Posted March 20, 201311 yr Evening All For Christmas I was lucky enough to get a 9398 Crawler from my wonderful family so my Meyra Optimus 2 wheelchair MOC was put on the 'back burner' After many weeks of the now, almost obligatory, huffing, puffing and cursing the Crawler has been completed and, even if I say so myself, it looks great. I very much enjoyed the build & didn't have too many problems. I had to build 'out of sequence' several times & had to employ a few build techniques of my own here and there but got there in the end. I'll not bore you with too many pictures as there are plenty on here already but here's mine. Today I've made a start on my 8461 Williams F1. Having spent a few evenings reading through the instruction book I anticipate several weeks of cursing ahead. Good job Jake's back at school! P.S. Sorry but I forgot to say that I didn't put the stickers on, my Wife had to do them for me. Edited March 21, 201311 yr by grum64
March 20, 201311 yr you sir, amaze me. Sure you take longer, but you use nothing but your mouth. That's worthy of a standing ovation. *clapclapclap*
March 20, 201311 yr Nice post, I lol'd at "I anticipate several weeks of cursing ahead." I'm just curious if you had to/are going to make any adaptations to the controller to make it easier for yourself to use? Have you ever used lego to build assistive devices?

Controlling the motorised sets I make is the one thing I'm yet to do with any real success. I have a few goes with each but that's about it. There's light at the end of the tunnel though. I don't know whether you've heard of this, the Upcore G1 It's not available just yet but when it is it'll be the answer to my prayers and those who for what ever reason need or want another way to control their PF creations. It's an amazing piece of kit. You can find more information here: http://coredevelopersteam.com/

March 21, 201311 yr I really cant imagine building this with my mouth, but as others say where is will there is a way! KUDOS!
March 21, 201311 yr Amazing! Be sure yo check in and let us know how the "several weeks of cursing are going". Your store sure schooled me! Andy D
March 21, 201311 yr Last year you already amezed us with building the Uni Mog and now the 9398 and i can only say a lot of respect  I wish you a lot of fun with building the Willams F1 Grum64 Edited March 21, 201311 yr by VFracingteam

I really don't think Lego would be interested in implimenting my building techniques. I tend to 'grab' whatever is in range to help me. Lego would need to add everything from serviette trays to memo spikes, photo frames to mugs to their instruction books. Can't see it happening! Edited March 21, 201311 yr by grum64

People have told me that the 3 'F1's' are big when built & they're right. It's going to be very impressive! It's been a bugger at times but very enjoyable none the less? I've got the 8458 Silver Champion to build yet and am on the lookout for the 8674 Ferrari. Should look awesome together!
April 5, 201311 yr They indeed will be a sight. Keep us updated. You should build a LEGO camera rig that allows you to take pictures of your progress very easily. And then a script that uploads them straight to EuroBricks.
April 5, 201311 yr You, sir are TRULY inspirational, and proves that when there's will, anything's possible. I can't imagine being able to build even the most simple sets the way you do, incredible.
April 6, 201311 yr Hats off to you sir, building weeks on end for 6 hours a day with only your mouth .. I am speechless.
April 6, 201311 yr I can't even build for 6 hours a day with my hands, so to see you build with your mouth only really inspires me. Thank you.
