Posted March 24, 201311 yr How much are the new L and Servo Motors? also, how much are the new wheel hubs from 42000? And on the Lego Education site, I found the parts section of what they have for sale, are these good prices? All in USD: Linear Actuator and mount (common kind): $15 50 16-tooth gears: $10 20 20-tooth double bevel gears: $10 50 24-tooth gears: $10 25 40-tooth gears: $10 100 8-tooth gears: $10 100 friction pins: $10 2 pneumatic air tanks: $15 10 of the new U joints (3M): $10 5 of the 5x7 beam frames and 5 of the 5x11 beam frames: $10 (10 pack) 100 chain links: $10 100 cross axles (sizes 3M through 12M): $10 2 Unimog tire and Unimog wheel (forgot part names): $20 I know there is Bricklink but I don't have the patience to go through the naming scheme they have just to find parts, oh and if those are good prices they have more pins and some other gears and other stuff like beams and half beams and they have bike wheels. Shame that they don't list the new motors, or more pneumatic parts, or the cv joints, or wheel hubs. So price of new motors and new parts? And are those good prices? Also can someone explain how the Lego Education tubs work, since they don't list the pieces, are they just random amounts of gears or beams or etc. and are they worth the money to buy what looks like a ton of pieces?
March 24, 201311 yr The prices don't seem a lot but the shipping costs around $10, better off looking for the piece part on bricklink and remember to try and buy all your parts from one person.
March 24, 201311 yr The only one I can comment on, (because I need some and have already been looking at prices), is the 40 tooth gear, which sounds very cheap. In UK they are 50p each minimum from Bricklink. I've looked at UK Lego Education website and cannot find these items to buy. Also looked at Lego Shop and not there either. So if anyone in UK can point me in the cheap direction, I'd appreciate it. Ta muchly.
March 24, 201311 yr Author @Kronos I've seen prices for them somewhere on the forum before, so what you commented isn't true. I know they aren't directly available but how else do people get new pieces? In the same way. @Someonenamedjon I haven't looked at the shipping. Is it $10 per item or $10 per cart? That seems outrageous tho, thanks fro pointing that out. @Chilly Have you tried looking on sites like Ebay? Sometimes they can be cheaper.
March 24, 201311 yr @Kronos I've seen prices for them somewhere on the forum before, so what you commented isn't true. I know they aren't directly available but how else do people get new pieces? In the same way. Wrong? Here's the link. http://powerfunctions.lego.com/en-us/ElementSpecs/8884.aspx#88004 Any prices on here are speculation. They are available through third party sites (http://www.bricklink.com/index.asp and http://www.ebay.com ), but NOT through LEGO until June.
March 24, 201311 yr Its about $10 per cart, and if you eant next day shipping it costs about $75! I bout 120 tread links and the sprockets pack for 24 dollars, but with shipping it's around $32! Also, on bricklink you can get a whole unmog wheel for about $4
March 24, 201311 yr Author @Kronos No, I mean I've seen on this forum, a picture of the part and price, only I don't know which thread it was, same with all new elements everyone get's their hands on through Lego customer service or something. Sorry for not being clear about it. @Someonenamedjon So, really it's not a good deal unless you're buying a ton of parts, which that, excluding the unimog wheels, was basically all I needed from Lego Education that I couldn't find on pick a brick, so would it be a good deal for about $205 including shipping on parts? Or do you think I should go with bricklink and see about cheaper prices? Also on Education do you get the VIP points?
March 24, 201311 yr No, you cannot get VIP points on lego education, and do you really need all those parts in that quantity?
March 24, 201311 yr Author Darn, I thought with it being Lego it would count towards VIP, which they should start that as a ton of the kids are expensive. And yes, as only have the Unimog, the backhoe from the same year, and the snowmobile from 2007 or some year back then, and having a few bionicle/hero factory sets with cross axles and beams; I need more beams and cross axles and gears. Unless there is a set anyone knows of with an abundance of parts.
March 24, 201311 yr You can buy 100 u joint for a little under $20! http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Trainstar&itemID=31788637 and the unimog set covers just about all the common lego technic parts, just click the first number and put it in bricklink. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=8110-1 Edited March 24, 201311 yr by Someonenamedjon
March 24, 201311 yr Author I'll have to do some looking around at sets again, I'd like to get another mog but I hate the abundance of red, like in every set. Also on the Technic, Axle Connector Double Flexible (Rubber) pieces, how many do you think I need to be able to do caterpillar tracks?
March 24, 201311 yr Oh man,you would need THOUSANDS! And wheels to power them on the inside. Edited March 24, 201311 yr by Someonenamedjon
March 24, 201311 yr Author How exactly would I get thousands? considering the biggest lots on bricklink are a little over a thousand. Too bad Lego won't sell bulks of certain pieces cause I bet that would sell out with all of the AFOLs on here. And on bricklink what does it mean when the quantity is the number then x100?
March 25, 201311 yr You would probably have to get it from multiple sellers, or you could use the big hard tracks and wait for the new red grips to come out with the EV3, but you don't have to buy with the EV3.
March 25, 201311 yr Author I've seen the EV3, but $349?! That's outrageous. I'd rather spend that much on technic and know I'm getting a ton more then what the EV3 offers at that price. Even tho the EV3 does look pretty cool.
March 25, 201311 yr And on bricklink what does it mean when the quantity is the number then x100? This means that the seller will only sell the piece in multiples of that number. So if it says x100, then you have to order 100, or 200, etc. More information: http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=20&q=bulk
