David85 Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 Wormhole Extreme is the 100th episode, not the 99th. I was thinking about making a Stargate: Atlantis topic (Stargate is one word) because we have about 10 KOTOR topics. :P But then I remembered I would be the only one here that could see it. :) So who knows.... Quote
ApophisV Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 hm, my reference page said its episode #99.. but the only important thing is: its aired tonight... ;) and youre right, stargate is really one word... i'll use my admin forces to change it... ;) Quote
ApophisV Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just read that the channel that airs SG here will continue sending new episodes in october!!!!!! what the hell???? no!!!!! :( (n) Quote
David85 Posted July 14, 2004 Posted July 14, 2004 That seems right, you normally get them in September and we get them in June, but this year we get them in July so you get them in October. We have a 4 months break unlike you, so in the end you will go ahead of us again. Any word on Atlantis over there? They kind of go together... Quote
David85 Posted July 17, 2004 Posted July 17, 2004 Atlantis rocked! A few MAJOR plotholes for those SG-1 people, but besides that it was great, and the city looks superb. Both of next week Stargates look so bad and so similar... not good. Ghosts in Atlantis and SGC.... zZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZZ Quote
ApophisV Posted July 17, 2004 Posted July 17, 2004 oh, that means they will make some "angel/buffy"-like crossovers?!? there they always was cool.... BUT IT'S STILL NOT FAIR!!!! I WANT TO SEE THEM TOO!!!!! argh.... but i've another question: will there be a 9th season?!? i read some news that it was confirmed that the pictures at the dvd boxes will become only the whole complete iimage if you have NINE boxes... so what does this mean?!? is the first box maybe emmerich's movie?! any idea/information??? Quote
David85 Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 That's a lie, the DVDs were coming out for awhile and the 5th 6th 7th and 8th season wre all going to be the last so they wouldn't know. This is pretty much it for a few reasons.... 1. RDA wants to spend more time with his daughter. 2. Teal'c has hair, they asked the casts members what they would like most and Teal'cs guy always wanted hair, they are doing that to make them happy because it's the last season. 3. Two shows, one crew. Both shows are done by the same people, thats 40 episodes this year and they can't keep that up. No Atlantis and SG-1 are completely different, Jack and Dabiel are in the first one for a few minutes, and Daniel really wanted to go but Jack wouldn't let him. Spoilers........ Another reason is because they are stuck at Atlantis and can't get home. I'm not even going to complain about the numberous plotholes (no Zats) because it was still enjoyable. Plus it seems that the Atlantis piot takes place months after the season 8 primiere because Dr. Weir has been working on a crew for months. The Atlantis sets are the most wonderful thing, it's amazing, except for the who "puddle jumper" thing, that was lame. Quote
ApophisV Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 i'll check the site again where i read about the nine boxes thing... ;) Quote
ApophisV Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 okay, sorry, now i got it... the news from that page were about some special edition dvd box set, that will contain a movie box and all eight season boxes.... Quote
David85 Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 Yes that makes more sense, the last few years have just been guess and go for Stargate. But this is the end of SG-1 (Well at least show wise.) and Atlantis will pick it up. Atlantis and SG-1 are pretty much the same, just different place and different bad guys, but still lots of plot holes. :) Quote
ApophisV Posted July 18, 2004 Posted July 18, 2004 can't expect to see if there are really plotholes in atlantis... in 2006... :( we get lego earlier than you, but we get stargate after you... okay, as a wise man: sounds fair... ;) Quote
David85 Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 That's not completely true. We have a long break, so we have season 7.0, then like 4 months break, and season 7.5. You guys get to see it all in a row and by the end have based us, so you even get some Stargate shows before us. Quote
David85 Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 Long live the King... and now Queen...... (Stargate SG-1 and now Stargate Atlantis)..... 'Atlantis' Rises to Ratings Records on Sci Fi (Monday, July 19 02:46 PM) LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The premiere of "Stargate Atlantis," the spinoff of the Sci Fi Channel's popular "Stargate SG-1" series, delivered some of the best ratings in the network's history. The two-hour series premiere on Friday (July 16) drew nearly 4.2 million viewers, the biggest-ever audience for a weekly series on the (a?) cable network. (Some miniseries, such as "Taken" and "Battlestar Galactica," have averaged more viewers.) It also marked the first time a Sci Fi series has ever delivered more than 4 million viewers and better than a 3.0 household rating (3.2). Its ratings among adults 18-49, the key demographic for advertisers, were also a network best. "Atlantis" stars Joe Flanigan, Rainbow Sun Francks and Tori Higginson as members of a Stargate team that explores a new galaxy after finding a gate (It's not a freaking gate! It's an outpost!) in Antarctica. The gate leads to Atlantis, which is not on Earth but has jumped (flew, cities don't have legs) to another galaxy. The show is a spinoff of "Stargate SG-1," which recently began its third season on Sci Fi and eighth overall. "SG-1" also set record ratings with its July 9 season premiere, which averaged 3.2 million viewers. To make you even more mad.... For some odd reason the Movie Network in Canada (It's a pay thing) will be showing the show every Monday night, starting the 19th. This is funny because the shows are filmed there but Canada still has not seen season 7 yet, which is find of important considering the Atlantis primere takes place a few months after the Lost City and New Order. Jipay Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 Thx for the info ! I just can't wait to see atlantis :o Quote
