I look forward to this movie, aspiring to be a director myself I would love to redo the Turtles myself but let's leave Micheal Bay to do that... Oh he's not directing it?

Apparently Michael Bay is reshooting now, so another delay. Holiday season. This is going to be really awkward with the movie based sets coming out in June...

I'd take that with a big grain of salt. Some people in the comments section at least are saying that they haven't seen the info on any other websites. If even a rumor isn't on more reputable websites, I wouldn't trust it too quickly.

I will also take that lightly, also considering it's so close to April Fools Day (which was also mentioned in the comments).

My main problems with the film can be boiled down to:

1. Transformers syndrome: From the trailer, the Turtles seem to be in the background of the STORY. I reckon that we'll get very little characterization or arcs for the four besides their obvious traits.

2. Megan Fox: Really? Aren't there any other stars that could play April O' Neil? Megan Fox has the charisma of a block of wood.

3. Sucked Dry: All of the Japanese culture that permeated Turtles lore has been sucked out: Shredder is white and the Foot Clan wields guns instead of ninja weapons. It's now just a bland, typical movie.

4. Phantom Menace syndrome: The new film tries to make both kinds of Turtles fans happy. Some, like me, love the dark, street side atmosphere of the Mirage comics, but others enjoy the large scale, inter-dimensional turtles. Both are valid interpretations, but this is attempting both to appease fans and thus making no one happy. Why do radio towers have to crush buildings? Can't we just have a simple Shredder/Splinter story based on the original comic?

5. Turtles or Babies: The best description that I've heard for the new turtles is that they look like babies with upturned noses. I totally agree. I'm pretty indifferent to the design as a whole, but the faces make me cringe.

I guess I'll talk a bit about the new episode, since this topic needs a boost and I'm hungry for some analyse.

Mazes and Mutants- I know some people who watch the show complain about the filler, and I get that. Filler episodes aren't for everyone. However, I really enjoy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles's filler if only because of the bizarre concepts and episodes we get of them. Mazes and Mutants is one of those surreal, fun episodes. I love the jabs at the fantasy genre in general, from the Mazes and Mutants game, to the decision the boys get to go LARPing. Yes, the plot of the episode revolves around the ninja turtles going into the sewers to LARP out their next session of Mazes and Mutants, with all the in jokes and pop culture references the writers could cram in their. Eventually the boys are teleported to an actual dungeon by the avian mutant Malachite, who waves about a crystal ball akin to David Bowie in Labyrinth. What ensues is Raph smacking Mikey for calling his Ring of Awesome his "darling" (quite possibly the best in joke the series has had) and April being put in the position of the damsel in distress. Being a role player myself, I thought this episode was both really funny, and pretty good at portraying roleplaying games in a positive light. When the boys go out LARPing, they do so because they think it'll be cool and exciting. That and for once we get a sympathetic villain with a decent reason for doing what he does. Also, my god this show knows how to do background humour and do it well! There's a scene early on where Splinter goes into the freezer, is handed a frozen cheeze wedge on a stick by Ice Cream Kitty, and then acts as if nothing happened! I love stuff they cram into the background for people to find! It's all around a fun episode, from Donnie being the wizard and getting to say "you shall not pass!", to the use of a d20 to signify that Raph's attack against the "dragon" failed miserably with a natural one, I thought it was good.

Next week we apparently get Baxter Stockman trying to mutate April.

There is just so much wrong in that image. I mean what studio in there right mind would approve that image or character design to get out?

Ugh, Donnie is the worst of them. I mean, what's up with those nerdy glasses? Curse you Bay and your overly stereotypical characters! :sing:

On the bright side, we finally have some pics of Bebop & Rocksteady for the cartoon! :sweet: I really like their designs! Would be great to get these guys as minifigs.

I would imagine that we will be seeing those two at some point! I wonder how they will look in fig form? It will be hard to translate Bebob's skinny-ness and Rocksteady's bulk without special molds I think.

Try a Fishface type mold for Bebob and a Dogpound style mold for Rocksteady.

I disagree. I think they could work just fine as regular minifigs (assuming they're roughly the same size as the turtles like their 80's counterparts). Skinniness is always hard to translate into minifigs, but they usually pull it off as evidenced by many female characters such as April and Karai. Besides, losing his skinniness might make Bebop resemble his 80's version more which some people might prefer. As for Rocksteady, he could just have the head and armor of a Chima Rhino. That would make him bulky enough in my opinion. The only new mold they would have to make is for Bebop's head.

Well they're not exactly what I great up with but I'm glad Bebop and Rocksteady are appearing. Bebop has been dieting or something.
