March 25, 201311 yr This design looks way better than the original orange-black-white crawler! Hopefully one will be able to order just the parts needed for the different bodywork. I wouldn't buy the same crawler twice just for the bodylift and winch. It might have been really cool to put some new type of soft LEGO Crawler tires on this new release, not just new wheels (like the aftermarket 1,9'' tires that look so good on the Crawler or Unimog). And what rumpletump correctly noticed, why just put one IR receiver? It would have been so much better to operate the winch be remote control. At least it can be easily modified. Estimating the extra M-Motor and 2x PF lights, plus the new parts, this set will probably cost around 190-200 Euros (Unimog was 190 in Europe).
March 25, 201311 yr The next challege is: Build a new chassis for the Boss  Im sure there will be many modders keen to do an "old school race car" style Boss. Myself included... Edited March 25, 201311 yr by OzBen

March 26, 201311 yr Available beginning AUG 1st, 2013 Sounds like the perfect birthday present from me to me :D
March 26, 201311 yr Much cheaper than I thought. I am excited to see how well it will sell. Yes, I think $40 over the prevailing (toys r us "sale") price in the USA for the 9893 makes it a great deal.

March 26, 201311 yr There is also written: Hi Everyone - Apologies but we have small correction on this announcement. There will NOT be a pre-order beginning on July 1st. It will instead be available for purchase on August 1st.
April 3, 201311 yr Anybody know? Will it be at toys r us? If I am remembering the original contest rules right, they said it would be an "exclusive" model which means you can only get it directly from LEGO. For certain you can get it from Shop@Home and probably also from LEGO brand retail locations.
April 4, 201311 yr are they saying the price will be 199.99 usa 249.99 ca or betweeen 199.99 - 249.99 usa and ca? even $50 more than 9398 seems like a sweet deal for the a much better looking model with all thesexy blue parts.

April 9, 201311 yr The new info for you from Lego blog. Exclusive Sneak Preview of the “You Design It – We Make It!” Winner! Egor Karshiev, the creative mastermind behind the winning “You Design It – We Make It!” model, has been working closely together with LEGO Technic’s Markus Kossmann to get everything ready for production at the LEGO factory in Denmark. Driven by our desire to bring you this limited edition model as quickly as possible, we have had to make a lot of very rapid design decisions … And we’re proud to say that this is what we’ve come up with: Being an exclusive box and a model inspired by 60’s 70’s American muscle cars, we wanted to do something really special with the colour scheme. The design team and Egor discussed several different approaches, in the end settling on the dark blue used in LEGO Star Wars models for the main colour, and adding two classic race car styled white stripes as well as a number extra silver metallic elements. The dark blue colour is a LEGO Technic first – just one of the many innovations unique to this model! To complete the overall look, we’ve also added a thin white ring on the rims to provide just the right touch of extra styling. Truly limited edition With only 20,000 available worldwide and with every model featuring an individually numbered license plate, this is a fantastic chance to own something both exclusive and unique! It took some effort, but we’re very pleased to say that we have managed to include Egor’s integration of Power Functions in the internal winch and in the front headlights! The final model features a motorized winch (using a medium motor) and light cable turned on and off by a switch – all adding up to a wealth of Power Functions elements! So, finally, it’s time to press the big green ‘Go’ button in our factory and in a few weeks the first trucks will leave our warehouse in Billund carrying a very special cargo! Wherever you are in the world, we hope that this exclusive, limited edition model will give you as much pleasure as it has given us! http://technic.lego.com/en-us/Designers/Blog/Default.aspx?date=4/9/2013
April 9, 201311 yr do i understand correct that every boss has an unique licence plate? It looks so. I wonder what will be the numbering schema. Like EK-00001? That should be the one received by Egor.
