rriggs Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) Hi all Here's my entry for the servo showdown. Was going to do something a bit more modular originally but 32x32 is quite restrictive if you start to do that so instead I have gone for a more classic town feel but updated. As I was building it I was thinking back to the old 1980s official Shell LEGO petrol stations and how they might look if released today. This is the result: Overall front shot where you can see the price board, some other signage and the shop front: Overall shot from the other side with a view of the picnic area, air/water machine and the (SNOT) pumps: Two of the pumps close-up: The air and water machine: Inside the shop: View of the shop from the other side: Cheers Rog Edited March 16, 2013 by rriggs Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Nice entry my fellow combatant......good luck....we shall see how far that final shot has reached it's target eh ? Brick On 'rriggs' ! Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) Very nice entry, but I see a problem..... As a unskilled builder in real live I can tell you the way you placed the forecourt pillar above a full hight window and door is not a good idea.... But other than that a very nice entry with lots of detail. Edited March 16, 2013 by Alasdair Ryan Quote
Aussie BJ Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Awesome build Rog with a classic Shell/Lego look. Interior is really good and I like the ice cream freezer (hope that's what it is) But my favorite piece would have to be the air and water machine it looks spot on. Lots of security cameras too. I thought I was the only one thinking about those petrol thieves. Well done and good luck. Brendan Quote

I used a standard LEGO invisible RSJ so it's pretty solid! And it is an ice cream freezer. I'm glad it was recognisable. Thanks for the feedback guys! Cheers Rog Edited March 16, 2013 by rriggs Quote
Andy D Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Very nice compact servo. But the gas prices make me think almost 40 years ago That was the lat time I saw prices like that. But I m thinking US prices where we sell by he gallon, prices would be diffrent by the litre. Good luck with the contest. Andy D Quote

The price per gallon is too scary to put on signs! Thanks for the feedback everyone! Cheers Rog Quote
ER0L Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Great station rriggs! The roof is very cool, and I like the pumps. Nice interior, too. I especially love that water and air machine and the price board, of course. Good luck! Quote
solta Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Fantastic. Looks exquisite. Nice details on this MOC. Quote
gazumpty Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Aww I love it rriggs. You have taken the same approach as me....updating a classic town set with some modern twists. Got another few days build to go (been distracted by the arrival of my first modular) and we can compare note great work! Quote
PsyKater Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Incredibly detailed and very realistic! Well done. I love those snotted pumps! Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Great work on your servo rriggs! Big fan of Shell stations! Good luck in the contest Quote
