TanTile Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Hello All I Just recently finished my very first Modular MOC. Or any MOC really I used mostly elements from a spare Fire Brigade that i had lying around.. (Got it Cheap as the box was opened and crushed, Picked it up for $140 Aus) It took me about 8 hours to complete. As I say I used mostly parts from that set but used a few from my parts collection, mostly for the interior and the Roof.. The story is that the Gentleman that lives here is a workaholic doing rotating shift work and only has time to eat, sleep and work, Hence the one chair, one bed and a whole floor dedicated to a bathroom, (He gets very greasy working in maintenance as a stevedore fixing straddles) Here are some Pics Exterior shots. Interior Shots Hope you like it. Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 That's beautiful! I really like the fact the door is set back a bit with the stairs. Quote
TheBricktator Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Really cool! I see you have to walk through the bathroom to get to upper floors lol. But It's lego! No worries! Quote
streifen Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Nice colour combination! The terrace in front with the steps to the entrance is great too! That is 1 huge water-tank on the roof! Errr...do you walk through the toilet to go to the bedroom? Quote

Errr...do you walk through the toilet to go to the bedroom? ahh yes it was the only way to do it with what room I had to play with, Just think of it at a huge ensuite The owner has no life so he made his second floor a complete bathroom he needs the room to clean all that grease off Thanks for the comments and support. lightningtiger Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Excellent work 'TanTile', neat use of the Fire Brigade set's parts to build it....oh, footnote - the bathroom appears to be the third floor....you have first floor down twice. Brick On 'TanTile' ! Quote
aemil Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Great work! The ornamented archs give some lovely details. And a whole floor for the bathroom? That's luxurious! Quote
the_knucklehead Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Nicely done! Having just completed the Fire Brigade myself I recognize the car grills as architectural pieces. I like the re purposing of them very much Quote
Kristel Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 This looks great. I love how you have used the white arches to frame the windows. The water tower looks a little out of place on a residential building, though. Quote
Bregir Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Excellent work 'TanTile', neat use of the Fire Brigade set's parts to build it....oh, footnote - the bathroom appears to be the third floor....you have first floor down twice. Brick On 'TanTile' ! I believe that stems from linguistic differences... In danish at least we have "Ground floor", then on top of that "First floor" etc. :) And about the stairs thorugh the bathroom - couldn't the bathroom be moved to the top floor? Then that problem would be fixed :) Quote
Hrw-Amen Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Nice building. It can be hard to fit all the internal details that you want into a small sized MOC house though you seem to have got a lot of them in. Many times I have built them and they just look so cramped inside. I don't think the minifigs being so wide help though. But you have made a good looking house especially from the outside with the steps and door and all that. Quote
TanTile Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks everyone for the comments! I was just going to leave out interior as you wont see it on display but i knew if i didn't put it in, folks would have asked if there was any so did what i could I believe that stems from linguistic differences... In danish at least we have "Ground floor", then on top of that "First floor" etc. :) And about the stairs thorugh the bathroom - couldn't the bathroom be moved to the top floor? Then that problem would be fixed :) I'm from Oz but that's still how i would see it, if I went to, say Myer (a store over here) they would have a Ground floor then the next would be the 1st floor and so on and so on... So that's how I named them Excellent work 'TanTile', neat use of the Fire Brigade set's parts to build it....oh, footnote - the bathroom appears to be the third floor....you have first floor down twice. Brick On 'TanTile' ! The 2 ground floor shots are the same just from different angels, then the next level is the bathroom then above that is the bedroom.. Quote
Redhead1982 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Well done! I like the way you used bricks from the Fire Brigade. The use of arches on the windows is a nice detail. And the simple interiors look just sweet - it's got everything you need, and who cares if a walk through a bathroom is needed to get to a bedroom, right. Quote
Only Sinner Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 This is a very nice MOC, and I especially love the tiling and all the detail. I don't want to sound ignorant, but what is a straddle and a stevedore? Quote
Vindicare Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) That's awesome for your first one! I like the outside, very decorative. Nice use of those car grills. Nice entryway as well. Edited March 30, 2013 by Legocrazy81 Quote
