(2/08/07 - HOLLYWOOD, FL) - Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday after collapsing at a hotel and being being rushed to the hospital, one of her lawyers said.

Officials at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, say she was unresponsive when she was taken from there to the hospital.

A spokeswoman for the hotel says she checked in on Monday, and was supposed to check out tomorrow.

Witness reports are that CPR was in progress at the time. Smith was reportedly accompanied by her companion, Howard K. Stern and a bodyguard at the time.

Anna Nicole has been in the news for much of the past year, as she's involved in paternity battle over her baby girl born in September. Her 20-year-old son Daniel died in the hospital just three days after the baby's birth.

Most people first noticed Smith when she married Texas billionaire J. Howard Marshall. He was 86 years old and she was only 26.

Soon after, Smith was everywhere. And after Marshall died in 1995, her reputation as America's most famous alleged gold digger seemed secure. A California court awarded her $450 million from her late husband's estate, but Marshall's son Brian appealed in Texas and won.

And once again, Howard K. Stern was present in the room for this death as well.

Aaand a syringe was found in the room.

I was listening to Bubba the Love Sponge on Sirius Satellite radio today, and he made a good point..

Why is this chick so famous and all over the news anyways?

Simply because she was A. A playboy model at some point, B. She was the epitome of the classic "gold digging woman" concept.

He also said some other things, which I won't repeat (but agree with), but he made a good point... at least the news won't be messed up with pointless stories about her non-news-worthy life soon.

I knew this Anna Nicole gal would die young, I mean, the tabloids killed her like what, 1000 times?

But seriously, I think a lot of people, including myself, saw this coming. Pretty predictable, IMO.

It's sad when any person dies, but man... she was a pretty despicable failure as a human being.

She treated her oldie first husband like she was a monster once he said, "I do".

The very last thing I want to hear about her is just this... what was she hiding about her child's father?

Were they a creation of some of the old dude's sperm she had frozen, used after his death?

Was it (egad) her recently deceased son's?

Was it the cameraman's or Howard K. Stern's?

And that's it. After that's answered, I never want to hear of the witch again. |-/

On an equally morbid note, anyone else watch her failed "resuscitation" video that one of the paramedics leaked?

Icky, but still was oddly interesting to see.

I fail to see how this is breaking news. People die of hunger, diseases and war daily and that's hardly ever in the papers. Why should some stupid blonde who just so happened to have married an old millionaire for his money get so much media attention?

Well. It sure got you guys talking. :-D

Because that's "Yellow Press", they only care about (would-be) celebrities. Your examples are "just every day life"...

Well, I know that. It was more a way of saying that there's something wrong with the press in general because of that. What's the world coming to anyway |-/

I don't even wonder about that anymore, it's been like that for too long...

I find it dispicable that people fight over custody of her now-orphaned child, making it obvious that they probably just want her large inheritance.

Seems to me these people are the scum of todays society, i feel sorry for that poor child more than anything else. :-(

Personally, I don't care. Obviously, rising from nothing can be considered a talent here in the US, and that's what drew so many people to her. But its pretty pointless IMO...

I fail to see how rising to fame can be considered a talent...or simply being famous being considered as a talent at all...Hard Partier is now considered a career by some little girls nowdays...