DoubleT Posted July 22, 2004 Author Posted July 22, 2004 Dont have any idea when it is in Europe, but I hope soon. But some shows take time to get here.. Quote
Jipay Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 Well it seems than in france we are getting things faster than the rest of europe, excluding england cause they don't need translation (please note that I don't those either  ). Quote
ApophisV Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 i think, netherland gets some show early, too, cause they dont GET translations, just subtitles... i'm not sure about stargate, but they showed some seasons of several star trek series earlier than here... Quote
David85 Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Season 8 of SG-1 seems to be all Earth based episodes.... zzzzZZZzzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzz And it also seems to be getting a little old, but that's what happens when the show is on 3-4 more years than it should have been. Atlantis is great. It doesn't even matter if they don't go through the Stargate because Atlantis itself is massive and pretty. :) It feels fresh even through it feels like an SG-1 ripoff, the charaters are good and make jokes. "Can we also get rid of these 10,000 year old dead plants?". :) Quote
Jipay Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 lolol excellent ! Can't wait to see it ! :) Well stargate is now 8 season, they should try to find an end to the show  Stargate shouldn't become another dallas Apo: yes, sweden as well, they only get subtitles and kids have a great level of english there ! Quote
David85 Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 Rumours have it there maybe a season 9. Of course for season nine they will change the name to "As the Stargate Spins" because it will only be about Jack and Sam F---ing. Quote
David85 Posted August 29, 2004 Posted August 29, 2004 A Stargate SG-1 update. The show sucks, I can't even watch the whole show at once, I need breaks, maybe that's why they made the commericals so long. Atlantis ratings are falling and it only gets better (Weir sucks!), while SG-1 is trash and is doing better each week. This shows the stupidity of America. Here's a list of the epsides so far with spoilers for them and why they suck. I was debating someone else elsewhere. New Order - Primere, only thing that furthers the story. Lockdown - On Earth, does nothing to further series, just makes more "Russia sucks" plot. Zero Hour - Another Earth based episode, still doesn't further the series, an ok episode, but has a terrible "everything is fine" ending that is really getting old. Icon - The only off world episode!!!! Could take place in any season, and if it was season 2 it would have been good but we got the "been there, done that". Avatar - If "furthered" a storyline that no one gave a shit about the first time around 6 YEARS ago. Affinity - NID Teal'c BS. In the end we find out that in 8 years of the show and the NID they have a transporter, wow. This is one of the worst episodes ever. Covenant - NID episode with so many flaws. Let's show him the truth. So if I was rich and said that their were aliens would they show me them? Not a chance, the episode was lame, but more watchable than most episodes. SACRIFICES - Teal'c sees his girlgriend agian which is ok I guess, but this comes 2 episodes after he was cheating on her. ENDGAME - NID. The first few episodes kind of furthered the Jack as leader storyline which is new, but after that it feels like we are getting leftovers from the earlier seasons and this far into the game we should get better. Precious Jazz Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 SG1 has finally come back on Wednesday and Thursday nights in Australia (with the original X-Files episodes what a bonus!) I LOVE Daniel and Jonas they should bring Jonas back now that O'Niell spends a lot of time offworld. Quote
ApophisV Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 poor jonas.... i missed almost every episode where he was shown because the final buffy season was aired at the same time.... but its a shame that MGM took him out of the show, only to let daniel return.... at least they should had given him a smaller role, e.g. in another SG team.... Quote
Jipay Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 SG1 is starting in france, wich usually means that the next season is coming back soon. Now I won't be in france for the next season *arg* :crying: Quote
David85 Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 Jonus was played to be in Atlantis, but season 7 happened. He also signed a two year contract and RDA isn't there as much, so I don't know why they kicked him off. Oh yes I do because the writers have lost their minds. Quote
