"Anyone want this? If not I'll keep it! Still, we need to get out of this building! Barty, get a good grip on your dad, we need to get out of here!"

Karie makes a dash for the exit of the burning inn, motioning for her party to follow.

The Heroes stood outside the burning inn. The rain drizled on them slightly, but for the most part, the storm was over.

Karie watched as the rest if the inn toppled in on itself, the smouldering wreckage a sort of analogy of what happened today. She took a breather and then approached Dil.

Well Dil, it seems as if we have not only stopped the spreading of the rumours, but also destroyed a large quantity of Brendenton cloth, cheaply bought by your wife, Ave, who was the one who set up this whole scheme. As of right now, I'd say she's about half way to Eubric, or the ocean floor. We have filled our end of the bargain, now you fill in yours."

She didn't want to hang around the greedy slim ball any longer than she had to. His whole monopoly scheme was rather sickening the second time hearing it. It wasn't as horrible as what happened back with the Apprentice...

"What?" He demanded, shocked, "My wife was the one who was spreading the rumours?!" He looked as if he didn't believe it. His eyes stared at nothing in particular. "But she was just out shopping..." He stated to himself, still trying to understand how this could be. "That bitch!" He stated suddenly, surprising anger in his voice. "How could she do this to me? What did I ever do to her that would make her do such a thing to me? All I've ever done is work my megablocks off to maintain our lifestyle and standing and there she goes throwing it all away for nothing?!" He fumed at himself, an incalcitrant frown finding its way onto his face. "How did she do it?! What was her scheme?" He demanded of the party, a cold frown on his face. He stood himself up, leaning on Bart for support. He rubbed his wrinkled brow with his palm.

Ave, or Fleur as others know her as, intended to buy up all the cloth with money from various sources, one of which was the church. She was under the guise of Abe the Accountant, and made her way to a high ranking position. Once the monopoly was in place, she bought all the cloth for dirt cheap, and intended to sell it to the Shadeux for an enormous amount of cash. She duped you from the beginning Dil, and you'll be happy to hear most of it is burnt to a crisp thanks to us. I know this must be hard for you Dil, but the chances of her surviving that storm are slim."

Dreyrugr looks at Karie somewhat surprised. The last sentence was quite harsh and wasn't what he expected out of her. Dreyrugr turns back to the building and when it is safe Dreyrugr goes to retrieve the body of the arsonist.

Dill simply looked astonished. His angry frown oscilated between anger and shock.

"I... I remember her parents said that she went by the name of Fleur when she lived in Drandora. She was a free spirit then, and they wanted to keep better track of her, so they accepted my offer for her hand in mariage--no insignificant fee, mind you--and I gained the title I needed to become a member of Lord Brenden's council... apparantly they made a rule preventing those without royal titles from gaining entry due to some insane mage years back who turned people into frogs or something... But I never had any inclination she was hiding so much from me." He looked dumfounded and angry. "And I've dealt indirectly with Abe the Accountant too! He... She was the one who brokered the arrangement between the High Priest and myself... Oh. I'm such a fool. That bitch has hated me for no reason my entire mariage!!" He looked furious. "She manipulated me this entire time!!! This whole town's gone mad and they think I'm the one to blame!? This is all her fault! Because of her this endeavor may even bankrupt me!... The townspeople burnt or sold most of the cloth that was going to earn me such a large profit... Fortunately you stopped her from getting anything out of it. You burnt the cloth she purchased? That backstabbing snake."

(I'll end the Quest when everyone who wants to gets a chance to deal with Dill.)

Once the fire had been drowned out by lack of oxygen and the rain, Dreyrugr, and undead who would likely not be as effected by asphixiation or other burning building problems that the author is not exactly an expert on, entered the building to find the Arsonist's body. He dragged it out. He was heavy and badly burnt, and extremely dead. His skin (where any remained) was black and burnt, and his flesh smelled like roast beef.

"He's already done that" says Dreyrugr while showing his shield before putting it back into his infinitely deep bag. "Speaking of giving things back". Dreyrugr takes of his borrowed leather armour and throws it to Nessa.

Dreyrugr then looks at Dill. From everything he experienced while tracking Fleur and also what she freely said she wasn't quite the monster he made her out to be and neither was he as victimised as he made himself out to be. However he had hired them to do a job so Dreyrugr did it.

Why people like to go and share how unfortunate they are when they haven't nearly got it as bad as some people is still beyond me.

Not only did you manage to seemingly defeat my wife's machinations, but you saved my life, and for that, you've certainly earned your reward." Dill Hinckwell pulled up a sack he had on his person and handed each hero 150 gold. "Also, I will put in a good word for you with the Family." he stated smiling weakly.

A soldier on horseback arrived in front of Dill. "The Lord wants to see you." he stated with a serious tone.

Karie couldn't help but feel sorry for the old man. She didn't know why, but the scrutinous old man was pitiful. He had lost everything due to a manipulative woman who was probably resting on the ocean floor. Or she could be half way to Eubric...

To be honest she didn't care at the moment. She was hungry, tired, needed to stitch her clothes, and

she needed to fix her mask.

Dreyrugr walked to the Court District with the body. In the chaos, no one seemed to pay much attention to a man carrying a burned corpse. He found a building he considered likely candidate for offering a bounty for the death of The Arsonist. Within the pillared structure he found an individual who appeared to be the "Secretary for the Head of the Guard."

Dreyrugr walked to the Court District with the body. In the chaos, no one seemed to pay much attention to a man carrying a burned corpse. Dreyrugr walked up to the individual. "Here is the arsonist that I believe you had a wanted poster out for. He met a rather ironic end."

The woman looked him over. "My word." She stated, "It would appear so. He was supposed to be executed today, but with all the chaos, he must have escaped. Tell you what, for yout heroism, I can offer you the bounty on his head. Here's 50 gold." She stated, handing the vampire a satchel of gold coins.

Nessa was wondering about the pale vampire. She knew him quite long but not quite well. She saw him taking the Arsonist's corpse and walking away. He did not return for a long time. Meanwhile she waited for the next day. "Perhaps we may find a pub or so that is not completly destroyed to get some rest?"
