Morten Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Preorder this set now and they will ship it in 8 month time. I just calculated that if you keep the 550 euros in my bank for 8 month, i will get 13 euros in interests, thats enough to get another small LEGO Star Wars set for. I think it is a really dirty trick LEGO have made, by that talk about: This Exclusive First Edition set includes an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity I will call LEGO next week and more about that. Love to get the set, but hate to pay that much money so early. Morten Quote
Asuka Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 and also visit my film on youtube: If u want. :-$ (off-topic, hush-hush) Hey! Nice movie. Great camera work! :-) Quote
Holodoc Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 BTW, What is Holodoc? In google images it gives me a bunch a pictures like the guy in your avatar, but Memory Alpha has nothing. Mmmmh - I found myself in memory alpha :-P (seems to be very close to section 15 alpha ;-) ) Try "EMH" or "MHN" instead. :-D Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Holy crap! Thats huge! Thats awesome! Thats beautiful! Quite possibly the best UCS set ever made. No, the best set ever made! Very detailed and awesome. nice mini-figs too. I find it awkward they have mini-figs though. -ZotS Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 We own a model of the Falcon this big. If I can get it, I will be proud to put this along side it :) Quote
DJSaulTNutz Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 It's funny...this scoops Lego's Toy Fair premiere showing of this model coming up in NYC. I am definitely buying. I dig this model, but honestly Lego, why couldn't you come up with a special clear, painted canopy for the cockpit?? I could understand if it wasn't going to come with any figs...but c'mon...if you are throwing figs in there, it should have a clear plastic cockpit canopy. Also: the dark red highlights are kinda wacky. I would have picked dark orange or dark tan. My 2 cents. I love the greebling, but those fence thingies in the rear haveta go! Looks like they studied Pepa Quin's quite a bit, although his model is definitely still bigger... AWESOME! Quote
jamie75 Posted February 11, 2007 Author Posted February 11, 2007 Now avalible in the US, just ordered mine!! Now for the loooooooong wait! At least we have the MTT, Sith Infiltrator, Jedi Starfighter with Hyoperdrive Ring, and Naboo Fighter to tide us over!! Go order, Jamie Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 $679.99 Canadian. After tax, that works out to be $775. Alot of Bothans are going to die if I'm going to be able to save that kind of scratch. Quote
dunamis Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Ordered mine just now ($540 including tax). October 1 can't get here soon enough... Quote
phoinix Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 8 pages of chating in one day? more than 3000 hits on this theme! WOW!!! this set is truly amazing but SO SO SO SO ecxpensive... :-X Quote
Echo Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Not having enough space isn't a problem for me. My problem is the price. I doubt that I will be able to get this. :-( Quote
catch-22 Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I just preordered two. One to build and one to put away for a long time. Quote
Dark Brick Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Oh my god! I almost peed my pants when I saw this on the main page. This is truly amazing. I could use another MF in my collection. Of course just like others have mentioned, my space is limited too, so this would be sitting in the box for quite a while, just like the ISD. After dunamis posted that he bought his on the U.S.A. site, I too am going to get mine, most likely order it tomorrow when I am at the LEGO store, this way I can get the stamps for the loyalty card. :-D The only beef I have is that it is expensive, considering that I just bought the ISD 2 months ago. The whole idea of having to pay for it all at once is not all that comforting either. I guess Uncle Sam will have to be covering this one. :-P Oh there is another issue that I have and that is that I am also going to Star Wars Celebration IV this year and just the booking of the hotel and flight is costing me as much as this. But alas I do not want to miss out on this great set. Oh what to do. Tomorrow I will know. Lemur Quote
Scouty Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I especially would like to get this just because of the Leia fig. Quote
catch-22 Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I guess the only remaining question is if it's going to have an interior of any kind. Quote

Dark Brick Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Well I just checked shop at home and preordered my Falcon. Wow, 500 big ones!! My wilf will flip when she sees that. 8-| Good thing they dont charge you till it ships...... October. Just to make sure, they are not charging you until it ships? Are you buying this within the U.S.A? Please let me know. Someone else mentioned that you have to pay for it at once. Thanks. Quote
Legoman Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 for those in the US your price is lees than 1c a peice *y* Quote
Starwars4J Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I hope I managed to get one of the first editions. What do you think, they sold out too fast? I'm just praying they really don't charge me until October or i'll have to cancel... Quote
Legoman Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 i found this on fbtb. Quote/ I found this posted over at yakface.com, comments from the designer of the UCS Falcon. Most interesting of all is this Galactic Hunt C-3PO minifigure! "Ok, here is the latest from the LEGO showroom. Images will be up soon. The LEGO Falcon. Point blank, the biggest set ever. 5100 pieces. Biggest price point sure... but here is the information right from the designers mouth. He was given a free run at creating this piece. No price point, no limitation of pieces. So how do you start this gigantic set??? Well this is what he started with. He wanted this not only to be the best set to date, but also the first Ultimate set with mini figs. There will be 5. Luke (with hippie hair styly), Han, Leia, Ben, Chewy. Ok, next, not only have the 5 figures.. but make it to scale of the figures.. so where to start. The most logical choice.. the cockpit. Make this set fit 4 in the cockpit, then make the cockpit to scale of the rest of the ship. That is where this started from. Overall, the set took about 4-5 months to create. One side note. It took one full year to make the instruction manual. Like building LEGOS??? The desginer took 5 days to build it, for the third time! Now.. 5100 pieces.. what is that??? how about 15lbs for the weight of the ship alone. How about how sturdy. sturdy enough for him to pick it up with one hand.. not for too long.. 15lbs is a lot to lift and hold straight out. He said this is strong enough to hang from the ceiling. The entire frame inside is built with technic and it is built like a rock. There are no NEW pieces in the set, however, when you look at the images, you will see the back top black pieces are the there for the first time in black. For a limited time you can order it with FREE shipping. Doesnt sound like a lot, but shipping on this set alone will probably range about 50 to 60. Not that bad of a deal. As for the rest of the news. There will be a galactic hunt if you will, for the C-3PO that is gold in color (that is shinny gold) inserted into 10,000 random packs starting in June of this year. Could be anyone of the Star Wars sets coming out this year. Also there will be a contect on the LEGO.com site, for your chance to win one of FIVE 14k gold C-3PO mini figs. As I said, look for all these images by tomorrow. Including images of the designer holding the falcon in the air and the two different C-3PO's" Quote/ i hope i win one of those 14k C3PO'S 14k!!!!!!!! 8- Quote
dunamis Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 for those in the US your price is lees than 1c a peice *y* $540 (including tax) / 5195 pieces = 10.39 cents per piece. Quote
Starwars4J Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 *sigh* I'm a Star Wars collector. But those 5 14K C3POs...they'll go for way more than I could ever hope to afford. And I'll never win it. I won't even get the gold colored ones :-/ Quote
