife, but he never loved me. I was just another possession to be kept and controlled." She grinned. "He had a thing for dirty blondes, though." She stated, sickness in her voice. "One even gave him a child. I was so surprised. I didn't think he had it in him. As far as I could tell, the only thing he really loved was money." She snarled. "Money. Money. Money. Day after day, I watched him destroy himself and those around him for money... And the more money that came in, the more he wanted. He simply couldn't get enough gold." She stopped and chuckled. "And I was forced to watched him as he methodically tore apart his soul for worthless currency.... And I learned. I watched him make his moves and after a while, I made better ones. As the Church's Accountant, I had my hands in many pots, and I grew flowers in those pots." She stated grinning coldly. "I made a better Merchant than he ever could have been. And you're wrong about another thing too." She smiled. "I couldn't stab him in the back, because he doesn't have a spine to puncture! He stole my idea for monopoly and claimed it as his own... And it wasn't the first time either." She chuckled hollowly, eyes intense. "But yes, I found a way to take advantage of his naive narcissism. hm." She huffed, pleased with herself. "I'll make more money as an individual than he will as a company man, now. 40,000 gold all to myself. That's money to die for." She stated, the look of cold intensity returning to her face.

Nessa took the bitter pill and downed her Smelling Salts. Suddenly the time slowed down. She was focused and the enemies in front of her were clearly visible. Nessa pulled out a bolt and aimed for Advanced Guard A from the back row. "Ok everyone. We have exactly one try with this. Don't let us waste it."

OOC: I go with legobodgers. At least he and me should concentrate on the Dock Workers for giving us easy time-ups and we could deal some multiple damage (if we were lucky :classic:)

Also: have I used the Smelling Salts right - so being hastened in the same round? Just forgot how these work :sweet:

I have a strange feeling I am giving too much material for my QM to work with. :sceptic:

Totally called that. :poke:As a question if we leave this combat and get on the ship do we lose all positive and negative temporary effects?

Dreyrugr quickly and almost idiotically rushes to the front row attacking the aquamancer twice. "It's too bad you won't live to see tomorrow. I would've been interested to meet a mage who could control the weather."

Now dearly hoping that the aquamancer doesn't kill me. Come on 1/2 stun chance work your magic. :hmpf:

OoC: I had a good laugh when you said that. by the way, turns out this Ship isn't the ship you're looking for either. :poke:

Your effects will last for both battles.

Come on Dice, do your stuff. I expect 6 6's in a row.

I'll run the round when I get a battle order.

Just as a heads up, I should be down one venom, one potion, and one mead.

Derp. Thanks! I frequently forget to remove consumables. Particularly when so many people have imbibed. I just rolled and wow. So many Dice. :wall: :head_back:
