So what to create when you have heaps of Star Wars and a bit of train gear, A LEGO Star Wars Train of course, this is a bit of a work in progress and the effort below I am pretty happy with.

The astromech bay was an accident in the design that I wasn't sure how to fill, but came up well, original idea was for an semi exposed engine works.

The top turret i think needs some work, but wanted to knock in some defense mechanism as a starter.

Side skirts will extend the length of the engine, since there are not may vehicles that use wheels in the SW universe and all rely on gravity drive, it is what I want to convey using the skirts.

A few more carriages would also be nice, a detention carriage, and a medical one is current thoughts.

The cargo carriage I am thinking of loading up with battle droids as a cross over from clone wars to OT since in no way is this a canon set, more for a playability point for my son.

Looks great! Maybe it's an idea to include a wagon which carries speederbikes as well? I imagine those would be carried on a flatbed kind of construction.

This is a terrific idea. There's not much limit to where you can go with this. Ammo train, starship parts, beast cages, you mentioned prisioners, luxury coaches for Imperial officers, etc.

Update on the engine, finished the skirts, I had to narrow them down to 2 studs from 4 as they hit the track switches.

Speeder bike carriage was added with a refueling point on the deck, extra photos are now in the slideshow
