Scouty Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Woohboy. Wowie wow. 3-4 inches of snow yesterday, snowday. Yesterday afternoon, sleet, raining ice. Today, snow day, again. And it's still snowing. Quote
Brainbox Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Nothing like casually strolling down the road, enveloped in a massive mid-length parka while everyone else runs for cover! :-D Now that I want to see ;-) . Quote
Optimax X Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 Man- why do we never get any REALLY deep snow in england, i mean last weeks was okay, but it's hardly 2 meters is it? I heard that some kids from schools in the U.S where geting weeks off from it. And all the chaos it created, it sounds like england can't cope with a bit of snow, but america can with 2 meters. Quote
optimus-convoy Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Well, my area's been socked with loads of the white stuff these past few days. Nearly 1ft I believe, but I didn't get any snow days. |-/ I think my school was probably one of the only ones open around here. :-D Quote

But we're tough, we can take it! :-D Quote
Scouty Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 It's still snowing. But the storm has passed. My trees have two centimeters of ice on them!!!ALL OVER THEM....but boy does it look awsome in the sunlight...I'll be sure to take pictures! Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Ok, here is my litle snow/ice story when I lived in North Carolina in '02/'03 ;-) It started to snow heavilly and all the Law School people told me to run asap home !! Since I never lived there I immediatly obliged to their friendly advice and like 30 minutes after I arrived home it was like that (I miss my Mustang *sing* ) Then it really got worse !! We had an ice storm and I was litterally blocked home !! My car was under a thick layer of ice, no kidding :-D Anyhow, living in Paris I nver experimented an ice storm before !! And as a bonus pic, here is *yoda* in front of an ice tree :-P Ice ON !! BTW, I shall move this topic in Community where it belongs ;-) *yoda* Quote

I heard that some kids from schools in the U.S where geting weeks off from it. And all the chaos it created, it sounds like england can't cope with a bit of snow, but america can with 2 meters. Thats because we can't ;-) . Two differing reasons: some people say its not cold enough to snow. Others say that its too cold to snow. Eh? *wacko* Our school did almost close the other week because of the bad storms. But... we didn't. The school did suffer some damage. A section of roof (that was already dipping) dipped even more. Several windows and doors were broken, and I think that some of the damage is still unrepaired. My house was ok thankfully, but other houses in my town weren't so lucky. Bits came off, cars were thrown across the road (yes, thrown) and trees were uprooted. It was a whole lot worse than I made it sound. We were locked in school at lunchtime for safety. Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Weather is a funny thing. When I complain about snow or the cold, my friends from mid-western Canada laugh. In Ontario, -15 (-30 with wind chill) is considered cold, but out west, alot of people are used to -50 and lower. Still, I love the snow, so I can't complain. The 40 cm we got this Wednesday wasn't too shabby, but I could have used another 40. Quote
