The party trudged back to the market district, following Nessa's compass to Che Qi's apartment-house. The caught him as he was pulling his stall's chair into the building out of the rain. Several buildings were burning on the street and the people fought to put them out. What had once been a semi-organized riot had descended into a frantic attempt to put out the fires that threatened to tear down what the People of the city had left.

"Ah, you five have come back. Now that I'm in my home, I may be able to help you better. Sorry for the mess. I have many assorted things in here. Some are valuable, some don't have a monitary value... But please, if you can think of any way for me to repay you for your charity, then all you must do is ask."

The were-raven retreated within his abode, shuffled around for a while, and returned with a well-preserved Scroll of Sealing. "Here you go. I've never known what this did, as I have no training in the arcane arts. My friend hadn't either, but he thought I could sell it... I haven't sold anything but cloth before though."

"Yes, you did ask for that earlier, and it seems you're in luck. I do have some raw meat that I was planning on baking later. I don't know why you'd want it raw though." Che Qi stated as he retrieved the item, giving Dreyrugr a slab of Raw Meat.

"Hmmm. An Amethyst is rather expensive.... But you did save my life." For a moment he wrestled with the idea of simply handing over such a valuable item, but after a second he shook his head in self disgust. "You've earned it. I have a small jewelry box where I keep such things. Maybe I have one such gem." He went back into his building and returned with an Amethyst. "This was my Aunt's" he stated, handing Nessa the Amethyst.

"Thank you, Che Qi. I will keep it in honour and remembrance of her." Nessa said with a warm voice.

"By the way Amorith I saw you picked up a nice looking shield. I could trade this halberd I picked up for it which seems to be worth about the same if you aren't planning to use it. Recently I have been falling much too quickly, especially for a vampire. Hard to kill but easy to fall. I figure maybe some training with a shield and I should be able to stay up quite a bit longer."

"You haven't answered my question. Do you think we could work out something for the shield?"

"Mr. Che, it's good to see you're okay! Now then, I'm looking for an opal gemstone. You wouldn't happen to have one, would you?"

They both want rare gems from someone they just met for nothing. And they call me the heartless one. I guess at least they don't seem to be at each others necks anymore.

"Maybe something to put my mind off of the tragedy that happened today. In fact, I would very much like a new sword, if you have one. It could be useful when I don't need a mace to do a job quickly!"

"And it wouldn't mean having to see the enemy's brains. Ugh! I hated Drake's brain enough..."

"Hmm. Well I don't want to raid your fridge for anymore food... you won't happen to have any light armour, something suitable for a rogue? Nothing fancy, just durable enough to take a few hits."

"Ah, I do have something like that. I wear lether armour in the seedy parts of town sometimes. It is yours now." He stated, returning with a common set of leather armour.

The Party thanked Che Qi profusely and made their way back to the Grey Wolf Inn, where they knew Dill Hinckwell would be waiting for them. They walked down the road watching the riot-gone-wrong work to put out the fires that had been set. The Party couldn't tell if it had been the rioters who lit the fires or the soldiers that worked for the Lord, but either way, they became a bit fearful for some reason. Something was nudging them in the back of their heads. A small tingle of trepidation.... The Party walked a bit faster, turned the corner.... And then they saw it. The Grey Wolf Inn was burning down. Inside they heard Dill crying for help. On th ground outside the burning inn lied Bart, Dill's assistant. He looked bruised and battered, but he was coughing and picking himself up. In his had he held a sword.

"He's in there." He panted, seeing the party. "The Arsonist."

What would the Party Do?

Karie didn't know how to react. Dil had used the party like pawns. For all she cared the old man could burn in the fire, but this Arsonist was obviously a threat. The few people in this town who she thought were worth saving were at risk. Yoro, Dice, Che Qi, the dog in the alley.

"Dreyrugr, pass Amorith your aquamarine, Amorith, I need you to douse the building in water! We're getting Dil out of there."

The door to the inn was loose on its hinges, like it had been forced open. Smoke gushed out of the higher level windows. Crashing noises were heard among the screaming of the venerable old man, Dill.

"You need to stop him from killing D... Master Dill!" stuttered Bart.
