Terrian are making an alliance... alone :lol: I started to collect all the stargate dvd's since we started this thread. Are you guys having any of those ? I have : season 1 at 70% season 2 at 33 % Season 3 at 100 % I hope to get the other soon. I also realized how many episodes I have to watch ! It will at least take me an entire week to watch all of them :huh: Quote

I have actually seen the original movie in a theatre and I loved it ! The fact is that I didn't like at first the serie cause it was quite far from the orginal story and also the way they were filming the stuff was not good enough for me. But then I took it for what it was, a serie on TV and it was way better :) Quote

ApophisV Posted May 23, 2004 Posted May 23, 2004 jipay, that spoiler comment wasn't because of me, it was only in a general meaning.... i already knew that doc frazier will die... :( but always think at the other people that can read this thread too... ;) back to topic: i'm not sure about atlantis.... the things that i read about it implied me the feeling of an "normal" sci-fi series, stargate and everything around changes more and more to fit to the other sci-fi series.... e.g. think at the X303 (forgot the name... :$ no, NOT enterprise... :lol:)... this ship REALLY looks like a federation ship or something like this.... the original idea of stargate (fighting basically with 20./21. century's weapons, using earth technology) had been changed, we are now able to duplicate alien technology (X301/X302, naquada reactor,shield technology, hyperdrive engines...) i'm not sure how to feel about this, on the one side it looks like "hey, this is working, we are getting powerful!", we developed and are now able to defeat the goa'uld.... but on the other hand, stargate lost a little bit of its original spirit... the humans don't defeat aliens with their military abilities and their guerilla tactics any longer (oh, and with coolness... ;) )... NOW they easily use alien technology.... Quote

And don't forget they started to use alien technologies in the first seasson (goauld wepaons). I guess that if they can see starships everywhere and they don't even think about using this technology, I wouldn't have been so excited about stargate :) Quote
