OHH, Nice I like the hammer on the threed king, and that battering ram is a master piece! :-$ Great use of the Fernis wolf Head! And in what set can you find a black barrel that you have on the side of the Battering Ram?

Wow, ZCerberus went on a Viking rampage!

Although....I don't think Viking 'Kings' are realistic (Ahh! Attack of the clones!), they were pirates of the 11th century, they were random rag-tag warrior thieves that joined together in a 'crew' to pillage random villages. They had a leader/captain of a ship maybe, but no 'king', which implies there was an empire to rule over. And I don't like how Lego has to color coordinate their "Outfits!!" either, they wore what ever they had, they really didn't care, they were a bunch of dirty, illmanered, barbaric brutes.

As for the seize equipment it looks nice, as Norro said, for the Lego world. I like all the horns sticking out of everywhere, looks very fierce. X-D

And I can't help but wondering how the whole body of 'The Bull' raises up, the missiles shoot and the HUGE catapult of the 'Double Engine' launches. Perhaps a simple set of hydraulic pumps? The archer cart is way too big to be a cart and therefore to have two wheels, but I like the portable practice target. :-P

Hmm... I am pretty sure NONE of this is very realistic. I am going for cool factor over realism. I think I have expressed questions myself as to whether Vikings used siege weapons at all... additionally, they certainly wouldn't be wearing the helmets they have on, or have giant warhammers like one of my 'kings' Notice I didn't say they were "Kings" but "kings", I thought Viking rulers, or leaders didn't sound as cool, so I just went with kings.

These are creations, they are creative... that is their fun! I am not going for realism, as they are an extension of Lego Vikings. By the same token then you would have to wonder how the double catapult from LEGO fires, or the artillery wagon, or why they have dragons and sea monsters and evil giant wolves...

Basically what I am saying is these are LEGO Vikings, not Vikings, so I skimped on practical considerations for cool factor.

If I ever do attempt to make something with more realism though, I will take your comments to heart.

Thanks your comments 007!

I am quite sure that is old...

I think I got them in a space shuttle set back in the day. If I recall, they were part of the engine assembly...

Pretty nice vikings, and even better vehicles. *y*

Like I said, I wasn't sure they deserved a dedicated thread, but since I had them out and ready to photo, I figured why not!

Great color scheme! *y*

Thanks, I like the Berserker guy's looks on the far right best!

4 Nordic Kings and 4 Nordic war craft to go with them. You've pretty much added a third round onto the Viking theme Mister ZCerberus!

Except they are missing giant evil mythical creatures!

Great color combinations here. I think maybe one of the bearded guys should have a grey beard just to more fully distinguish him from the other. Or maybe even a black beard (they can be found on bricklink). ;-)

I love the War Hammer idea *y* . I even made my own version ;-)

The battering ram with a wolf head looks good :-)

Are these viking kings going to pillage the Jelly Bean kingdom?

I seem to remember watching a viking special on the history channel that mentioned that many successful viking leaders went on to become actual kings in parts of Europe. The vikings were eventually assimilated into the more civilized European culture and then all but forgotten...

Maybe a more learn-ed European "history guy" could correct us? *looks for snefroe*

Are these viking kings going to pillage the Jelly Bean kingdom?

You know, if TLC had taken a more realistic approach the jelly beans I would have warmed up to them a lot better. All they really needed to do was color *pointy visors* and armors (slightly more realistically?) and then put more sensible emblems on their shields, but nooo... The latest Castle Theme is an entirely different story.

Tordenskjold,

That's some great information! *y* I never knew most of that stuff. I think many of the U.S. history books in school depict Vikings as early pirate countries that were a loose-knit group of people that constantly pilaged all over northern europe.

Do you know of any websites (or books) with this type of information. (preferably in English though :-/ )

Thanx,

Hi Pfred. you can try this article on Wikipedia It look quite good. but if there is any questions about norwegian sites or things you dont find in english sites then give me a hint and ill try to find it out for you. im in no way a Viking expert but allways been intr in the daily life of the viking time. and im very proud of my forefathers who could give so much fear to europe (we are a little people up here. so every time we can beat the mighty europe we like that :-P

I hope mr 007 didnt get offended of my answer to his post. that was not my intention
